I love her first tip honestly, for one crucial reason - it’s not really a free gig, it’s just the equivalent of a filmographer’s promo reel, or an artist’s book/portfolio.

Awesome video, thank you. I would love to hear her or other DJ sax players without the effects. Just to hear what they sound like so I can try to replicate their natural sound, before I purchase the pedals!

I’m cringing every time she sways back n forth her sax too close almost hitting the horns in the shop.

I had an epiphany in NY many years ago while playing in A&R studios to a track.on a national jingle. I left NY and I now if I play any solo gigis I get with NO tracks thank you. It's a little challenging but very rewarding to show the rhythm, harmony and melody by yourself. It's surprising what a good response you get from most people. It's all good but I hope I encourage more people to do it. Playing interactively with other musicians is always the best experience and output. Maybe it's because I learned without Aebersol (sp) recordings. Whatever helps you learn-go for it. SScSACTBB

In Lanzarote, 99% of sax gigs are a guy and a backing track. It’s really put me off backing tracks!

@@rongibbs390 that’s sad. I hope they remember how to listen carefully and interact with other artists appropriately at the moment.
