19th November 2022. I begin to look through my 7 playlists on Christmas: 2 of them in tone and song. As I browse, I find "Robinson & Rohe". Memories flood to mind and I just have to listen. As before, your poetry stills the moment and eternity appears where before there was just humdrum. May His peace guide your inner beings this Christmastide.
Thank you so much for this, Robinson & Rohe. I would play it over and over last winter and I still go back to it every time I need to find the deep center in my soul.
Last year I posted a link for this beautiful carol to a boat builder's site whose small house boat, Rose, was in a MN Christmas parade decorated with greenery and lights. I haven't seen that performance since then. It vanished leaving behind only sweet memory. Looking for it has been fun though. What attracted me to this performance was the photo of two singers. My wife and I want to sing it together. This is a perfect version for us to work from. Thank you for posting it!
Your tenor, Liam & sweet guitar, Jean - your blending, your tenderness and sensitivity are simply * won*der*ful *. Christmas dawn is gently arriving, now, here in Hilo. I so appreciate this You Tube & both of you. As others have said, this is my favorite Xmas song, a prayer, right? I had to darken the jerky movements, not appreciated, seemingly detracting from the loveliness of the song. Biking to Reverse Climate Chaos
Thank you for this. This tune has been haunting me lately. Thinking of recording myself. Love your arrangement and video. People have been singing this since at least 1599! THAT'S a feat that very few modern songs will ever achieve... all the best!

"Es ist ein Ros entsprungen" (lit., "A rose has sprung up"), is a Christmas carol and Marian Hymn of German origin. It is most commonly translated in English as "Lo, how a rose e'er blooming", and is sometimes known as "A Spotless Rose." The rose in the text is a symbolic reference to the Virgin Mary, and the hymn makes reference to the Old Testament prophecies of Isaiah which in Christian interpretation foretell the Incarnation of Christ, and to the Tree of Jesse, a traditional symbol of the lineage of Jesus. Because of its prophetic theme, the song is popular during the Christian season of Advent. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Es_ist_ein_Ros_entsprungen

Thank you!
Well blent, but I would put the volume on man's voice a bit lower or the girl's and instrument's a bit higher.
Somethin about the way man attacks notes sounds too much like pop or too little like classical singin.
The sound is very beautiful but this has to be the most depressing christmas music video I have ever seen
A world in darkness has seen a great light ✴️
Beautiful
