If they have a passport, i think there should be a cut-off time. Doing it this way will allow other prospects to get a look in.

No, because we will always need players to enhance our pool of talent

Unfortunately, jamaica doesn't have the resources to make demands. Beggars can't be choosers. These players were born, raised, and talent developed in a foreign land. We can't give ultimatums

Absolutely not!! If the player is not mentally ready to take up the call, why would you want him there? Many of these players have contract situations to be sorted out anyway........We have two games in 2024. The next set of games will be in 2025. We will lose players to (1) Injuries (2) Loss of form (3) Personal issues etc etc
Unfortunately, many of the players who start the journey will not be there in the end.....

Why would you expect them to play for Jamaica if their club contract situation is not settled. What happens if they get seriously injured while on international duties, who's insurance policy covers the injury etc

Sometimes we blame the players who aren’t coming when we want, not thinking about the agents and parents who are the one calling the shots… ( for some )..

I think it’s nonsensical to give players a deadline….. what is the difference between not selecting them than can’t be selected after deadline??? If they’re not ready they’re not ready if you want to go after other players go after them, because one is not ready shouldn’t stop you from going after 2….this deadline argument is weak and it would be there to stop only one set of players like the players you have in the thumbnail

    Good reasoning my brother..
    fair question ask.

In my opinion, there should be a cut off point. Certainly because of a number of reasons, such reasons are:
    > they are professionals
    > they already have a pretty good idea of the direction that they want to move in
    > Reggae Boyz team should not because they are not wanted in the other national teams, like it is a pity participation

No deadlines! EPL one of the toughest leagues to be in, guys need some time to recover. Let them have their time! But they need to show up for our biggest games!

So let me get this. We don't want them when they are young so we have quota system in place. When they are prospects for the Senior Team we want to place a timeline on when they can come and not only that the Jamaican government is apparently either unwilling to render assistance with passports similar to what they do for other sports or even worst deliberately halting the process. SMDH.

Worst case scenario: What if we don't qualify for the World Cup and the players that don't meet the deadline finally decide to make the switch to Jamaica. Do we not accept them then? Secondly! Is it constitutional to deny someone to represent their country because they didn't make the decision sooner. We can all agree that once you have a Jamaican passport, you are a citizen of said country.

What’s does the constitution have to do with football ? No where in the constitution it’s says you have play football for Jamaica. You granted a passport and citizenship base on your connection to Jamaica but playing for the country is a privilege and base on what the coach wants

@@robsmith9029 “According to FIFA’s diversity and anti-discriminatory policy, “discrimination of any kind on account of race, skin colour, ethnic, national or social origin … religion, sexual orientation is strictly prohibited and punishable by suspension or expulsion” I got this directly from the FIFA website, do your research.

@robsmith9029 I won't let people like you tell my daughter that because she didn't make the switch to play for Jamaica sooner so she is no longer eligible. After all that's said and done, she is still a Jamaican and has all rights as all Jamaican. With that being said, I strongly believe that the players that were there from the being shouldn't be pushed aside for the dual national who came in late, but placing deadline for them to switch isn't the answer.

@@kemarjohnson1242 your confusing what am saying t. No one has a right to play for Jamaica. No matter where you are born . Representing your country is a privilege. No where in the constitution of Jamaica it says the coach have to select you because your a citizen. If the coach wants to set a commitment date based on in what’s best for his squad that his responsibility

@@kemarjohnson1242 you are so of base . Nobody has a right to be selected to any Jamaican national team . FIFA does nt get involved in selecting players. If the coach wants to give you date to make a decision he can and nothing fifa can do about it
