This rock, aged two billion years, requires mining, and when it does fracture, it yields numerous valuable pieces. Consequently, finding an intact shungite stone of this size is exceptionally rare, explaining their scarcity in the market. Searching for large Type 1 Elite Shungite can be a challenging endeavor since such sizable pieces are exceedingly uncommon.

My shungite look very similar to this in the break points and fractions. I’m new to crystals so I’m trying to make sure mine is real. I’m seeing a lot of kinda blue hues maybe gray. It has characteristics of circle fractures like a tree would have. Also very very light but it’s not marking my hand with any black dust. Also it moves the touch screen on my phone. Does this sound real?

La shungite est un type de graphite cryptocristallin, c'est-à-dire du carbone pur (c'est-à-dire qu'en minéralogie, quelque chose est pur). Bien que l'élément carbone ait un isotope radioactif qui se génère dans la haute troposphère et s'intègre également dans les organismes vivants, sa demi-vie est de 5730 plus ou moins 40 ans, et il n'existe pas de graphite aussi jeune sur Terre, je pense. Comme il ne peut être utilisé pour déterminer l'âge que jusqu'à 60 000 ans, les graphites étant beaucoup plus anciens, il n'y a pas d'activité radioactive mesurable dans les graphites naturels.
