Thousif Syed well said, A1 and her party of goons were worse than terrorists. At that point, it was hard for civilized people to lead their lives in Tamil Nadu. Sucks like Sarath Kumar had surrendered to Jaya and so there were no problems for him. Kamal was unnecessarily targeted and he had little support from the shameless industry that he helped build and grow to the next level. That is why we need to sincerely thank the Telugu and Hindi film industries who supported Kamal at that time.
It is foolish to expect an actor to fight directly against the government. Kamal was going to lose everything he had at that time. It is like carefully removing a costly dress stuck in thorn. He couldn’t have acted rashly. ADMK party goons were not civilized by any stretch of imagination. They could have even killed Kamal and his family had he continued to fight against the government. People who think that this highlights A1s greatness are fools. It only shows how pathetic the state (and it’s democracy) was under her misrule.
