It's nice to finally see one of these movies live up to its hype. I don't care that it basically riffs on 28 Days Later/The Crazies -- it does so in an entertaining way. I felt the same about the saw scene. I was like "you've not been shy about the splatter and we get to what should be a signature effects sequence and now you go off camera!?!?!!" :p
I'm glad to hear I'm not alone on the saw scene :) I was starting to think I'd become way too desensitized. I was thinking, "This movie is insane. Am I insaner for wanting the saw scene to be the insanest thing I've ever seen?" Still a super fun movie. I'm sure I'll be watching it again.
I found this movie SOOOO disturbing. It was really hard to get through. The eye-hole scene.... and the barbed-wire-wrapped-around-the-telephone-pole-on-the-tennis-court scene... are burned into my memory forever. lol.
One of the interesting touches of the lead crazy antagonist - he’s not huge, he’s not a giant supernatural entity … he is a middle aged businessman who is introduced as socially inept and he looks perfectly anonymous. The idea that an Everyman can turn into the movie’s chief blood letter is a nice style twist I don’t recall seeing before.
@@XploitationRR Rob - what’s the title or group that does the super funky musical intro for most all of your uploads? It’s pure ear candy and I’d love to hear the source. PS: I’m still team “Sadness not a zombie movie actually” but no biggie - love your channel and your reviews of these underappreciated movies. It’s all great!
@@XploitationRR Thanks Rob - it’s fantastic! Really enjoying your channel man. A lot of your reviews provide a list of hidden treasures to go find and enjoy. It’s surprising that a good 40% of these “lost” movies will actually show up (randomly) hiding in plain sight on Tubi, Plex, etc. Thanks for all of your work!
I am going to have to check this out for sure. I hadn't heard of it until the other day, and have seen quite a bit of buzz about it. Sounds like the kind of movie we need more of these days.
Got to see this at a film festival (Ramaskrik) last year, and seeing it on a big screen was great. This type of movie isn't really my cup of tea, but I see what they did right :)
Cool. I bet it looked great on the big screen. But yeah, this movies certainly isn't for everyone. Gotta be into extreme cinema at least a little to like it much, I'd imagine.
You like what you see? Then why not tuck a few bills into my virtual waistband?

Yeah, this one hits pretty hard :)

Zombies are typically an Everyman, but, yeah, very few zombie films have a main zombie; they are normally more crowd oriented.

@@johnrapp1116 The funky music is a royalty free instrumental track from Bensound. It's called "Sexy" by Benjamin Tissot.

We definitely need way more like this -- bonkers, uncompromising, madness? Yes, please!

Reminded me of the comic series Crossed. Could have been better.
I think the director has admitted being influenced by Crossed.
100% not zombies............. Crazies...... yes.
