Kandarin wasn't worth taking even with piety. Hell Kandarin isn't even worth it for mage anymore unless you really want to farm the few bosses with elemental weaknesses.
@@homologousprime8888 idk you basically have to go kandarin + frem as mage. desert is really bad and basically the only reason to go there is for blood spells/better aoe. so in order to have a spell above level 75 you need surge spells. which require both kandarin and frem to get.
@@spicydennis This League you won't need Desert for Ancients if you're picking Grimoire, and Shadow will be obtainable from other Raids if Desert is a region you hate. BTW surge is not more powerful than Ice Barrage unless there's a +25% elemental weakness (Ice Barrage does 30 damage, while all surge spells will hit 24 at lvl 95). Ancient Magicks offer much more utility in PvM compared to standard spells, and this was quite evident during Trailblazer Reloaded with a 1.2 s attack speed. Kandarin was a must pick then for things like Occult and Tormented, but it's a terrible region for lategame, and there's even less reason for it this League.
Honestly the best way to pick regions is to just pick content you want to do, and then figure out relics/gear/skill training/etc from there. Looking at melee WTM so far, also considering A or F in place of T. Also it's pretty funny how Jagex desperately does not want people to pick Kandarin this League, given how popular it was in both Trailblazers

no shot ranged build doesnt take fremmenik for the 30 ranged attack to pair with that blowpipe, its like adding a second dragon dart to your blowpipe for strength bonus.
I wasn't going to take Valamore, but I I may now... The Bracers are best in slot ranged gloves, even quite a bit better than Varyte. I feel like a lot of people have NOT noticed this yet. The ONLY thing that the Zaryte Bracers has over it is 1 prayer bonus.
would maybe like to see the morytania gloves count torwards 1/4 of any barrows set. so you can switch up the weapon or 1 other piece of gear and still have the barrows set effect
Vardorvis is in Varlamore because he cannonically always was. the strangle woods are the first part of varlamore we got. it just isn't connected in the game yet
The Dogsword is WILD. Not only do you get the AGS boost, which gives you more damage and crazy accuracy, from the AGS boost, you get boosted SGS hp and prayer restore, you boosted BGS defence reduction, you freeze them for 20 seconds with the ZGS, and you get ANOTHER heal of up to 25 hp from the AncientGS spec. That's NUTS.
I also think it's good no matter what your primary combat style is, it's very utilitarian and you only need to use it for specs, which ranged+magic like in good spec weps anyway.
I am still not sold on valamore. I didnt know a lot of this stuff but I now think ill go Asgarnia, Frem and Morty for the torva scythe and kings rewards.

Not smart enough to know if this changes anything, but according to Scritic, the Mory Gloves when used with full Dharok APPARENTLY also gives it a 50% chance to reflect 30% damage taken. Not sure if this opens up the chance at solo Hardmode ToB like in Shattered Relics.

21:21 You can get T-bow from any raid region and one of the relics unlocks all prayers - so a Range build does NOT need Kourend at all. I think Range builds will definitely do Desert and Fremmy + some other random one (probably Varlamore if they're hardcore gamers)
i cant and wont do colosseum. let alone echo colo. makes varlamore seem like a bad pick, but the general goodness that comes from that region for everything else makes it still a good pick. Dunno how i feel wasting an echo slot this leagues for a general area with decent gear.

Wait, the crystal echo doesn't just give you the crystal armor bonuses without wearing the crystal armor? In the video they literally showed someone in crystal armor using a melee weapon when they were describing it.
@@ArneyO7I did some digging cuz I was also confused about this but you HAVE to wear the crystal armor to get the blessing effect. But it’s better than torva so it’s definitely a really good choice for a melee build
I didn't do the math, but how is the highest strength bonus not Torva from Asgarnia and Avernic Defender with your Mory pick? I'd imagine Asgarnia is way better melee than Zeah. Plus, then you have the melee special Dog Sword. Am I crazy?
I just hope the echo bosses are a fun fight rather than having annoying mechanics. Imagine if you had to keep the hp of the DKs similar otherwise they heal, get engrange etc, that would be quite difficult to pull off considering the power level in leagues. My prediction is that all the echo bosses are gonna hit through prayer based on the fact that most of the echo items give a lot of defensive stats.
That's pretty much what I plan on doing. Grabbing the grimore for rigour. You'd have fortified masori, pegs, assembler, BiS rings and amulet with the drygore blowpipe, tbow, and ZCB. Sounds pretty unmatched now with the prayer relic release. If you're worried about darts, you could do the mining relic and do amethyst darts/arrows so you aren't hardstuck on dragon bolt/dart tips.

The thousand dragon ward from the KBD gives better offensive stats than the avernic defender, don't anyone sleep on it if you're doing melee and skipping asgarnia OR morytania.
we don't really know how the combat relics are gonna be yet - but we kinda know they will be different and revolve around some combat masteries or some thing like that.
No guarantees we have the combat style specific relics like previous. Could be a different system where the relics buff all styles and tribrid is best. Even if we do have style relics they will be different each year

Why cant they ever get creative. Like 3 relics. Choose kanderin- bank note or prif. Most points to win you would need to sacrifice bank note. But those that just want a good time and dragon cup can take a easy max and bank note. Honestly it would be the biggest choice in history of leagues and honestly im not sure which i would pick.

Desert is definitely not a mage region at all this leagues, it’s completely range, offering the drygore and Masori, all raids offer shadow.

Varlamore is a top tier choice, it’s been huge in its variety of mid game options for my newer Ironman. Plus the colosseum for endgame.

WFZ is my melee plan but I’ve changed my regions a bunch in the past few days so we will see what I end up choosing

Crystal armor+ scythe is more dps and harder max hit than full torva+scythe, including the extra boost from prim boots.

You need crystal equiped. Its very slightly better than torva in mft vs mfa
