that condenser...at first look i thought it was some cardboard on it, LOL
Shows why micro channel coils are worthless. They might be marginally more efficient under test, but give some real world dirt and grease, the become plugged up and useless. Just another example of government regulations doing more harm than good.
@@DEW409 it may work.....if the owner keep cleaning it monthly. LOL no one will do it.
At first I thought it was brown wallpaper 🤣
I thought it was a panel.
Bruh it looked like there was a brown sheet on it
"it was only 120 when I was out" you sir have acclimated to hell.
Ice does tend to melt wherever he goes, sometimes before he even gets there... Hmmm
With fires that close, it's likely there's alot more particle matter in the Air, which will probably mean alot that are merely dirty will rapidly be plugged.
The fly ash from the Bobcat fire is extremely fine, and all over the San Gabriel Valley... I expect that the other fires are similar.
Big picture diagnosis? Ha, not today!!!! 😂😂😂
At first I thought that condenser was covered in cardboard. Yikes
Ahh nothing better than coming come from a long hard day at work and watching someone else working hard :)
Thanks for watching! I’m going live on RUclips this evening 9/14/20 @ 5:PM (pacific) to discuss my recent uploads and answer questions from emails, RUclips comments and the live chat, come over and check it out ruclips.net/video/dubOM81xmyA/видео.html
When he said that was a condenser I lost my mind.
Summer time Summer time.. sum sum Summer time. Tiss the season to make $$$$$. Good stuff Chris.. thanks for sharing.
Hungover in bed and a new video comes out 😁
Be careful, and stay hydrated.
Brother Chris. Just watching you as I’m cleaning up my tools in the garage. I’m glad that HVAC is where God had me for 27 years. But boy; am I glad that I’m retired and I just do it to help people out and not for a paycheck. Don’t miss the 18 hour days or the facilities guys calling from the hospital at 9 pm at night. You’re a trooper, Youngblood. Have a great Sunday. It’s a little cooler here in SoCal this week. God bless.
Almost back to normal. I like this setup for this video. Call after call was real cool.
A great demonstration of you keeping focused and somewhat calm amidst chaos. (California burning in the background) That’s an essential skill in itself especially in a smaller operation where staff is limited or you’re alone on a standby weekend.
In central Canada it’s the Colorado lows that kick us in the a$$.. nothing like looking at a provincial map showing a visible swath of destruction cut through a telecom network; public safety broadcast facilities included. Realizing all hell as broken loose, each site without power now counting down the backup batteries end. Only hours left to restore 100’s of impacted sites. It’s times like that you see the very best or worst in people.
Wild and woolly times !!
Night time work!!! I love it
Today on HVACR we have a rapid fire session. Hope you and the crew are safe dont want any fire issues.
Stay safe with the fires out there guys, us Aussies delt with fires early this year and we thank you Amercians for providing aid to us when needed. Hope we end up helping you guys again. Thanks for the videos Chris, respect your work ethic
Wow at 120 degrees outside the equipment is really put to the test for sure. Crazy.
Came home from church and seen you uploaded! Today is going to be a good day!
Your vids are like little slices of documented history, I love the way you throw in commentary about the fires and heatwave for context.
Can't wait for the wild ride of 2020 to be over, too. Stay safe, stay sane, look out for each other! ✌🏻
I really hope it ends with 2020 but at this point, who knows!
@@burningdust Probably not, but I'm willing to try again next year. This one's just been Pure Survival.
Plot twist 2020 was a walk in the park 2021 will be hell
@@nightmareinaction629 At least we'll be better prepared, our homes lined with toilet paper, respirators at the ready.
I just take it one day at a time. Expect the best, ready for the worst
Good Mashup video ! Triage at its Finest ! All my Customers that Do regular Maint Did NOT Have ANY issues during this Heat Wave ! The Other customers Well , You guys know how it Goes !
Like # 694. I Might Have to Get Me one of Those Hose Wands , Looks Pretty handy.
Interviewed for a job in Palm Desert when it was 115 degrees outside and just the walk from the car to the office was miserable. I couldn't imagine working rooftops in that kind of heat. Thankfully the craziness of the calls probably kept your mind off of it. But good on you to work and record through all of that. Excellent stuff!
Stay safe chap. Hope the fires get under control. Best wishes from a steam guy in the UK.
Man that condenser. When you were walking up on it I thought it was the full solid sheet metal side of a make up air unit with that 1980's tan paint lol. When you said 'that's a condenser' I literally was like "OH WHAT THE F"
Thanks for keeping it Real
When condensers hide their problems.
I’ve been doing supermarkets for 15 years. I’d love to work on this kind of equipment now lol
I bet its ICE cold in his house 😁😁
after heat waves pass by them you got ton of call about ac failure happened yikes
that fire cause ton of dirt in air n goes get jammed up on cooler get too hot
you did great jobs
Reminded me of my time in emergency flood services. A cold snap would happen and we'd get 3 floods in a night on top of the 12 we were already taking care of. On call sucks but being swamped is better than no work. Great video Chris.
if you want a really good clamp meter for testing for Amps I recommend KEWMATE 2012RA, I use it on a lot of the commercial electrical that I do mainly because the prong for the ammeter is really well sized and easy to get into tight spots. give it a look :)
Love the sounds of defrost cycle. Don’t miss having to thaw freezer cases in grocery stores, to many panels to remove.
Crazy temps, crazy volume, and we're *still* getting a video! My hat is off to you, Sir!
like to see the cleaning of that plugged kitchen unit.. it looked very new!
Hey Cris thank you for the big picture coupon code i used it and it knocked off over two hundred dollars off a big purchase. I really like your videos and appreciate you making the time to make them. I know they are not educational videos per say but they way you explain things and why you do them has taught me so much. Keep up the good work and the videos coming.
Great Job Chris, sure you need to be mentally ready for this heatwaves on top of lack of PM for months ... well you need to do what you need to do, and customers finally discover that theis saving on PM then go down to the drain with this emergency calls. I imagine you checking weather forecast in adavnce just to guess how many calls you are gona to get ... It is an interesting job really, but hard to balance out like you have pointed many times.
The smoke from the Yucaipa fire has just been horrendous... I was driving on the 10-West Saturday and you didn't know what exit you were at until you were right at it. Love it at 9:12 that you blew off your mirror and had a reaction of, "oh shit... Wait, nvm we all good." But honestly, with this heat, it's probably better for you to be doing evening/night calls... x.x a lot cooler.
That's pretty much what it used to be like in the 70s and 80s. Average visibility with smog was less than a mile, and not being able to see from one freeway off ramp (or bridge) to the next was normal. I'm glad those days are gone!
You should welcome those kinds of days...You're making lots of 🤑🤑
With those temperatures working on a rooftop: RESPECT to you sir!
I'm glad to see a video of yours that depicts the chaos of a "triage" style weekend. These kind of on call weekends are definitely a part of our lives. Days and weekends like this make "big picture diagnoses" quite difficult.
For where I live, its the Polar Voetexes that do it. Instead of high pressure resets it's flame sensor cleaning and plugged intake pipes (snow).
Hey i hope you are safe from those fires @HVACR VIDEOS
Nice repair video 👌
I enjoyed this mad dash through service calls!
Excellent work and thanks for the awesome content stay safe and take care
I was on call also. It was crazy.
Crazy blocked condenser coil! Got to love no maintenance in 2020
Got my waffles. Got my OJ. Got a new video. Nice way to start a Sunday morning. 👍🏾
Hey bud good work stay safe because after all this is 2020 and who knows what’s next
Stay safe man
Your inspection mirror went flying right after you checked out the fire moon and used that awesome MIlwaukee blower!!
Hey Chris, I hope you are staying safe out there with all the fires. And I think you blew your inspection mirror into that second walk-in freezer condensing unit...
You blew that guy out real good Chris!
Good 1 Chris ...
You have all the fun. I just get to work on some schools, teacher said the dew point needs addressing. 😻👌👈😋
Good work bro
Great job and video like always
thanks sir
Seems like you are on call every other weekend. God bless you lol great video!
As a business owner you're always on call. When its that hot multiple guys might be needed to get calls done. My phone is always on, even when I'm not on call I tell our guys to call if they have questions or need assistance. I've had many customers for so many years I often know what is wrong before the tech gets there, usually based off of what I told the customer they needed repaired/replaced and they opted not to. Saves the on call guy time troubleshooting something I already did.
Beard makes you look a lot more serious. definitely complements the shave.
I know Your feeling bro, i have 80 convinience stores no contract, innthe border from Arizona on MX and ir always happens if we do boy balance the charge an cleaning deeply all condensers
Great stuff... Having been a tech rep in a different field, I recognize that holiday on call chaos. Murphy works overtime and never gets tired! ;)
Putting in the hard hours showing your people how it’s done! I do the same because it sets the bar for them a little higher.
Yes my Labor Day on call weekend was brutal too
Ive had many days of craziness. Calls coming in like mad. Back in may when it got hot. I literally had 32 calls come in in a matter of 15 minutes. You are good man with ethics and morals. We don't get nearly as crazy as you do, i am in commercial/ industrial. Good luck with all the heat and fires in so cal.
Great stuff. Love Sunday videos, gets me mentally prepared for the week. Thanks for sharing 👍
1:42 I wonder what has that compressor all *waterworked* up 😆
2:06 Oh, I thought the compressor was leaking or something 🤷♂️
Hands full XD. The things we do just to keep living.
Mans using more water than the firefighters taking out that fire!
Good one Chris
Of personal interest - the clothing you wear to protect you from the heat in that kind of climate. Hats and shirts. Love to know what you wear to not melt. I know what you mean by the year 2020.. its got a few months left... lets not piss it off :)
👍. 😂🤣😂🤣
Love it bro. Any content is good content.
Strong work. 💪💪
Speaking of that one about the York unit being "AS FRUSTRATING AS A STICKY BOOGER" I watched that one before I started watching this one
Great video!
Your mirror is behind the compressor @9:13
can we please get a full video unedited on the coil cleaning for that unit!!
The ashes are clogging filters up!
🤔
Lots of maintenance work! 😲
😬
At least we always gonna have a job man im telling you its amazing the things you can find when checking out a unit
Nice video
Your mirror is inside the unit you used the blower to clean. Between the compressor and the fan motor.
You might be tired but business going Splendid
the evaporator and a.c. condenser caked well more work for you that how tech like it for time lol
3:55 I legit thought that was a piece of cardboard on that condenser 😂
Imagine if the mirror fell into fan! 😯
That first condenser I thought has cardboard stuck to it!!! How does it still work!
"That is condenser, guys". Wow. That is like a solid wall. I tough this is some plywood, or metal panel.
As someone from michigan, I can only feel bad for you... 80 degrees is considered hot here.
😂 "That's a condenser guys.."
Nice i just started to follow you i like how you explain the whole troubleshooting at the end of the video also i want to ask you if can explain how ice machines work like the components what goes first
Holy Cow! 🤯
After The Fires are Done. I’m Going to Be Going on a Outdoor Condenser Cleaning extravaganza.
Nice carpet on that condenser I can only imagine the problems that the ash in the air is going to cause in the upcoming weeks, I use to blow them out with unregulated co2 tank. 121 ° is not something I could handle I'm more of a 65 to 75° person.
3:53 HOLY CRAP that's dirty. And the hottest i have been in (Australia) is 52 degrees (or 125 Fahrenheit) and very high humidity lived in middle of know where one summer and i kid you not the freaking water in the metal tanks started to evaporate was not fun and way to hot to work.
So this Vegas trip nor cal Dave said your setting up 😂 🧐 I’m down coming from va
0:07 wtf??bruuuh i thought it was a piece of cardboard to cover up LOL
0:05 And I thought that was a plywood.... Jeez... 10 years no cleanup?
As some people have suggested, maybe ashes?
I thought cardboard myself.
to me, this showed what real life tech and field work is like, highly unpredictable and unknown, as are the customers! you just never know what you'll find/get.
exactly!! I’m going live on RUclips this evening 9/14/20 @ 5:PM (pacific) to discuss my recent uploads and answer questions from emails, RUclips comments and the live chat, come over and check it out ruclips.net/video/dubOM81xmyA/видео.html
wow you got the el derodo fire on camra so crazy out there right now.
If you hadn’t pointed out that was the condenser on the one unit, I’d of sworn it was a panel.
Never grab a motor to.check temp. Always use the back of your hand. Any short to ground with a bad grounding system and it will grab you
High ambient and ash clogged/neglected coils. No wonder they are having trouble
