      Magnets are a source of energy but Free? Nah! First Understand the role of friction from surfaces rubbing together, (consider this anything spinning has to overcome friction from air and the constant pull of gravity for starters) and you’ll quickly realize, before you say anything is free, the idea of perpetual motion is only possible in the head of people but never in real life.

    Neodymium magnet heated losses field. So probably such ceramic (possibly aluminum or magnesium iron boron (titanate)) could easily become magnetized by simply heating up the crystalline structure (and allowing it to then cool) in the presence of a magnetic field in order to REMAGNETIZE.

    Kindly advise ... helping a elementary age kid in a science fair and iam interested in doing the experiment with the apples and Neodymium magnet. I will also do one more where we will place the magnet at a height and suspend 10 coins below showing magnetism. What size magnet should i purchase? Will 1/2 x1/2x1/4 inch be a good enough size for both these experiments? Or is 20x10x3 mm good enough? TIA.

    Did the magnet heated by the torch regain it's magnetism after cooling ? I believe that nickel looses it's magnetic properties when heated above a certain temp and regains it after cooling, while those high power neodymium will loose their magnetic properties if heated past a certain temp.

    So the matches stick to the magnet because they become "pure" graphite, right? While the fruits you used all contain sugar. Is the sugar molecule ferro-magnetic dia or para?

    • @fartwrangler
      @fartwrangler 2 года назад

      The magnet is acting on the metal rod stuck into the fruit.

    • @timhastings6382
      @timhastings6382 Год назад

      I don't think they become graphite. I believe the match head color is caused by a non magnetic iron oxide that when burnt changes to a magnetic form of iron oxide or a form of iron. Also a form of graphite called Pyrolytic graphite is diamagnetic and is repelled by a magnet.

      it

    • @timhastings6382

      Sorry for my English, but I'd try to explain what is happening there. Let's look at the ex. #1. Ok, the solenoid (any coil with amperage) creates around el-magnetic field, so it goes like current direction - from '+' to '-'. The current source is there a vattery, and field around it creates also a spin momentum. If you imagine your right hand spinning around the el-magn field like skrewing a skrewdriver, you'll understand the direction of that momentum. In 1st exp, momentum's direction is ckw, so solenoid starts to spinning cause it's too light. In the second exp there works the same principle but soil is replaced by foil, and moves the battery itself. I'm hope I helped u) Sorry for English again

      Neodymium magnets can erase/practically destroy credit cards and VHS tapes. The strong magnetic fields produced by these magnets is enough to erase or scramble the data. Since hard drives also store their data on magnetic media, you would expect "similar results".
