Correct me if I'm wrong but I imagine why they're going after Binance and Coinbase is because they're basically becoming banks in of themselves. Crypto is supposed to be decentralized, but these institutions are centralizing it and are by default becoming like crypto banks. I had experience with Johnson Nikon, My initial investment capital was 3btc but made 11btc as profit in just the first week of trade. It was very big for me considering the fact that i have lost money in the past trying to trade on my own.

My husband is very much old school and thinks he needs to keep his dollars in the bank/system. I had an awful time convincing him finally to put his retirement into precious metals but he did. I bought more metals this week and asked him if he wanted to put some of his bank accounts in ( he has a total of about $5,000 sitting in the bank) but he refused) I took every last bit out except what I needed for expenses and put it in metals. I know that the dollar will soon be worthless, I've felt it for a long time. Started buying metals in 2017.
Metal is absolutely better than worthless paper or numbers in computer but why not just buy a rental property? Or anything else that actually brings income and/or builds equity
It's really simple math that people don't do because the fed gov created this illusion. In year 2000, average home price in US was about 120k. 2023, or about 20 years later, average us home price is about 400k. It nearly 4x our cost of living. So, if you're a guy who makes 50k a year in year 2000, you now have to make 200k a year to be able to live the same living standard 20 years ago. So, what does this mean? It means, your dollar just lost about 75% purchasing power/value. Keeping dollar is a losing investment that people don't seems to see pass the illusion. However, everything is still purchased using dollars so you can't really do much until something better comes along. Keeping money in the bank is a losing investment, like extremely horrible investment where one1 dollar in 2020 is now worth a quarter. Effectively, the gov taxed you extra 75% by printing money.

Is anyone else out there confused? I'm always suspicious of people telling me to invest in something they are willing to take my fiat money and supposedly give me something of supposed value. Shouldn't the gold and silver sellers hang on tight to all they have. And share with their friends and family? Why are they willing to take fiat garbage for the real thing?

I think hard assets will be the benchmark for any currency. Currencies vary. Gold silver and assets that hold their value because of their rarity will set a standard of what they are worth. Dollars will be a novelty item in 20 yrs

Really? I listened to Bob and bought a few hundred K of gold in Oct 2012 @ $1,711. When I had to raise cash in 2018, I sold it @ $1,235 - but it never goes down so that's good! I told the buyer that Bob said it never goes down and he did nothing but laugh at me. What went wrong?? Actually I and many I know have lost vast fortunes on gold. When you add the economic loss of not buying AAPL instead, it's staggering. But I should have waited, right? Sure. Imagine that luxury of time. When your kid needs a $250k surgery you don't tell him that you just need a little more time for Gold to reverse course.

The US Treasury is supposed to back the Federal Reserve Note with Bond sales.
Like the US Banking system that Congress has allowed a very long leash, the ability to convert Bonds to Cash has caused a few Banks to attempt to convert Treasury Notes they held as reserve currency in case of emergency cash crisis, has now run into the US Treasury selling T-Notes at a higher interest rate.
The Banks might run into a Currency shortage as they struggle to sell off the Bonds that might not pay as well as the new ones from the Treasury.
Does that help you understand what form of pressure is facing the US Treasury as BRICS Banks begin to sell Treasury Notes and Foreign Interests like the Saudis, might consider the investment something they might enjoy investing in?
As the Credit Suisse Bank went Tits Up, Saudis moved a few billion into a BRICS Bank, that was previously invested in the Swiss Bank.
The Currency Crisis of 1967 appears to have never actually gone away.
It has been converted into a more complex and difficult system to support.

Beyond the regulators, banks have told us they are so good they can regulate themselves. They are supposed to "know your customer". Banking has been shady for a long time, and it's heading for a really dark place now.

This morning I just paid $15.50 for a ham and egg on a roll, a cup of coffee and two newspapers. I got four dollars and fifty cents change out of a twenty and this was at a local grocery store not Starbucks!

As long as you are allowed to exchange anything for gold on demand. That is gold back, no restrictions or so called laws.
And it will NEVER be allowed to the common person. Remember private ownership of gold bullion was ILLEGAL prior to 1971. The movie "Goldfinger" mentions it and was based on destroying The world's economy by irradiating the gold supply.

If BRICS is serious about the new currency, they'll need to back it up twice! First thing, attach a starting fixed amount of Gold to 1kg of Hydrogen. This is a substitute concept to the old petro-dollar which attached energy to a fiat currency. The problem with fiat currency is 'trust in government'. This is why we have the current economic failure.

Good one. I was thinking about folks selling their physical. I was damn poor growing up, and we frequently sold/pawned stuff. They always paid for the weight, not sentimental, ornate designs, etc. I know some places may a little premium back on some but not all gold/silver. I try to get a good deal on weight, premium and from reliable sources.

Obviously, non fiat but how long before they remove the trust by removing the gold backing. The dollar was gold backed at one time.

@@SamuelHeins , when a majority of nations have to back their currency by multiple universal rare commodities that can be exchanged, then you will have a globally stable currency. Until that time it's just fiat (trust).
Is losing the world reserve status really a negative? 2 thoughts: with the advent of the Eurodollar its out of our control and second it drives us out of all manufacturing except making dollars. Further - the US Gov';t is already the largest holder of Gold and Bitcoin.

Gold would skyrocket, silver as well. The USD would crash and burn. Would be wise to invest 30% of your net just in case.
To clarify golds minimum of 400% increase would be immediate, while the initial spike of silver would be far less. Silver is for the long game. Its value will slowly and steadily grow.
