I'm a retired optician and you I really hope hope you didn't do any permanent damage to your eyes. Even taking a small peek at it without the proper eyewear could harm your eyes. Even worse that flat thing your were using sure didn't appear to an approved type of eyewear. Last time we had an eclipse I was still working and we had a number of people that damaged their eyes by looking at it then. I'm sure the same has happened this time as well. I live and worked in the St. Louis area which was in the full eclipse back then. This time it was 98% but just less than 35 miles from being in the 100% area. I highly suggest that you get your eyes checked soon. I believe I saw you wearing glasses in a few videos. So an eye exam maybe due anyway.
