That was a heck of a lot more than 2 inch-lbs. I'm probably going to buy this motor and first thing I'll do is replace those flathead machine screws with stainless hex bolts so I can use a proper torque wrench. Nothing wrong with eyeballing it, but I never second guess teams of pro engineers when it comes to torque specs.

why would you pump oil from the bottom?

If you fill from the top it will get an air bubble and not fill all the way. The manufacturer says to fill from the bottom up. This is standard procedure for most outboard lower units.

no, just read the manual.

He said 80-90 weight oil. He said amount in ounces too. Plus you don’t really to know amount cuz you fill from bottom to top holes.

Why didn't you explain why you need to fill from the bottom and not the top hole? its really important to know this so folk do it properly.
