I agree with Guy Destin , the American Flag should be flown @ Half Mass for Sir Sidney Poitier - To Sir with Love 💕- The Finest example of a Man that I had the Pleasure & Privilege of viewing onscreen. I have lived my life attempting to emulate his example and those of my elders Born in the 1920s. I became aware of Mr Poitier in 1979,@

His finest performance to me is in A Raisin in the Sun. I have loved that film since I was a teenager and it's one of my favorites. I had deep respect and admiration for this beautiful, (inside & out) and very tall man. I've been watching his movies all week and I'm in awe of his work. May Sidney Poitier rest in eternal peace 🕊️.

Sydney Pottier, have live a long life, by way of God. He went through some evil ways, no fault of his own, due to racial tensions. I thank God for his success. I pray that he has made God so please, as God asked of all of us. 👈🙏❤️

If you want to know what all our early thespians went through, what they laid down for us, read these 3 bios - Sidney Poitier, Cecily Tyson, Harry Belafonte. As a child activist who joined Bronx CORE at age 13,
I knew all of them as Civil Rights
Heroes, Artists that made the impossible possible, & Humanitarians who showed us how to walk in this world!

If anyone can go back and watch Guess Whos Coming to DInner. You will see Sidney Poitier stood on his own merits. In that movie he said "You may be able to do the watusi but we ARE the watusi, lol..He gave them something they could absorb into their minds as white people and they never forgot what he said either.

That man Sidney was a true icon in the film industry. He had humble beginnings and never let up reaching toward his goals in his industry. He lived his life like it was golden, regal, royal, a good long full life from God. I salute him as a legend and pray that his legacy lives on and on. I thank him and love him for never giving up the fight for equality, a true trail blazer. Boom shackalaka (94 years) May he rest in sweet peace. My condolences to his loved ones.

Mr Martin, I just want to thank you for this incredibly wonderful tribute to Sir Sidney and his endless body of works. I had the great fortune of meeting Sir Sidney on two occasions and the story is incredible. I feel so blessed and honored to have met this giant of a man that embodies so much of what is important and what is possible. I happened upon this video and I am so glad I did. This has been a beautifully enjoyable and emotionally charged two hours. He conquered every script he decided to take on and he did it his way much like when he schooled those reporters. Whatever was in a script that did not represent him or the race well, he requested that it was changed or taken out if not he turned it down. The time I had with him talking about his life, there are no words, again thank you for this humbly beautiful tribute to this amazing man that I loved so well. I am grateful that he had a lovely wife and family that appreciated him.
