👀 DADDY LONG LEGS looks smart for Willie Mullins | Racing TV

- One to watch out for.
Daddy Long Legs, by former champion three-year-old Almanzor and a €210,000 purchase by top connections after just missing out in a sole Flat run at Saint-Cloud, makes a big impression on his second career start - on debut for Willie Mullins and on his first appearance in Ireland and over jumps - to run out a striking winner from good novice benchmark Irish Panther at Thurles.
Ridden by Paul Townend and owned by Joe and Marie Donnelly - of Shishkin fame and a host of other high-class performers - Daddy Long Legs has a Grade One entry over Christmas and it certainly looks like such aims are not unfanciful after this winning performance by 13 lengths and one in which he finished with plenty in the tank, hitting the line really strongly.
Townend said after the race: "He was smart and quickened well for a horse who ran over 1m4f in France and I thought he justified a big price tag.
"What his future is I don't know but he couldn't have done any more than turn up and win the way he did. I hadn't sat on him a whole lot at home but he had been working well and from the first day I schooled him he was a natural to jump.
"He is a fine horse, won like we hoped he would and he would justify being in the Grade 1 novice hurdle at Leopardstown over Christmas. After that we'll learn more."

Very impressive
This horse is Definitely Smart. Love the name! His legs are LONG and very impressive!!
Excellent pedigree. His Grade 1 entries show the esteem in which in he is held at Closutton.
This horse needs following. What a great performance. On the Cheltenham short list.
Seriously impressed could be the best we seen from the juveniles this this
Impressive
Very nice performance
I took 33s for the baist for the Supreme before the race. When you see Mullins put a 4 year old against older horses in what was a pretty decent race then you sit up and take notice. I’ve been gagging to see it on a racetrack since Mullins bought it
He reminded me of Faugheen the way he quickened away.He do well to be as good as that legend but he looks really talented I've backed him at 33s for the Supreme.
Jeriko Du Reponet runs at Newbury, tomorrow. Hope he's as good as they say he is
Let's hope the covers work it's pretty frosty and low temps tonight.
@@suemaher5282 I live just down the road, from Newbury, and it is absolutely freezing. Must be a big doubt about tomorrow
@@Bubba2601 I'm near too and it's not looking gd. We can hope
Friday might escape but Saturday very doubtful I’d say.
great name
Made it look easy
@@Rebeljustforkicks should we go somewhere alittle more quiet…?
Yuck what a creep 🤮
Nice horse but the form doesn't look that strong. How many horses has beaten Irish panther now? Hmm
Looks potentially useful this one
You must be a genius
@@JPwhoknows sarcastic comment i take as a compliment, stick to your sleazy pub and beer goggles and leave the potential spotting to the pros
@@JackBurton-w7x “to the pros” Christ, that’s amazing you had the pro eye to spot that this horse could be “potentially” useful. Keep up the great work
