No joke not even an hour after watching this video I picked up a legendary explosive minigun exactly where one would expect to find such a powerful weapon, ...from a Radstag
It was my first ever playthrough in which I got a Kneecapper's Pipe Piercing Auto Rifle, and man oh man that was legendary (no pun intended) :P Since then i've started 5+ new games and hadn't gotten it again a SINGLE time, even on Very Hard difficulty! *To be fair,I DID get a Kneecapper's Auto Laser Pistol in my current run,so I'm once again a happy camper :3*
Best weapon I’ve ever encountered was in a recent playthrough, a wounding laser pistol. Slap an automatic mod with beam splitter, each individual shot does regular damage plus 25 bleeding damage. 20 bullets melt anything instantly.
Just started a recent playthrough about a week ago and by level 17 I had a Wounding Combat Shotgun. Even better, I was doing a shotgun playthrough anyway, so this weapon was a very welcome addition to my arsenal. Still hoping for an explosive shotgun, but this will do for now.
I finished the mission 'defending the castle', i had killed a legendary supermutant or two, i didn't think much of them...right after i finished the mission i saw Sheffield holding a two-shot gauss rifle...i dont know how or where he got it, probably off the legendary supermutants i killed...but i was real happy.
I went to a settlement in Far Harbor; apparently I hadn't been there in awhile 'cause the Workshop had over 6,000 caps in it from two shops, and every single settler (21 total) had a Laser Gatling. I didn't give them it, where'd they all come from? Also, I sent four of the settlers away and with me still there mere seconds it filled back up to 21 settlers. Never saw that happen before.
Voult Bioy man there was this legendary alpha deathclaw I found at like level 15 on normal difficulty. I spent over half an hour and basically all my ammo to kill it. Kneecappers baton.
@@SAMAKUS actually I'm fairly sure I had one in Fallout New Vegas is the Rose like fireballs and then those fireballs explode I love that many I love that flamethrower.
I prefer instigating gauss because from what I can tell 2 shot doubles the base damage and then adds on extra damage from sneak bonus perks etc, where as instigating doubles all of it. I may be wrong but from what I can tell that's the case.
+Matthew with the instigating you get double damage plus sneak at the fist shot. the two shot gauss does that and double damage every other shot... the choice is easy
+Beni- Oh yes but the 2 shot has 1 round at the full modded damage and then 1 at the unmodded damage meaning that it never has double damage once modded
I actually prefer the explosive assault rifle to the explosive minigun - the bonus modifiers from Mister Sandman (with a suppressor) help close in on the damage from the minigun while being lighter and avoiding the pesky spin-up time.
Richard Bernard I know I'm six months late, but people seem to be getting it a lot more in the abandoned house, if you haven't found it already. But I got lucky because I fast traveled to Jamaica Plain and came across 2 Deathclaws. One Albino I think, and one Legendary Savage, and the Savage dropped it. xD
Instigating one is better. Two-shot doesnt deal double damage. It adds damage of UNMODDED shot to your current (modified) one and splits the damage between these two shots. Instigating Gauss rifle deals actual double damage to targets at full health (basically 99% of your enemies), making one-shotting easier.
Thank you for posting. I think the explosive combat shotgun was my favourite, as it takes combat shotguns from being fairly useless at long range to being devastating at long range, especially with the Demolition Expert perk. Shotgun shells are plentiful and cheap, too, and you also gain the benefits of the Rifleman perk.
The Megaton Rifle (or generic Explosive Radium Rifle) are awesomely useful. Semi-auto to full auto, capable of being scoped and suppressed, damage increased with 4 perks (Commando, Demolition Expert, Mister Sandman assuming suppressor, and Nuclear Physicist). Good at sniping distances and at closer range. Better even than the Spray and Pray AND more versatile to boot.
I prefer the irradiating Fatman. (It checks out lore-wise.) Also fun is the bleed effect on any fast-firing weapon. Killed the Mirelurk Queen that way - Kneecapper Pipe + Bleed Pipe.
3:49 I myself run an explosive pipe pistol with 48 bullet mag, to really take out anything that comes for me, early game it was good for taking out high level ghouls, now with rank 5 gunslinger i can also take out stuff like mirelurk's shell etc, sure is fun seeing enemies with every limb crippled.
One of my favorites is a minigun that does 25 points of bleeding damage per shot. While not as spectacular as the explosive minigun, it's awesome if you get it in the early game stages like I did. It's extremely satisfying to squeeze off a burst and watch your target's health bar drain long after you let off the trigger.
Nope. The highest DPS gun in the game is actually quite counterintuitive. It's the explosive laser rifle. People always think that the explosive gatling or minigun will get the highest DPS, but they're wrong. The laser rifle when modded correctly is the highest possible DPS gun in the game. You need to add a beam splitter to make it a shotgun, and then ignore the actual laser damage and optimize for maximum fire rate. It ends up as follows: 30 (with explosive perk) * 6 shots (beam splitter) * RPS (75/10, 7.5 if maximized) = 1,350 DPS from just the explosive damage alone. If you compare it to a gatling/laser minigun you only get: 30 (with explosive perk) * RPS (272/10, 27.5 if maximized) = "only" 816 DPS. You can add back in the actual bullet DPS for both if you want but it only makes the explosive laser shotgun pull even further ahead. It's true that the gatling and laser miniguns can fire for much longer but I never said that it was "the best gun," only the highest DPS. Truth be told though, no creature in FO4 has a healthpool that is greater than a single clip of the explosive laser shotgun.
2 problems with this A) without console commands you can't get explosive bullets on energy weapons. B) an automatic laser rifle with a Beam splitter kicks so much it becomes virtually impossible to use. your character ends up shooting the ceiling after about half a second.
11k+ hours in FO4 between challenges and competitions. Best Legendary weapon = Wounding Pipe Pistol. You can easily bump it up to a Rapid automatic version as fast as you can find the shops. The 15 extra damage per shot is more than the base damage of the shots. The Most abundant ammo in the game, and 1:1 cost with a minimal effort toward CHA from shops. Actually, I think the Kiloton Radium Rifle is absolutely the best weapon in the game and probably even in survival mode, because of the exploding rounds and the radiation damage that it inflicts. Then, get the mods to increase the modifiers to the explosives and to increase the radiation damage!
Ok man, here is a tip, use an accelerated barrel on the explosive minigun, as the blasts do more than the balistic damage, so your dps will be WAY higher, good vid man! :)
Automatics and Shotguns with the Wounding Legendary effect are pretty solid, since that damage stacks pretty fast without the falloff of poison and fire, plus bleed damage is basically true damage. Explosive's still objectively stronger, but if you run with companions and don't go for a high charisma build and don't want to blow them to kingdom come, it's a decent option.
Blow them to kingdom come lmao 🤣 Yeah but for real, Explosive weapons can get crazy, especially indoors. On multiple occasions my game has crashed due to random objects flying through the air when I rapid fire indoors
I found a 2 shot laser musket which i thought as a good sniper weapon. Then i modded it with a six crank system and it is a complete beast. 12 times damage as well as stealth and rifle bonuses
+Anthony Rodriguez No, it's actually a thing. No bloody idea *why* I need 50% more limb damage on a portable nuke cannon that reduces my problems to giblets, but I'm sure I'll find a use for it.
One I randomly came across was a Wounding Combat Shotgun. That weapon can put around 3-9 shots in almost any enemy and their health just melts! It is so satisfying!
45. ammo is more expensive, heavier, and does less damage per pound in survival. 5mm is everywhere with the first rank of scrounger and 45. is better used in radium rifles and combat rifles.
This was already worth watching to learn that throwing Demolition Expert on with your explosive combat beefs it up. Thought never even crossed my mind.
First off dumbass not everyone is playing PC .and a lot of us have vanilla game with only a few of the things added on by DLCs.. so thums down for being cheating ass. I also like to give you another one for being a dick about it.
Just happened to get the explosive shotgun randomly and it was devastating. The only drawbacks being it can hurt you if used too close and can cause unintended friendly fire.
Furious Extended Ripper. With more damage being done with each consecutive hit, the longer you keep it on an enemy, the more damage it does. Its my favorite melee
I was blessed by a Legendary Explosive Combat Shotgun without even farming, much less killing an enemy, It was just in the chest Mr. Nakano gives you the key to after finishing Far Harbor
I found the Explosive Minigun when i was protecting a checkpoint in the southeastern part of the map... but then a fucking synth grabbed it and didn't even drop it so then i just killed the checkpoint synths... i then named it: Michael Bay's Wet Dream...
Just a tip to everyone who is still playing this If you get the perk to max for Rifleman, you can boost the damage of both Overseers Guardian and The Last Minute which are both considered OP weapons
I know this Video is already a few years old but the Explosive Minigun with the Fast firing Barrels is very OP Nuka mirelurk queen is shred with in 2-3 seconds
Hey, TwoDynamic, how were you basically sniping with an explosive shotgun? Does the explosive legendary effect just disregard range or do you have a special mod setup on the gun itself? I'd like to know because I rip my problems with a bleed-damage shotgun, but I got an explosive shotty a couple days ago and am seriously reconsidering which one to keep handy at all times...
get the explosive trait on a laser rife...upgrade the muzzle to a scatterbeam and hey presto, you have a lightweight, accurate, very long ranged explosive laser shotgun which decimates cover :) you're welcome!
As mentioned several times here. This isn't possible without mods or console commands since energy weapons cannot normally have the explosive prefix. IE-outright cheating. Laser rifles tend to have horribbad recoil with the scatterbeam attached. So its neither accurate nor long ranged outside of VATS.
I'll pull it out long enough for you to kiss the cheeks bro. It's not accurate, or effective at range. Fun to use? Sure I'll agree with that. Everyone's got their own version of fun, I personally don't like the explosive effect on energy weapons though, because the way it switches the weapon to hit-scan.
Add the improved automatic barrel. I run that every time I get a wounding laser pistol, which is actually frequent in my runs. Improved auto spitter wounding laser is devastating. Can't even imagine what it would be with explosive and demo expert.
Radical conversion is what I'm using as a primary weapon right now, followed by a lucky machete for up-close devastation. I have tons of other legendary weapons, but in survival mode you have keep your ammo load as light as possible.
My favorite drops I've gotten are mainly just for lols. The freezing shishkebab and kneecapper's walking cane will always have special places in my inventory.
I maxed out Demolitions Expert and Rifleman on my character, and the explosive shotgun for me became so powerful on Very Hard difficulty that I ended up putting on display in Sanctuary just to have some challenge in the game again. I fully upgraded that combat shotgun to advanced as well, so it literally was just point and shoot to win.
Pretty cool. Never watched any FO videos and I have all these guns and use them regularly. The kneecapped, shotgun and mini gun are crazy op. Some explosive magnums and two shot snipers are insane as well. Also sneak weapons with stealthboy are dope especially pistols with poison and a silencer.
I got the explosive shotgun thanks to your farming guide and with my explosion perk fully unlocked now too, its AMAZING! So thank u sooo much for both these vids!! Its the only gun i use basically xD
I came across the explosive mini gun today doing one of those rogue robot missions, and it was dropped by a legendary tankbot. I'm going to give it to one of the Minute men at the Castle because I'm happy with my Kiloton Radium Rifle.
The explosive minigun is what I use in the glowing sea. The rest of the time I use a mighty gauss rifle (lost my last minute gauss somewhere!), neverending assault rifle, overseers guardian and plasma infused combat rifle. Sadly the only two shot guns I have are the 10mm pistol and .44 pistol.
What about a wounding automatic laser shotgun? Fire Rate of 104 Splits into 5 lasers per shot Each laser does 10 base damage + 25 wounding damage Wounding effect stacks That's 175 per shot and it's rapid fire And 5,250 damage per 30 round clip (assuming you landed all your shots)
I LOVE the explosive mini-gun. I never used big guns in 3 or NV....never had a desire to use them. But the explosive mini-gun is insane. On hard difficulty I can kill a Behemoth in less than a second. But my favorite part is watching Mirelurks explode and Yao Guis go flying off in the distance. Sure, the physics are unrealistic, but that just makes it even better in my opinion. I think I have over 20K rounds for the damn thing......."Here human, human, human......" "Here mutant, mutant, mutant......"
I used the Gauss Rifle as a silent Ninja sniper. Around 1000 dmg per shot x2(legend) x 4.0(sneaking and silencer) x1.25 (Nuka World Bonus) kills any enemy/boss in the game with one shot. And the fact that you can add a silencer to it makes it so nobody even notice you. Using Vats you can even activate a crit shot... powerlevel over 9000!!!
When I got fallout 4 I wondered when I would get a really overpowered weapon. 2 days after fallout 4 came out, I got a explosive minigun from my first legendary enemy I encountered. Ever since then it has been the only gun I have ever used in fallout 4. Gatling lasers and gauss rifles didn't stand a chance to this gun. Maxed heavy gunner, maxed lone wanderer, and maxed demolition expert perk means my minigun does 114 base damage and a good amount of explosive damage. In close quarter combat I cant tell anyone how many times I have died due to my own gun. I love my shredder.
I found an exploding Minigun myself at Pickman's Gallery. The first time I killed this legendary raider, her minigun had a freezing effect. The next time I killed her, the Commonwealth was mine. I named it RYNO(Rip You a New One), I know I borrowed it from Rachet and Clank, I didn't try to copywrite it.
My favorite generic legendaries are the ones that do 25% more damage, & the explosive/freezing/incendiary ones bc they add 15 points of damage to any guns. The ones that do 50% more damage against certain enemies are always good too - especially ones for super mutants, but also for bugs & mirelurks. As for apparel, the best generic legendaries are the ones that slow time, reduce damage against certain enemies (especially humans & mutants), & the ones that add strength for extra carry weight.
Farming doesn't seem to work on PC. I do a quick save, enter National Guard Training Yard and let it auto save and when I load back to the quick save to re roll the effect it is the same effect
I've gotten tons and tons of kneecapper weapons but left them because the effect didn't sound like a good one,But now i know its a awesome effect, thanks.
I got the explosion mini gun from a legendary alpha deathclaw at the top right side of the map there is a tower that at the top has a circuit breaker and when turned on depending what difficulty your on two deathclaws will spawn
Kinda off track but if you equip a jetpack on your power armor, travel to the place where you find Billy and then jetpack up onto the nearest overpass and go to Quincy , kill Clint and then snipe the rest Sorry for making this long comment
I'm stuck between using my full set of X-01 Mk.VI power armor but having low damage with guns or just don't use the power armor and get devastating gun damage. Like the Big Boy (a fat man that shows another projectile), when I'm in power armor, it deals 524 base damage but without the PA, I get 680. PA or not?
I wouldn't use a fat man as a weapon I would use it as an "oh shit" weapon use some thing with your build whether heavy gunner, rifleman, etc. Having a main type of weapon will suit you better
bigredmonster589 I actually use it when i encounter a mythic deathclaw, lvl 120 deathclaw while im only lvl 100, which sucks cuz the deathclaw's much stronger than me so i wanna kill it as fast as i can. And i actually have a main rifle i use. Plasma Rifle with sniper barrel and reflex sight.

Blow them to kingdom come lmao 🤣
Yeah but for real, Explosive weapons can get crazy, especially indoors.
I have a kneecapper minigun
Me too
Neecapper fat man
Lol u wish
+Anthony Rodriguez No, it's actually a thing. No bloody idea *why* I need 50% more limb damage on a portable nuke cannon that reduces my problems to giblets, but I'm sure I'll find a use for it.
+MeijerGames I have a fat man that does double damage if the target is at full health I called him MIRVin
One I randomly came across was a Wounding Combat Shotgun. That weapon can put around 3-9 shots in almost any enemy and their health just melts! It is so satisfying!
4:30 Deathclaws be like: I'm a fish now I need water!
I love my Explosive minigun - with a high speed barrel, It just mows down groups of enemies XD hence why i renamed it EndGame
Spray n prey does more damage then the explosive minigun
45. ammo is more expensive, heavier, and does less damage per pound in survival. 5mm is everywhere with the first rank of scrounger and 45. is better used in radium rifles and combat rifles.
Nah the raw explosive damage is the same but the miniguns much faster
@@dylanharshman712 you mean like the kiloton radium rifle
Yeah I know everyone hates on the spray and pray but it’s really good
This was already worth watching to learn that throwing Demolition Expert on with your explosive combat beefs it up. Thought never even crossed my mind.
Rare? *Opens Console*
Carson Siemieniec u
First off dumbass not everyone is playing PC .and a lot of us have vanilla game with only a few of the things added on by DLCs.. so thums down for being cheating ass. I also like to give you another one for being a dick about it.
@@christyshultz6443 so angry from a 2 year old comment get a life
@@r0cky491 nobody's talking to you dumbass.
Christy Shultz I'm just curious, why are you so angry? Not trying to start any beef with you
Just happened to get the explosive shotgun randomly and it was devastating. The only drawbacks being it can hurt you if used too close and can cause unintended friendly fire.
Furious legendary effect is also useful
Furious Extended Ripper. With more damage being done with each consecutive hit, the longer you keep it on an enemy, the more damage it does. Its my favorite melee
The Harvester tho...
I have and explosive combat shotgun its beast
I was blessed by a Legendary Explosive Combat Shotgun without even farming, much less killing an enemy, It was just in the chest Mr. Nakano gives you the key to after finishing Far Harbor
"Not the most powerful weapon to find"
IT ALMOST ONE SHOTS DEATHCLAWS
Spray n Pray + Overpowered Mods + Max Commando Perk = Be The Final Boss of Fallout 4
so what we get drunk. so what we smoke weed. we're just have fun, and we dont Care who sees
So what we go out?
That’s how its supposed to be
Living young and wild and free!
Nice vid. The best thing about this is the young, wild and free song rofl
I found the Explosive Minigun when i was protecting a checkpoint in the southeastern part of the map... but then a fucking synth grabbed it and didn't even drop it so then i just killed the checkpoint synths... i then named it: Michael Bay's Wet Dream...
The generator room doesn't only drop lower end items. It has dropped a two shot railway rifle for people at that location.
no idea what is that
2nd and love your vids
+TwoDynamic this is Gael and the secret locations in the abandoned shack it did not have xo1 power armor I just got normal power armor what do I do?
tyler jett lvl 6
+TwoDynamic hey dynamic I was wondering how did you get it to show the enemy level in vats plus help
+Gael Cruz you have to be at least level 30 to obtain it
+Adolfo Ramirez It's the perk, "awarness" ( i think it's on Perception )
I am glad I got the top 2, those guns are on my level 74, and pretty much make the game a piece of cake. You literally cannot hide from them.
never ending rolling pin...
Your lying because "never ending" only works on shooting weapons
what? obvious joke not so obvious? XD
just wait till the goul slayers gamma gun...
may be not that useless but I just get the other night a fatman that makes enemy frenzy XD
Just a tip to everyone who is still playing this
If you get the perk to max for Rifleman, you can boost the damage of both Overseers Guardian and The Last Minute which are both considered OP weapons
I know this Video is already a few years old but the Explosive Minigun with the Fast firing Barrels is very OP Nuka mirelurk queen is shred with in 2-3 seconds
What is the background song that starts at 3:50?
Hey, TwoDynamic, how were you basically sniping with an explosive shotgun? Does the explosive legendary effect just disregard range or do you have a special mod setup on the gun itself? I'd like to know because I rip my problems with a bleed-damage shotgun, but I got an explosive shotty a couple days ago and am seriously reconsidering which one to keep handy at all times...
+Blindluck92 last barral on combat shotties reduces spread
The deviant legendary effect is amazing for stealth sniper builds. The last shot in the mag deals double damage.
Better than Instigating for a Harpoon gun. The damage is the same, but it works on every shot, not just the first hit ;-)
Finally someone gets it. Dont forget other 1 shot clip size weapons
get the explosive trait on a laser rife...upgrade the muzzle to a scatterbeam and hey presto, you have a lightweight, accurate, very long ranged explosive laser shotgun which decimates cover :) you're welcome!
As mentioned several times here. This isn't possible without mods or console commands since energy weapons cannot normally have the explosive prefix. IE-outright cheating. Laser rifles tend to have horribbad recoil with the scatterbeam attached. So its neither accurate nor long ranged outside of VATS.
woah....shit, someone called the fun police, get your head out of your ass...and it is accurate,it is long ranged and it is fun to use :)
These videos are like my hero, I now have most of the legendary weapons, thanks TwoDynamic
I found a two shot guard rifle during airship down I was so hyped when I found it
I got the explosive shotgun thanks to your farming guide and with my explosion perk fully unlocked now too, its AMAZING! So thank u sooo much for both these vids!! Its the only gun i use basically xD
Is the song the piano version of "young wild and free"?
I came across the explosive mini gun today doing one of those rogue robot missions, and it was dropped by a legendary tankbot. I'm going to give it to one of the Minute men at the Castle because I'm happy with my Kiloton Radium Rifle.
The explosive minigun is what I use in the glowing sea. The rest of the time I use a mighty gauss rifle (lost my last minute gauss somewhere!), neverending assault rifle, overseers guardian and plasma infused combat rifle. Sadly the only two shot guns I have are the 10mm pistol and .44 pistol.
What armor are you wearing? Looks badass. Around 1:00 or so the rest is Maxson's battle coat.
What about a wounding automatic laser shotgun?
Fire Rate of 104
Splits into 5 lasers per shot
Each laser does 10 base damage + 25 wounding damage
Wounding effect stacks
That's 175 per shot and it's rapid fire
And 5,250 damage per 30 round clip (assuming you landed all your shots)
You mean a wounding automatic laser with the split laser modification?
I LOVE the explosive mini-gun. I never used big guns in 3 or NV....never had a desire to use them. But the explosive mini-gun is insane. On hard difficulty I can kill a Behemoth in less than a second. But my favorite part is watching Mirelurks explode and Yao Guis go flying off in the distance. Sure, the physics are unrealistic, but that just makes it even better in my opinion. I think I have over 20K rounds for the damn thing......."Here human, human, human......" "Here mutant, mutant, mutant......"
+Scott Norris They don't let you reload the mini. If you get staggered you have to spin again. Laser gatling has much less spin time.
Im not a fan of the G Laser. Im not a big fan of the regular G Gun either.....but the explosive mini-gun is amazing!
I've been looking for a video like this :)
Wounding Advanced Combat Shotgun is a DOT high DPS CQC shotgun. I use this on damn near everyone and i love it!
Damn never thought watching a deathclaw crawl to his death actually be kinda fucked up!
Love the "25mm Minigun"
on my last playthrough I managed to get the explosive shotgun and the explosive radium rifle. They were awesome.
My double shot laser musket with the six-crank upgrade is my all time favorite. Got it off a Radroach. I named it "Cranky."
love using the explosive shotgun. was my first legendary to pick up on my second play through
My favorite generic legendaries are the ones that do 25% more damage, & the explosive/freezing/incendiary ones bc they add 15 points of damage to any guns. The ones that do 50% more damage against certain enemies are always good too - especially ones for super mutants, but also for bugs & mirelurks. As for apparel, the best generic legendaries are the ones that slow time, reduce damage against certain enemies (especially humans & mutants), & the ones that add strength for extra carry weight.
kneecappers are awesome. I got a flamer with one.
Explosive Mini for Power Armor, Explosive SMG and Instigating Gauss outside it. Practical and very cool.
I used a Kneecapper radium rifle as my main weapon. Ballistic plus rad damage. Advanced receiver. Kills and cripples. I've yet to name it
Just 5 minutes after I watched this video, I got the Violent Gauss Rifle!!!
What about the smg "spray n pray" you can buy it from the trader that walks between the road to hangmans alley and diamon city
Kinda off track but if you equip a jetpack on your power armor, travel to the place where you find Billy and then jetpack up onto the nearest overpass and go to Quincy , kill Clint and then snipe the rest
Sorry for making this long comment
I use the same plasma setup, I think its the most fun semi-auto option
