I love watching album reactions here cause as a musician yourself you are pointing out details a non musician like me won't pick up on but exolains why certain parts catch my ear or stick in my mind whereas a lot of other metal reactors just listen and basically say "yup, good song" or point out that the chorus is catchy ect ect which anyone can gather, so i appreciate your insight into the musical elements that make the music so enjoyable. So thanks for putting these album reactions on youtube instead of patreon cause i simply cannot afford to pay to subscribe right now, so deep appreciation for putting them up for free man. And i concur, my mother would hate this music too lol.
Agreed, this is why he’s my favourite reactor. Also no pausing in the songs. The audio level when he talks during song isn’t too quiet or too loud. Cheers Steve

@ the song avacadavra came to my head when i heard those soft falsettos from Alex with that skipping melody in the background, and ya the piano does a big number on that as well
solid album lots of tasty parts, personally i like vunusian blues alot the singing and pace seems very ocean grove influenced with an mts twist and also the backround piano seems very reminiscent of the worlds apart album which had a very ethereal outer planet kinda vibe at parts makes sense with the name but maybe thats just me.
Doomswitch was my intro to MTS and I've been impatiently waiting for this album ever since. I am not disappointed. It's definitely going to take more listens of the new tracks but this album is a banger. My only possible ick might be the consistent calling out of the name of the song.
Sean is definitely imo the best screamer in all genres his lows and highs both can but put in the mass majority of other genres and it’s fits perfectly, especially deathcore. AND!!! He can go lower than this album, their song drown with me shows that at the end of it

But when i saw make them sufferz sean was flawless. Invent animate has the best vocalist in all of metal in my opinion but he doesnt always perform live the best.
The chorus on Venusian Blues is straight out of Onslow (Sean’s amazing emo(ish) side project). I really wish Sean sang more on the record, but hopefully they’ll add more as release more. Overall, this is a certified slapperoni
The self-titled is my own introduction to the band. First song I ever heard of them was Ghost of Me. I just finished listening to the album for the first time & I loved, but absolutely, LOVED it. So am I in for an enjoying ride?

Just sucks how all their good songs came out before the album release. I have been following them since Lord Of Woe EP and seeing them at HQ in Leederville as well as Amps/Capitol, metros etc so a lot has changed in the past 12-14 years lol
Listened this morning on my way to work. As a big fan from the Old Souls days, I’m mixed. There are some really good songs on here, but there are some absolute duds as well. I’m not sure if this is simply because the singles have been out for so long, or just that the lyrics are generic and don’t mean anything. Riffs are still there, energy is definitely there. Just feels very distilled.

As a recording artist myself I have learned to step back more and try and put myself in their shoes. They have alot to try and live up to while trying to remain relevant and have fun. Sean said in an interview that love it or hate it, he also wants to keep going with MTS if he(and the rest of the band) is having fun. The minute it stops being fun, he said he's done. I think we need to cut them some slack. We've been so blessed to get some seriously incredible music from these guys the last 15 years.

You dont have to like it as much as the older albums, or even at all for that matter, but youre not doing yourself any favors thinking about the good old days of a band thats always been evolving over time
I really wish they had gone harder into the indi rock/90s grunge vibe for the entirety of the album. While the singles are overall great, I would have liked to see a unique identity come out in them, instead of just more early 2020s metalcore.
Un fucking believable album so far it’s album of the year, I’m thoroughly impressed by their range and will be banging this all the way into next year and even after that this is on par with sleep token quality. Btw still suggest you listen to despair by secrets cheers mate

Idk but I found this album kinda underwhelming, might have been bc I listened to it at 4 am but still, didn’t click with any songs apart from the singles. I found almost every Chrous with Alex to be emotionless
Define emotionless? This album was absolutely incredible. She was a huge part in what made this album great. Her keyboard parts srent overbearing at all and are well thought out. Her vocals in the choruses were great however she didnt write them. I dont see how anybody could not dig this album.

I have to say as a massive MTS fan, unfortunately I’m a little disappointed by this album, don’t get me wrong it’s a good album, not a bad song on it However it just felt like I was listening to the same song with slightly differnt verses each time Exceptions to Managod and no hard feelings which is an incredible track Doomswitch is still the highlight for me but besides that I don’t feel there nearly enough interesting riffage and drum patterns like in the last album But that’s just me, Alex and Sean were incredible
@@StoneColdd316this is my first listening of it and I’m right there with you in your initial statement. I know sometimes albums have like a theme throughout, but can for sure see that some of these songs are too similar across it. Still hyped they made new music though.
I think the song arrangement could've been better, they have varied songs but they're mostly near the end. If No Hard Feeling was like the third song, Venusian the sixth, it could've felt a little more fluid!

First time i have properly paid attention to this band. Really enjoying the album.
Their entire catalog is amazing. Neverbloom and Old Souls are amazing, but more deathcore than Metalcore
