Back in the 90s Ted was doing artist relations for St Louis Music, he hooked me up with a Super Jet when my band (Alien Fashion Show) was touring with the Brian Setzer Orchestra. That was a great amp, but it sounded amazing when I paired it with a solid state Maggie from the 70s (can't remember the model). So glad to see the depth of knowledge and attention he's bringing to the new Magnatone!
These are very cool and original designs. If this had a gain channel this would easily replace my current amp, even with their mind boggling price. I kind of wish they made something similar to the Milkman Sound Reverb Unit with Harmonic Tremolo yet modified (so it has tube reverb, tube harmonic tremolo, and standard tube tremolo). Then I could pair it with the amps I already have.
My Magnatone 260A was made in the 26th week of 1960, I am a Metal guitarist and discovered that the most hated Distortion pedal the Metal pedal came to life with this amp, cleaned up the tone and I believe it is the tubes and the tube rectifier that made it happen!!
Arguably, the Magnatone vibrato is the first true guitar effect (unless you count volume pedals, reverb tanks and oil cans which are mostly mechanical and don't really alter a guitar's sound)
I bought a Super 15 about three months ago. Absolutely amazing amp. I was so impressed with sound that I just ordered a Super 59 M80 so I can run stereo. The black series is more my style so that why I went in this direction as opposed to the brown series. Great amps!
I LOVE the Magnatones and would do just about anything to get one. But they are so freaking expensive. I guess its good to have something that you always dream about but cant have. At least thats what i tell myself when im wiping the tears away with my pillow.
It’s up there within the boutique brands such as tone king, Carr, benson, two rock etc. all the fender/vox handwired stuff is good but there’s something special about these amps in terms of precise quality and care. Many of the them are a hybrid handwired/PCB but sound and play better than the true hand wired PTP vox and fender stuff. Just to show where that boutique quality outshines the mass production models even though fender/vox put out amazing amps.
“ Vibrato is something that you use for part of a song but not meant to be left on for the whole song.” Should I be turning the vibrato off sometimes then on my 1958 or 9 Magnatone Troubador?, because I’m not, and I don’t want to!
Magnatone makes the best 5 watt amp, IMHO. I love the small amps, and my favorite is my Starlite. A close second is my 1959 Magnatone model 111. Keep it up Magnatone! You guys are killing it!
These seem incredible. I do beg to differ that the originals don't sound good without the vibrato working. I have a few classic Maggies (108, 115, Americana 213, Panaramic 1210, 430, 480, M8 ) that sound pretty good if you keep up on the electronics. Admittedly not as smooth as a black face Deluxe Reverb. But not bad either. And I don't know how I have so many. I guess I went through a phase as a younger man .
This is the only reason I don't own one. Also would like the Twighlighter and Panorama stereo amps in the 59 white and black style. Don't care for the old brown myself.
I think they are great, I like the few modern things like fx loop, reactive load and speaker sim for silent recording. The Super Fifteen has all of that. I may just go for that amp.
The “authentic” comment is especially funny cuz it seems they’ve pulled the original video of him explaining the story of Magnatone by himself for this one with the new affiliations to stroke some authentic ego or something 😂
AGNESI, MARK: The empty suit who continues being the frontman for the greedy guitar mob known for their absolutely despicable tactics trying to bring down all other smaller guitar companies. They've been losing big in court, case after case. Mark loves money and hates you.
Shoddy PCB amp? Wiring looks immaculate to me, and nothing wrong with PCB as long as thoughts put into it. Tone King, Suhr, Bogner, THD, Boogie, etc. all use PCB extensively.

Just picked up a Varsity Reverb; this thing is a work of art. Phenomenal sounding amp.

I am thinking of adding the Super Fifteen as a slave amp to my setup. Of course it will sound great plugged straight in as well.
I can't wait to purchase the Panoramic...! Great company, one of a kind amplifiers and sound! Great interview and review.
I was glad, I got to try the Magnatone Super Fifteen and Stereo Twighlighter amps at Sweetwater Gear Fest 2019 at Ft. Wayne, Indiana!

Or slicing your speaker cone and cranking your amp.

Mark is super intense these days

No way, I always had my vibrato on, and the trem on my other amp was always on as well
they have the sound and a really cool look
is the Evil Robot good?
just bought a baby M80 for 1699 (new) from a shop on Reverb. 300.00 less than new prices and less than most used ones :)

Man times have changed I bought that same amp for over 2 grand just a month ago. 😑 oh well I'm very happy with mine😁😍

Did he call Mark TED?
Magnatone amps sounds flawless but please tune that guitar!
Mister magnatone could you make a super 5
Interesting because my old ass one is also very quiet. Unless of course you’re playing it, cause then it’s super loud.
I'm truly in love with these amps. But that Ignisi dude wouldn't come within two miles of my product if that brand was mine....
I would love to see a stereo fx loop for that amp.

Using both amps would work really well.
I have a Jazz Chorus 40 watt that sounds every bit as good as this thing and didn't cost me $10,000. That being said, I still want one. LOL
Yeah no
@@pookachu64 I got rid of the Jazz Chorus and got a Vox AC 30!

Quiero uno !
Damn Skippy!
Another new job for Agnesi?
Bro... tune that guitare... best guy to present gear : Doug Rappoport 😊
Thanks me later Magnatone 😘
Reactive load box built in.
No there aren’t
we recreated expensive amp
Imre Orro it’s properly priced within the boutique level of amps such as Carr, tone king, two rock, etc.
First!
Really bad demo, takes half the video before any actual sounds from the amp, wich is supposed to be the main character here... ?
Can't watch this ...it's not authentic

Nothing like spending $3k+ on a shoddy PCB amp. Magnatone is the triumph of marketing and hype in the guitar world.

the 15 sounds meh..
