    Hi Andrew,
nice footage and good quality of colors. Which red fiter do you use for your reef shots with the ambient light at the beginning?
    Thanks

      Hi, Sascha, Thank you.
I used thin film light orange filter, similar by tone to MagicFilter for blur water and manual white balance (in "A" mode).
With the latest firmware version it is also possible to use underwater auto white balance ("fish" icon). It works well with and without physical red (orange) filter and automatically adjusts settings when the lights are swithched on

Hey Andrew :) You have so many different cameras used in your videos. Here u used the Rx-100 iv, right with CMC-1. How happy are you with that constallation. I mean the video is absolutely fantastic, but how hard was it to get these shots? You have to get 6cm close, right
Are you missing the macro mode of canon? I can't decide between Canon G7xII and Sony Rx-100 V..
Your help would be greatly appreciated!

Andrew, beautiful video. Congratulations!! I bought a Sony Rx 100 V and I will start making some videos, I wonder if you can tell me what configuration you used: Focus, you left in infinity? White balance, what option should I leave? Is the selector in the Manual or in some priority? I imagine that the shutter speed should leave the highest. Excuse for so many questions is that your videos are magnificent and to this day I have not seen videos like yours. Thanks in advance! ,

      Hi, Andrew,
Sorry for the late reply.Thank you for your feedback!
I usually use A (aperture priority) mode for shooting video. It allows manual white balance setting and you can quickly adjust aperture depending on the scene (for macro with the attached wet lens you may need to set aperture to 5,6 - 8 or even higher, however in wide angle shooting aperture can be opened to 1,8. With the latest firmware you can use auto underwater white balance (fish icon), it works quite well.
As for the focus mode, I recommend to use auto focus with center focus area. It is especially important when you shoot macro objects and depth of field is very shallow. Focusing speed of RX100 V is extremally high, so you may need to adjust reaction speed in video mode in the menu. Too fast focus point changes don't look cinematic:)

    Really nice footage & Video
Can you please tell me about overheating issues? What was the water temperature? What's the maximum footage time you were able to record?

      Thank you.
You are right, unfortunately ovetheating is really an issue when you shoot in 4K by RX100M4 and RX100M5.
I used both cameras underwater and average continious recording time in 4K was about 3 munutes (first episode could be up to 5 minutes, next ones - less).
Good thing is that usually you don't need such a long continious scene when you film marine life.
RX100M5 informes you about remaining shooting time in seconds before shut-off, which is more convenient compared to M4, however backlight of the screen in M5 is dimmed after short time to save energy and decrease the internal temperature, so the screen is less visible underwater compared to M4. And, of course, M5 has big advantage in focusing speed and accuracy.
As for the battery life, it is sufficient for one dive, however to have more flexibilty I use additional power bank installed inside Sony MPK-URX100A housing (there is a lot of space above the camera for the pop-up flash which I don't need for video).
