Nice radio. Not much average swing on high power. Maybe show what it swings for average power when it is on 1 watt. Other than that I think it's gonna be a hot seller. Have a great week Matt ✌🏼
@rodlink6258 If you put it in as a base radio on a bench and are not long-winded talking on them, you can go without a fan. But if you are doing a lot of sideband talking or mounting it in a vehicle, I would go with dual fans. They come set up to run dual fans. If you want a long life from the radio, I would spend the money for the fans instead of the repairs that will come later. 73s.
Ok I'm interested but I need some specific information. How does the receive audio compare to President Lincoln 2+ ? Better? Worse? Or about the same? Thanks for the video
I find the rf-gain meter a poor choice from President. They should have made it a modulation-meter or swr so you dont have to look at a full meter the whole time Other than that, ofcuz it should have been a base radio, like the first Washington, but thats also my opinion. Tnx for the test.
I actually picked up a new old stock Sweet 16 with Toshibas. 5 watts carrier out of the radio puts the sweet 16 at 300 watt carrier . I’m only driving 45 watts pep into it and getting 1000 out of
It amazes me the number of people that buy the radio from somewhere else that come running expecting to get answers to problems. Buy the radio from a good source you’ll get all the answers you need.
Right on Matt.... great radio for sure... without me looking it up, do you know if the dimensions of the radio are similar to the Anytone 6666? I have a custom cubby in my truck where the quad 6 is now and was thinking of a replacement down the road 🤔
@TheRadioGarage that's a bummer. Is it all smd stuff inside? I assume so, if it's like the rest of what's coming out. I did some trials of both the components and had ok luck on the quad 6 and 955. I am seriously considering one of these though. Be a good radio for the truck.
Single side band I believe. New to CB radios myself & trying to learn but not surprised you got no reply. For some reason there's not much beginner videos that explain things to complete noobs. Also it seems most "experts" or veterans can't be bothered to try & explain this stuff. Good luck finding info, it's frustrating.
I should have added that the Daiwa CN-501H works perfectly well with the FT-891 so I know it's not the meter telling porkies, I'm just disappointed with the Washington not giving out anywhere near the advertised power out of the box. I bought mine from K-PO in the Netherlands so whether the European radios are low on power or not I do not know but hardly when the same power was being advertised.
@@TheRadioGarageNPC mod will allow full output from any deadkey. Won't be clean, but it will fix the linearity of RF power if you want full output from the lowest dk
Excellent video on this radio! Looks like you know what you're doing. That's why I ordered mine from you! 👍
I received my washington this passed Saturday, thx for the fast shipping.
It's working awesome, crystal clear audio over the air.
Thx again!!!!
Good looking radio
That’s awesome Matt thanks for the great video 73
Looks great, thanks for the run through.
Can the president Washington be used in à vehicles like a cb
Sounds like a nice clean radio. Thanks
as always great video good info 👍
Thanks 👍
Nice radio and demo👍⚡️
Looking good! Loads of features!
I’m not a big sideband guy but this thing may have me on there more lol
Yea definitely give SSB a try!
Check your email when you get a chance
Nice brother. 73
Thanks for a good overview !
Glad it was helpful!
cant wait for mine to come
Will ship out tomorrow
I'm looking to buy one from you with the fans. Looks like a nice radio.
Hey what about a video showing what the radio could do after the service menu options
Yeah they nice little rigs right there it's got a nice punch

It's only going to swing about 1 or 2 watts forward on avg from any rf power setting 👋👍👍
@@TheRadioGarage There's a mod to fix that problem
My shop said it only turn down to 10 watts dk does this show the change @TheRadioGarage
A very interesting video, I've been running my Washington for 5 weeks now, with no issues🙂
Are you running it as a base or in a truck?
Nice advertising sign there 👍
Would recommend a heavy duty 12 gauge power cord with this radio. It is pulling some amps. Looks like a sub par power cord in the box.
That's the rumor but the stock wires have been fine and don't heat up.
Can they be ok with just 1 fan?

How is this compared to Anytone 5555/(Radioddity QT60)? Which would you recommend? Thanks
God I want one
Looks pretty good
Looks like the Same as the President George II EU version. What is the frequency range on that radio expanded?
Please show how to access the service menu. That secret menu for techs so we can adjust modulation and RF power. Things like that.
I.
Did the conversion with the jumper? Is there a technique on holding certain buttons to get it to switch to CB
Contact the dealer that you bought it from.
@@TheRadioGarage thanks
Press and hold menu, scroll to where it says "Password," enter 12345 and the radio will automatically reset to have the CB channels.

Not to be confused with the original President Washington 40 channel AM/SSB base station CB or the later base station branded as Uniden Washington.
Thank goodness I found your comment.

How to turn Eco on? I see it is set for Eco Level 25, and Delay 30, but I don’t hear the effect. I’m not sure is Eco turned on or not ?
Would this be a good unit for mobile use ? Aka semi truck use . Or better for base ?
I have a richard for semi and it's insane!!!! This is too complex for a big rig. IMHO...I have A washington mounted in my Pickup.
i started min yesterday but it on 28 mhz not 27 mhz where do i change that

How does this compar to the Lincoln ll+ ?
Is this one sny better?
Yes. It is easier to use as a cb. Bigger display and knobs. Better layout.
Matt what does the radio swing from 2 or 3 watts? Do you think it’s enough to drive a Texas Star 500
No not even close. Only swings like 15 watts from 2 watts and about 20-25 watts from 3 watt deadkey

Fans are still 3-4 weeks out, thanks
Hi Matt! Thanks for the video. Can we hear it on-air when you're done with it?
Will do that now. 👍
@@TheRadioGarage - Thank you sir!
Ok got the over the air audio posted. It's a short, ruclips.net/user/shortsGy8KzkV3PhY?feature=share
How do we get into the service menu please?
Why can't we get some new base stations from these brands now. This would have made a good one with the Washington name. 😖

What is the minimal power on FM you can adjust to ? Can it go down to 4 Watts ?
yes. All the way to 1

Can you share the 3D file for that radio stand?
It's not my file
How easy is it to do the modification?
Hopefully you do a little bit of tuning on these, even though they're close from the factory, there's always room for improvement.
Hello, I bought a GEORGE 2 (export France) with 540 channels.

Capable up to 120 pep at 15v. Requires mods to get it there. Otherwise, 75-80 pep
