Watch the video if you want it all: Essentially, OPs daughter is from a woman he had a one night stand with but they co-parent and get along. The mom and her husband moved with the daughter of the country but due to the language barrier, OPs daughter finds it difficult and so the topic of her moving back with OP came up. Yes, it was stated that his relationship was good as he called his daughter almost daily and sent her various gifts over the years, just couldn’t afford traveling due to living in a third world country. OP was arguing with his wife who was making excuses that she doesn’t really know his daughter and that he would have to give up time to spend time with her, which took away the time he would spend with their toddler (m). More was said but she assumed that because OPs daughter left the country and the mom’s family was doing well financially, she wouldn’t be coming back. He eventually made the comment that if she can’t handle him wanting to take care of his daughter then she should get out. Update 1 basically was him addressing that he shouldn’t have made such a mean comment but was upset about the way she talked about his daughter. He apologized and they had a conversation together to really figure out the root of the problem. It came down to the fact that she was jealous of OPs daughter (wasn’t explained why). OP explained that it wasn’t right because if the roles were reversed, she would be just as mad that some other woman wouldn’t allow her son to stay with OP. They agreed she would see a physiatrist and figure it out. Update 2 was along the lines of how well the relationship is after a few months of OPs daughter living with them. The wife has heavily taken to her and they spend a lot of time together and bonding. Imo, I guess she finally enjoyed being able to have girl time.
