Amazing guide, thanks Renic. This shit has everything I need to get started learning a character. It's great that you spent enough time focusing on her general gameplan, rather than just good moves and combos. That's the kinda stuff that's usually missing in a lot of tutorials.
At 10:35 he says the RH cmd grab has shortest distance but it actually has longest distance, just longest startup. It's all in the frame data look it up. I assume he meant startup not range
when you do -> + mk you can chain it to round house. At either end on the screen when you dash forward and do -> + mk you can clear the whole screen and if done right there is barely a pause. Sometimes you can chain her mp with her LK MK and it counts as a 3 hit combo (I find it difficult but hey I'm just a noob)
I was just watching this again while practicing along side, that helps a lot. I still need a lot of practice, especially when I'm not proficient at dashing. Atleast I have an idea on how to use her now, whereas I was pretty much clueless before lol,
I’ve been trying to get better at this game recently as now my cousin wants to play 3rd strike with me. I love Makoto and I always wanted to get better at playing her, so I wanna improve my neutral game and oppression I can do with her to fight his Yun and Yang. This was helpful even 10 years later! Thanks a ton!
still my favorite character from 3S design wise she is so unique while still feeling like a classic SF character unlike some of the other cool but weird characters from SF3 (Sorry Urien/12/Necro/Oro you are cool but feel more like Darkstalkers characters artistically lol)

Good series to help the new players along, my only suggestion would be to talk about the other supers as well, even if just for a little bit.

I'm assuming that her super 1 is the most advantageous choice but what about her other supers? Super 3 seems like it could have its advantages.
GodOfFunk25 super 2 is her best super, it has insane combo potential. also twice as much meter. Harder to use than super 1 though
