Metal slug 1-5 are my favorite and the rest just suck. Expect advance it wasn’t bad. The thing that ruined it for 6 and 7 was the backgrounds weren’t pixel art they were a mixture of realistic and 2D and the sounds were altered which was why the originals sounds were fine already. And then the mobile games are just sad.

What is so cringeworthy about Cuphead, aside from the fandom? Cuphead is an amazing game, I can see the effort and passion they put into it. Not that I’m saying it’s better than MS. MS is a. Timeless classic that even Cuphead couldn’t beat.

I sank so many quarters into MS1 at the arcade, it was worth every one! When the sequel came out, as soon as I saw that mini-gun equipped camel, "This is going to be good!". Though the ending was a shameless plug of Independence Day. But hey, Starfox 64 did the same thing.

I don't know why everybody hates Metal Slug 4. True it doesn't add anything too the formula of tge previous games and it doesn't have Terma as a playable character but that doesn't mean that it's a bad game. Every arcade game is fun with MS3 being the best as it's the longest, the hardest and even some levels have alternate paths.

Metal slug 1 to 4 is awesome but when it got to 5 and afterwards it got crappy. Even with the characters. Marco,Eri,Tarma,fio,Nadia and trevor are great but then the others that came after just sucked.
6 was pretty good, it had the new weapon and points system, more fitting voices (imo, dunno why most diss them) character differences, a bombastic soundtrack (even if nothing tops 5's) and they did a bit more with the landscapes due to better hardware

I really really want to go back to those times!
I was so depressed after completing MS1 watching the little paper plane flies across the battlefield that I try to do a non-lethal play-through immediately afterward, or just to make amend. 13 or 14, indulging in the excitement to defeat the undefeatable and the anxiety of remaining lives, young teenager as I was was rewarded with such emptiness and the sum of destruction I take part in. Looking back, this might explains my preference for action games that allows ridiculous non-lethal method.

Has a lot more content. 2017 - Today Literally the game from 2016. Some otaku pay to win bullshit. If you don't pay money, then you're probably a noob that loses in all battles. And don't make a deck with a single male characters. They're useless garbage. Also, if you see a recolor, it means that it's something very good. Seriously SNK, I used to love you, but now you disgust me even more than EA

Metal Slug 3D Is a decent game when taken on it's own, but is vastly inferior to it's 2d counterparts.
The announcer sucks starting on msX, I prefer the metal slug 2 announcer. Sound effects and music quality was bad starting on metal slug 6.
