On 1st July this year I was at a gig where I heard Lovbites play this song at a small venue (capacity 600) in London. However many times you have seen them on RUclips or listened to their CDs, it does not prepare you for the reality of a live Lovebites concert. I have been going to see live music for nearly 60 years, including bands such as Rush and singers such as Ronnie James Dio, and I honestly believe these ladies are up there with the best. Stand out from the concert for me ? Haruna on the drums. Such a tiny petite lady, but the speed and power of her playing filled me with awe. I don't think the full force of it is carried over on recordings. She really does 'Bring The Thunder'. 🐺
Agreed, I saw them in San Francisco. Most of my attention was on Haruna. That double bass was thundering, especially on the last song of the evening "Holy War".
I was there also at the Garage on the 1st July, and I concur, Haruna is unstoppable and as far as I'm concerned, she is the best drummer out there. So fast, and the technical accuracy is inconceivable, and always has a smile when playing, ❤her to bits. Hope to see them again one day. 🤘🎤🎹🥁🎸🐺🇬🇧
I'll second this! I saw them at a venue of about the same size in the US. I was front row (well, second row, right behind someone not too tall, and I could literally touch the stage). Haruna's drum kit was maybe 10 feet away? They came out with The Awakening, and Haruna is sitting right there. There's then that moment she comes in slightly, and it was amazing - but then she comes in full force. Nothing could have prepared me for the wall of sound that came out of that kit and hit me full on. The percussion wave flapped my shirt and pants the entire concert. Watching her was indeed awe inspiring.

I can only imagine that the recordings only scrape the surface of doing her playing justice!
Thanks ERIC! It has to be so difficult to be the vocalist for a band like this. Keeping up with the speed, the intensity, finding a way to be heard over the level of noise that they put out, yet Asami does it perfectly! When people say, "This makes me want to practice my guitar." I almost want to say, "Dude, you can practice the rest of your life and you will never be this good." Not to put them down, it's just that these girls are really at a level that is simply unattainable for 99.5% of all guitarists. Same goes for all the other band members. Googled BPM = 195. Like I probably said before here, Haruna's feet are like the pistons in a Formula 1 engine.
They are truly gifted! I mean, of course they've put in the blood, sweat, and tears to be this good!
@@DrumAttic 😀 Funny comment YOYOKA made on the ELLEN show when Ellen said "You must have practiced a lot to get this good." YOYOKA comes back with "Not really, I'm lazy." ....lol My response to YOYOKA woould be "You think you're lazy, you should see me!." Obviously she practices but not as much as people think. It just comes so natural for her. For her, she just wants to play, and that she does a lot, with LOTS of different musicians.
🤘People who listen to her will think that even this one song is amazing.😵 What's amazing about❤Haruna❤ is that this was the 17th song of the live, and she performed three encore songs after this. 😮She didn't make a single mistake the whole time🥁. She's a 💪monster 💪in a good way.😱

I think it's important, especially as a drummer yourself, to backup & play from just before 4;20 in the original video.
You had just started to 'time' the tempo when Haruna has a short solo 'feature'!
At the premier stream they had chalk boards to comment as we all listened together, them each at home & in different screens. Haruna made it a point to alert us to "Focus On Drums !!"
Earlier in the song Miyako, who wrote the song, says "Asami & Haruna, Sorry" as Haruna had been holding up her board saying "FAST" repeatedly and Asami commenting on how HIGH the vocal part is.

As a drummer (& guitarist) myself, I find Haruna's drumming to be uniquely fascinating & 100% appropriate to every song. Very 'busy' but never a distraction, always an enhancement.

I saw this one performed at their first ever US concert in Atlanta a few weeks ago and they brought the heat just as they do here in this video. Haruna and Asami blew me away with their efforts on this song when I heard it live!
