One of the most impressive things about Lovebites is how effortlessly Midori & Miyako perform the twin guitar harmonies live. According to an interview, it took them lots & lots of practise before they got it right. You would never guessed this, when you see them live, ripping on these twin guitar solos in perfect harmony. They definetely deserve the ''shredding queens'' title and complement each other perfectly.
I met Midori in person at the LOVEBITES concert Meet & Greet on September 1, 2024. In contrast to her powerful demeanor on stage, Midori in person was very petite and gentle. I love her playing style. I would like to see her play the keyboard in the future if I have the chance.
Midori Fantastic and amazing guitatar player She is so skilled, Love so much her stage presence with Lovebites, She and Myako are twins sisters of heavy metal.
Thank-you for covering Midori, without her, M&M wouldn't be, and together they are so synchronised that they could be mistaken as one, until you hear the difference in the tones. They are, in my opinion, the No.1 duo guitarists out there today and possibly the best ever or as good as. So different but yet so perfect together. 🤘🎸🎸🐺🇬🇧
❤Midori is a top guitarist, ❤and LOVEBITES joins forces with another top guitarist on 🎸twin lead-guitars🎸, enhancing each other's 🎶musicality and 💪power by several orders of magnitude, and continuing to captivate the world.🎉
So, ok, I comment on Miyako much more than I do Midori - Miyako was the initial reason I really got into Lovebites - but it was Miyako's piano playing that first kidnapped me, lol😅..but as far as guitar playing goes, I consider Miyako and Midori perfect equals though complimentary equals! ❤❤...Midori also has infectious stage presence whereas Miyako is more reserved, which again, compliments each other!😊❤❤.. soo glad u did this vid on Midori!! 🎸 🔥 great job 💯!!!
"The Crazy Shredder" ! As her nickname implies, Midori was generally faster when it came to M&M's solos, and that's how they traditionally arranged their solos - Midori was very fast-paced, and Miyako more melodic. But in a recent interview, Midori mentioned that they no longer arrange their solos/licks in this traditional mode because Miyako is just as fast nowadays, so they'll both play very fast/technical as well as melodic solos in their newer songs.
I first met her and Miyako when their then-bands shared the bill at a club gig in Osaka in 2014. Also in 2015. Who knew then that they'd be sharing the stage in the same band? Midori learned to play at Musicians Institute partly under the direction of guitarists who later became well known as Babymetal Kami Band members: Mikio Fujioka, Takayoshi Ohmura, and Leda. Midori was part of the tech staff (though she didn't play) at a Fujioka tribute concert held by members of MI's faculty not long after his death, and for that matter she's a very good friend of Fujioka's widow. Actually her first professional gigs were not with Gekijo Metalicche but as support for various bands/musicians at clubs in the Osaka area in her MI days.
Midori also knows SYU-san from Galneryus. I wonder if she ever took lessons from him? It was so cool to see M&M on the Rock Fujiyama show with Marty Friedman.
Please do one about Miki Igarashi the guitarist of Show-Ya. In fact, do a Video about the band Show-Ya. They have been a band since 1981, and have 13 Albums from 1985 to present. They also sponsor/produce the Naon no Yaon festival, which they founded back in 1987. The grandmothers/godmothers of Japanese all female metal bands. I am 60ish and have known about Show-ya and Loudness since the later 80's.
