Its true. Figuring out how to connect the strap was the hardest part. Once figured out, it is literally 30 seconds per wheel, on or off. I see guys everyday driving down the road with the equipment not strapped down. I don't get it. They drive down the road with $18,000 worth of equipment on the trailer, and just one jackass cut them off and their equipment could be on the road. Be safe my friends.
Hey Ben wondering if there was an update on these? They are literally three times the price of other tie down kits like Erickson and wondering if they are worth it? Something I noticed right away is that you do not have to ratchet them like other competitors. That may give these a big time advantage over other similar systems.
We used them for about a year and a half before we needed to replace. About the same as the tiedowns we buy at Tractor Supply....only 3 times the price. We did not reorder. They're ok....but the price. We can get the same use out of the cheaper ones.
@@ACMEMowing Thanks for responding Ben. Can you tell me why you needed to replace? I noticed one of the advantages to this system is you can purchase the straps separate from the chocks. They are just under $30 so still not cheap but not a huge deal.
Ben, Have used them for 5 years now. We dont pull out of e trac, we loosen up and just pull off, drive over them. No damage and yes they hoold our z sprayer andnnew steel green sprayer. Now got new ones for box truck.
I drove over the buckle with the handle and ended up bending it. Had to hammer it back so it worked properly. I'll be order 2 more for the front of the trailer.
@@ACMEMowing Our pleasure, Ben! We are very ready. Sad to hear we won't see you this year but we know you will have a great time on the cruise! Enjoy it :)
Glad you made this video. I am in the market for some of these, and hadn't seen this particular brand yet. These look nice, because the chalks aren't overly tall, and driving over them looks relatively smooth. Great job!
Awesome Exmark sign!!!!!!! I'm too lazy to use the fast straps I'm just going to be honest lol, but I'm glad they work for you Ben. Awesome honest review Acme Mowing 👍👍👍
@@ACMEMowing I mean I would probably love the straps but I would spend that money on something like more weedeater spring or oil knowing me. I'm a cheapskate lol
I always used cheap hair spray for bicycle grips and found that it works well when attaching rubber coverings to steel. Spray, then slide over, allow n hour to dry. Its dries tacky but still removeable. I also have used masking tape and rubber cement for a stronger bond, but harder to remove the rubber covering.
Thats essencially an E-Track clip at the ends of the straps. For guys that need psrt of their trailer deck tobe multi purpose a couple sets of e-tracks and straps would be fine for smaller equipment like 21 inche mowers, airators, seed/granular spreaders, compact tractors and so on.
Correct. I like these more than the e-track. These are easy to clean out debris with a blower. That never worked well when I had the e-track system. They seem to clog faster as well.
What about mowers with a parking brake on both rear tires? My scag vride 2 parking brake would be in the middle of the strap. Does it crush the parking brake?
i bought the yellow chocks with blue straps on amazon, but same deal. love wheel tiedowns. sheesh, i recently saw some old phone pics of the days ( 3 years ago ) when i still used regular ratchet straps on my rider 😂 not only do i think it bent the angle iron rails on my trailer, but it took _forever_ to strap and unstrap ( i used 4 straps on that machine ). did i say how much *i love wheel tiedowns* ? 🤣
Due to 2020 being a global dumpster fire im going to use some scrap PT 4x4s to make the tire blocks and attach standard strap to my Grasshopper front mount (diesel mower 1,400 lbs)
personally I use Erickson tie downs. $37.50 for one axel. two straps and four brackets. whenever you look to purchase remember the 4x rule. the tie down should be rated AT LEAST 4x the weight of what you are tying down. large lawn mowers are approaching 1500 lbs, do the math.
I have been trying to think is there any strap the will hold a mower on 1200-1500 pounds back from the force of momentum from a huge wreck idk what momentum does to the pounds if you know what I mean. I will be at a wedding but I will try to sneak away to watch the premiere
are u fcking high its the law and when slam on the brakes because on some person in front you that cant drive it can go right over the trailer and right into the truck
It's a safety thing....and it's the law to tie-down equipment on a trailer here. Also...the brakes aren't designed to hold the mower going at the momentum these things get to going down the road. The mowers end up moving all over the trailer if not tied down. Of course it's Oklahoma....and our roads suuuuuuuck!
@@familyownedlawncareservices first off not high my trailer is around 2ft sides in closed and I don't lock it down. I may need to start in case I do have a wreck. Here in TN they are some nutty drivers lol

I agree. They are fast once you've done it a time or two. I think they are worth the price! Thanks for the comment!

I was worried about driving over them....but it's no big deal at all. I drive over larger things in people's yards! LOL! Thanks for watching.
I’m going to order a set tonight. Thank ye for the video, have a profitable week :)
You too! Stay cool. This should be our last week in the 90s I hope!
Good Review, very helpful. Thank you for sharing.
Hope it helped. I like this system. Fast and easy!
Just love that shop add on..maybe after you get the wall painted you could put some of the shirts on it
I thinks that is the plan! The paint will have to wait for the winter. I need projects to fill my down time...and this will be the first one!
Thanks for a very informative review Ben.

Great video, Those straps look pretty cool
Straps worked great! Thanks for watching! We still have your hat on top of the Fridge of Fame!
Good review, I've been thinking about getting some of these.
We like these. I'm buying two more for our other Zero turn that we put at the front of the trailer. Thanks for watching!

These beat the heck out of ratchet straps for sure!

It's all good! We won't be at GIE this year. We'll be there in 2020....this year KH has got me on a boat.
What about mowers with a parking brake on both rear tires? My scag vride 2 parking brake would be in the middle of the strap. Does it crush the parking brake?
It would apply pressure on the tire brake. Not enough to damage it though I wouldn't think.

Kool straps. I’m sure you already know that the park brake on the Exmark is adjustable
Yes. We've adjusted it many times.....it never stays tight though. I don't know what's up.
The park brake on my vantage never stays tight
I'm so cheap. I keep looking at them and then finding excuses not to buy. #lowballerlife 😂

I've talked about the Barracuda in a few vids....but I'll be happy to talk about it again soon!
Ben yes would you please show it off in a video and talk about it and do you like that exmark
I love our Exmark Lazer Z and Vantage. Both have been great mowers for us! We will get the car in this fall. I promise.

i want to buy them i have been watching reviews on them iam ready to buy some i think

One 3500 pound rachet strap in the front of the mower or a smaller 750 pound rachet strap in front but I feel it's to lite weight though.

I'm glad your strap-ons are working well for you but, they aren't for me 😉

Solution to your complaint can be fix with plastidip
The solutions seem so simple in retrospect.
i hope they see this we in a acme10 promo code
I wish I had a promo code for these straps! I need to buy two more of these for the the Hustler/Vantage.....and I wouldn't mind saving a few bucks!
Why strap the mower when you have rails on the trailer. Do they not have a park brake. I must be missing the point.
