  • This is the chicken pot pie of your dreams. Creamy, rich and flavorful, it's the homey, comfort food classic that everyone in the family craves. It's also a great way to utilize leftovers-the recipe would be equally delicious with last night's roasted turkey, pork or lamb, alongside whatever veg you have in the fridge that needs to get used up.

Awesome!! Not many people add crust to the bottom. The bottom crust it the best part.

This Alabama girl totally approves! You nailed it! At our house my hubby likes it served over rice. 😊

Andrew I have always heard that if you use black (or others) beans for the weight when blind baking the dough that the beans cannot be used again in cooking. T or F?

It looks wonderful, but I have to say, being a baker of over 16 years and a self-proclaimed pie crust expert, I have never seen anyone make chimneys for a pie crust lol... I always do the old fashion slits in the top with a sharp knife, a pie that size I'd do at least 10, 5 slits per side. not only does it vent the pie, but they make it look pretty too. nice job though!

AZ This is just my opinion, but you are (or were) still breaking eggs on the edge of the measuring cup. Even Gordon Ramsay has stopped doing this recently and Jacques Pépin has been doing it like that (and frequently saying why) since before you and I were born (and I am almost 70!)

When you buy a frozen chicken pot pie at the grocery store, this is what you convince yourself it's going to be like.
