Anyone who thinks there won't continue to be 3-4 elite perennial contenders is kidding themselves. The point of the playoffs is to pick the 12 best teams based of the season. (Record,SOS,Margin of Victory/Defeat) no where does it say merit. It doesn’t matter if Ole Miss, Alabama, or even South Carolina could hypothetically hang with the rest of the teams. Did they win when it counted ?
I think schools need to put in these NIL contracts if you don’t play your bowl games you forfeit the rest of your NIL contract something needs to be done what do you guys think?
I don’t think the playoffs being expanded is important because there are more than 4 teams that can win the natty it’s important because we get more games as a fan that’s a W however you slice it

@ So the almighty Crimson Tide couldn’t beat a Michigan team with their 2nd string defense and 2nd string running backs only playing🤔🤦. I thought they were supposed to be a CFP team???
Before you get to great quarterback play, in college football, job 1 is elite defense, which is why there are 5 teams that could win: Oregon, OSU, UT, PSU, GA. I bleed Blue and White, but while my heart picks Penn State, if I was betting on it, I’d pick the Ducks. I’ve seen college teams that looked like they simply weren’t going to lose, and this Oregon team is what that looks like.
I don't know how good Gunner is but don't forget my lilbro state about 10 years ago won it all with there 3rd string qb. I'm sure Kirby will design an offense to suit him
MattBeSkibidi lets be honest here, Penn State and Notre Dame might not have much of a chance, but they have a good chance of taking down George, making Oregon or Ohio State the Champion. (Realistically speaking.)
My problem with expanding playoffs is that I think we should only let teams into the playoff if, say they won it, they’d be deserving national champions. 3 loss teams should never even have a 0.01% chance at being the national champs. I don’t think 2 loss teams should either. I think 6 teams max should have the opportunity to play for a natty. Because eventually, if we keep letting all these teams in, we’ll have a champion with 3 losses and that’s ridiculous that a 3 loss teams is the “best” and will be remembered as champs forever.
I’m a Horns fan … an my opinion about Quinn is… you can win with Quinn but you won’t win because of Quinn … he is not elite he’s just good, can’t even hit a receiver over 20 yards under that he’s awesome…
My question to you Matt. Do you think OSU or the Ducks have a better D than Ga. The thing with texas is you have to play man and hold them under 30. Every team thats played zone, ewers just picks the a part. And they dare you to move the safeties up, which Ga didnt fall for because the have 6 of the fastest LB's in the game. Michigan and the ducks exposed OSU'lb group.
ND doesn't have an elite coaching staff??? Please explain this as their offensive coordinator produced a Heisman winner last year and is working miracles with a QB who can't pass more than 6 yards downfield!! #mattbeinbred
Also Al golden is one of the best defensive coordinators in college football. MF is the special teams coordinator and they have been doing some wild stuff on special teams this year
If we get the Bama/Michigan version of Quinn, we are unbeatable Matt. Our Defense is elite. Quinn gotta show up and i agree he hasn't since his injury. Hookem
What your forgetting is now that everyone can pay the players, the good players will be going to more than 3 or 4 schools. You can see that already with Alabama not making the playoffs and alot of their team splitting. What most of your great schools had in the past. Is depth like when OSU won with a 4th string qb. Now that everyone can pay the players their 2 and 3 stringers will go to another school to be 1st string for more money.
Hmm, nice theory. And yet, Georgia is still flush with talent up and down their roster. Weird how that works huh? It's funny how you think those 3-4 schools can't pay those same players. It's funny how you think these kids don't care about winning. This is the most woefully misguided take in the current CFB paradigm, and frankly, it's embarrassingly unintelligent.
@Digitalsapien I never said they couldn't pay the players. I said they were the only one paying them when it was illegal. And I did say the change is starting, not here yet. Think michigan has taken one of your great player already. Just telling you if the kids are into playing and winning for more money than they get being back ups and hoping someone gets hurt so they can play. Then they will go to another school that has a chance. And your top 4 schools will have to deal with players getting hurt. And the most important part is when you have 4 or 5 players that can start anywhere else, you can rotate them in and stay stong in the 2nd half. This is how most of your great college teams go in at half tied then run away in the 2nd half.
How did that #11 Alabama team that should always be in the playoffs look against a 6-5 team that doesn't belong in any bowl game. I can see why you guys ran jim out of town. Good coaching can make 3 star players look good. With a walk on qb because we can't get the 5 stars you guy's have. Sorry, the 4 5star qb you guys have.
The problem with college football right now is that players are getting nil deals to perform and are opting out of bowl games and are entering the transfer portal. At some point, fans will opt out of watching the games and buying team merchandise and tickets
Texas has the best odds to win and you call them a “Pretender” 😆 🤦🏻♂️ You do realize that their path has to go through one of the two teams that you say has the best chance of winning it all. Meaning they have to beat the best team before they get to championship. And they still have the best odds…
No one is sleeping on him. He can’t throw the damn ball worth a crap. Any competent defense would shut that one dimension down and ND would get smacked.
@@CharlieHays-ii1gy They might-after all, the last time they played Georgia, they certainly did. But I’m not sure yet. We’ll see how it plays out, though I do believe the championship game will likely feature either Oregon or Ohio State against Georgia. Going into the playoffs, I felt there were only four teams with a realistic shot at winning the national title: Oregon, Ohio State, Georgia, and Notre Dame. That being said, I didn’t mind the top six teams being in contention, which would include Oregon, Georgia, Texas, Penn State, Notre Dame, and Ohio State. Otherwise, Ohio State-one of the top teams-would’ve been left out. That said, I don’t believe either Penn State or Texas can win the national title, even though they’re strong teams. Outside of those top six, there were teams with little chance of winning, but at least they give us more games to enjoy, I guess. As an SEC fan, I’m not being biased in favor of Big Ten teams. It’s just clear to me that outside of the top six, the other teams don’t have a real shot at the title. I’m hoping Georgia can bring the championship home to the SEC this year, but at the same time, I realize that would mean Alabama fans will continue hearing how Georgia is the new dynasty, which can get a bit frustrating.😂 Still, I’ll always root for the SEC no matter what. I will say, this is the first year I’ve genuinely felt Ohio State has a real chance at winning the national title.
Matt do you think that all 7 teams in the nfl playoffs could win it all? Not to compare college to nfl but Matt let’s be real every sport that has the playoffs, there are teams that you can see and tell aren’t going to win a championship
I would like a 6 or 8 team playoff the best and as of right now, I might still like a 4 team playoff better than a 12 team playoff. I'm a FSU fan btw. Plus I don't really like some teams are going to be playing 16 or maybe even 17 games. For example, if Texas and Penn State is the national championship, both those teams would be in their 17th game

This ain’t basketball and certainly not baseball. The differences between 1-6 and 7-12 is considerable. I believe the discussion soon to come will involve the best team vs attrition.
In my opinion, we don't need a twelve team play off. The gap between the top 4 teams and everybody else is massive. This isn't basketball. There will be few, if any, Cinderella stories. They should just go back to the 4 team play off.
Matt I think that you should make Michigan vs Ohio state the “lil bro” bowl whoever loses gets the name and the other get “big bro” as there name( edit ) and if you get the prediction wrong you have to do what the most liked comment is on your reaction video

Damn you must be real confident Georgia is gonna beat ND lol we’ll see Matt 😂 “if you wanna win a national championship you have to have an elite quarterback” *cough cough* gunner Stockton 71 passing yards and 1 int 0touchdowns. A whopping 15 yards more than Carson beck. Also Michigan didn’t have the most elite qb last year
And he said ND doesn’t have a outstanding coaching staff, Marcus Freeman is a elite head coach and Defensive coordinator is arguably the best in the nation
People wanna count Georgia out because we have Gunner Stockton in But you act like we haven’t had an elite QB all season? Carson Beck tried his best but he just wasn’t a leader and his ball security was always up in the air. Plus Gunner can use his legs. So is he better than Beck? Idk but don’t count those dawgs out just yet
If your backup is good enough, it's not always bad to roll into playoffs with your backup. Rare, but ask Cardale Jones about it. It's an NFL reference but Nick Foles pulled it off too.
The committee formulated the rankings to benefit the SEC. Look at how the CFP is templated. Funny how the 2 best Big 10 teams have to play each other in quarterfinals. Texas, Georgia, "but what about Tennessee?" A sacrifice was needed to mask intentions. Prove me wrong.
I agree with other comments. The key point is to give more teams a chance, and it will spread more talent around. Watch carefully the penalties. Referees can help and hurt teams according to directives.
Georgia beat TX one time. The second time TX beat themselves. 5 dropped passes in the redzone, 2 missed FGs, 19 penalties for 96 yards, in a 3 point game. That's beating yourself.
uga had 3 dropped passes in first have then 1 in second half. And 19 penalties would be a record. It was 9. Get a new fg kicker he obviously chokes. Uga defense is tough in red zone has been all year
One of those missed field goals by Texas should've been an interception the play before but nobody remembers that. Georgia has dealt with wide recievers dropping passes all year but since Texas had some dropped passes they beat themselves? Lol
MuttBeTouchingHimself, if Ewers plays the whole game against ASU or in any other playoff game, Texas will lose. Ewers has no mobility and isn't accurate on medium- or long-range throws. Arch Manning should have been starting after Ewers hurt his ankle. If Texas can't run the ball (what happened against UGA), they're done without Manning.
Texas has the best odds to win the natty right now because Oregon and Ohio State play each other, and one is getting eliminated. As soon as that game is over the winner will leap frog Texas (probably by a lot) as the odds on favorite to win it all. At that point winners on the other side of the bracket might also have better odds than Texas because of Texas having to face Oregon/OSU next.

the longer the 12 team playoff exists the more likely that talent will spread out to teams where it might not have gone to back when it was 4 teams. the days of Alabama going every year are gone sir.
Now that ever team can pay the players, not just Alabama, osu, and a couple of others. Kids will start making more schools better. At least the one's with money.
It don't matter how many five star athletes you have if you don't have a coach to bring the best out of the player
Anyone who thinks there won't continue to be 3-4 elite perennial contenders is kidding themselves. Sure, there are probably 10-20 schools with the resources to be in the rotation, and they will swap in and out of elite contention status, but you will continue to see a small handful of teams utterly dominate the playoffs, as we always do.

...and, they had to win in OT with a backup QB to win the SEC title.
And Ole Miss stomped 'em--with Carson Beck
GA has a history of games like that and still managed to win 2 titles in 4 years, so what exactly is your point?
That having a history of barely scrapping by and relying on the recently proven faulty SEC bias in post season selection isn't going to cut it anymore 😂@Thebackendhugo3229
Now UGA starting QB is out. But then again UGA did win 2 Nattys with a walk on QB
Texas has a Georgia problem, we've played Will " Spill the pill" Howard and Gabriel and know their game. Yeah I never understood why Texas gets so glazed for 0 top 25 wins and 2 losses to the same team and a chance to lose to them 3 times cuz they not beating Georgia in the natty.
They’re not beating UGA in the natty cuz they aint getting to the natty. They’re going down to winner of Ducks/Bucks (Bucks!)

Looking rough against Michigan rn 💀💀💀
So you're saying texas out because of qb but georgia still in or how about will howard only being propped up by multiple multi million dollar wr's
I’m really pulling for Arizona State , can’t stand orange, no matter what state, with that said Oregon has been the best eyeball team all season
I think ND has won the eye test. Best on paper is OSU, best on the field is Oregon.
Nick Saban said Gunner is a great QB. Everyone act like Beck did everything for Georgia!!
ND doesn't have an elite coaching staff??? Please explain this as their offensive coordinator produced a Heisman winner last year and is working miracles with a QB who can't pass more than 6 yards downfield!!

Texas wound go down by 21 to Oregon or Ohio state
Man, did you just call Texas a pretender? Pretty funny stuff Matt.
@Digitalsapien and I think I made my point with out even calling you stupid.
Texas has the best odds to win and you call them a “Pretender” 😆 🤦🏻♂️
You do realize that their path has to go through one of the two teams that you say has the best chance of winning it all. Meaning they have to beat the best team before they get to championship. And they still have the best odds…
Who ever wins the osu vs Oregon game will have the new best odds
Boy sleep on Riley Leonard
No one is sleeping on him. He can’t throw the damn ball worth a crap. Any competent defense would shut that one dimension down and ND would get smacked.
It will be Oregon vs Georgye in the national Championship, calling it right now
It's a pretty easy prediction to make. Georgia got the easiest route and it Oregon beats Ohio State they should beat Texas or ASU.
Agreed! Not sure why we expanded the playoff to 12 teams when 6 was plenty.
Oregon is going to choke
Shoulda been Oregon vs the U but they hate the ACC n Miami defense is hot steaming garbage
I’m hoping Georgia can bring the championship home to the SEC this year, but at the same time, I realize that would mean Alabama fans will continue hearing how Georgia is the new dynasty, which can get a bit frustrating.😂
Still, I’ll always root for the SEC no matter what. I will say, this is the first year I’ve genuinely felt Ohio State has a real chance at winning the national title.
To say Texas has no chance to win a championship is ridiculous. They have just a good shot as the other elite teams.
Matt do you think that all 7 teams in the nfl playoffs could win it all? Not to compare college to nfl but Matt let’s be real every sport that has the playoffs, there are teams that you can see and tell aren’t going to win a championship
They do sometimes do it, 7 NFL wildcard teams have won the Superbowl.
@ there are only two first round byes in the nfl, well there used to be now it’s only one I think that stat is a little skewed but it does make sense
8 team is best and that’s to shut up the maybe one year out of ten that a 7th or 8th best team have a real shot at winning NC.

Penn State has a chance to make the finals and still get boat raced against a contender with a qb worth a damn. This is their ceiling.

The key point is to give more teams a chance, and it will spread more talent around.
Watch carefully the penalties. Referees can help and hurt teams according to directives.
PSU can't beat OSU or Oregon?! They played both and lost each game by a single score.
Yes but they were controlled In both games. We all knew penn state wasn’t winning
Took a last second fg for Oregon to beat boise after a punt return and kickoff return early season. Don't go to sleep on boise they may surprise you.
Matt, why are you so mad if the teams you think are the best are going to win anyways?
Georgia beat TX one time. The second time TX beat themselves. 5 dropped passes in the redzone, 2 missed FGs, 19 penalties for 96 yards, in a 3 point game. That's beating yourself.
uga had 3 dropped passes in first have then 1 in second half. And 19 penalties would be a record. It was 9. Get a new fg kicker he obviously chokes. Uga defense is tough in red zone has been all year
@@THESTEVESHOW-if1ft Texas beat themselves by letting UGA sack Ewers 6 times and holding Texas total rushing yards to 31 (UGA rushed for 141 yds)

You immediately discounted the best Defense in college football because you don’t think their QB play or Coaching isn’t good enough?
Big oversight.
