EDITING TO ADD- Some colors are apparently having issues with production, so they are delayed a bit (Seemingly the Onyx and Hematite dice.) People are letting me know in the comments that the PIXELS discord has told them about this- so be aware of possible delays for an unknown amount of time if you DO get those.

@@snailorgy I want to say I got the same one in this video (both of them). I can also say I think the stuff is too bright to read until the lights go away and I wish I had gotten the darker ones.
@@mebeksis I also got mine months ago. I was waiting for the dimmer feature to be added to the app, and once it was, it's way easier to read. I honestly keep it super low (maybe 5% brightness) which it still looks good, is legible, and I haven't had to charge it in months.

Watching this I was thinking "okay an app seems like overkill" then it proceeds to be wildly impressive.
Nice to see a project fully come out. So many techs and board games just putter out. Not disappointed I did not get them, mainly because of the photo-sense issues, but I am sure people love these. I do like them working on the VTT.
You can always turn the light off if you wanted the VTT connectivity, but yeah I wouldn't risk it if you have photo-sense issues.
I backed the KS after watching your previous video (like, immediately after, the day the video went up. I said “holy shit” to your crits, then I showed your vid to my partner, asked if we should back, got the yes, and then backed that day), and while it DID turn out to be worth the wait, it was a little lengthy. That said, I’m really glad you did this follow-up. I’m hoping plenty of folks who were excited to see how it turned out see your review and grab one, because without exaggerating, the Pixels are the absolute coolest fucking dice we own. We both got the Aurora Sky colorway, which as you said doesn’t have the legibility issues, and is absolutely magical. Thanks for pointing us to what is now the crown jewel of each of our dice collections!

Original Backer here, still waiting on fullfilment on a Midnight Galaxy set, I had to delay my order because the way the product was setup had us Europeans paying WAY too much in taxes (they were gonna ship the dice at their current price instead of the kickstarter price), so I'm sitting at order number 95k+ made Jan 16th.
I'm still waiting on mine to arrive, mainly because I got 2 full sets when the original kickstarter dropped. It was insane how quickly they got funded, I was somehow able to get a number under a thousand.
There were definitely moments where I'd thought I was scammed, but honestly this reassured me significantly.

Well it's nice to know they're finally being shipped. Me and a friend backed these when they came to kickstarter and we're still waiting.

@@Rybonator We are, I think it's because we ordered the opaque ones. There seems to be an issue with the hematite one.
I hope mine ships soon! As far as I understood it, there were some manufacturing troubles with the Onyx Black dice, so my set has been on hold for a while. Can't wait to eventually get them though!
That makes sense as to why some people haven't gotten theirs yet then. Hopefully soon!
@@Rybonator I looked it up in their Discord announcements really quickly. It's Onyx and Hematite which have production issues. (Other comments mentioned still waiting on their Hematite dice). A lot of those dice have issues with the 11 and 13 faces apparently, and they are still working out a fix for them. So it's unclear when the orders that include those types of dice will eventually ship :(

Went with Onyx because I saw the videos on their shop page. Immediately changed my color choice. Now, I continue to wait for their amazingly slow production and shipping process.
Been losing hope I'll ever get mine. Ordered multiple sets. They opened their website to get shipping handled in January 2024 and only a small percentage of single d20 orders have shipped and it's now mid August. Over 100k still in production or waiting to be shipped. I've gone through 2 houses, gotten married, and had 3 kids since I backed them right after your original video about them. Now it's looking like GTA 6 will be out by the time I get them ☠️

Ooh yay! I love the review videos! You always get into the good and bad. It’s great because it’s very easy to get distracted by the pretty dice or cool concepts. I would definitely watch more deep dives and reviews, even if it means I’d be tempted to buy more stuff which my wallet probably wouldn’t be happy about 🤣

What you're seeing as "bubbles" is likely solder points on the circuit board. This was brought up when the first dice started shipping out.
Also, what you're seeing on the 1 face is a byproduct of the electronics cradle positioning. So while it is a sprue, it's not from a from a sprue mold like you're probably thinking.
I got a Midnight Galaxy Pixel D20 from the Kickstarter backer reward.
I've been using it for important rolls in my games.
The super bright led lights really make it hard to see the number, that's why I change the setting so that it lights up for a half a second on 2 - 19.
I made the 1 and 20 at 2 seconds cuz those have different light effects that makes it easy to recognize.
That's a smart way to go about it! I know our table gets excited if they see a rainbow or red color, because it either means a crit or a fail one way or another!
there isnt a brightness setting? Thats insane, just for the slight longevity boost youd want it as an option.

the tts feature is really handy for someone who doesn't have the best eyesight or if the die is out of view
There you go! You can set it up for literally any roll of the die :)
It's very useful for blind folks like me. Being able to have it read out what it rolls is great! I've designed and printed out braille dice, too, but it's far easier to hear what a die's app says than to fumble to try and read the braille on a face. Niche, but definitely my niche.
rgbpods dice. Would be cool for a voidstar labs when he gets to tabletop boardgames with this blingy hobby.

I backed the kickstarter pretty early on and got my D20 a few months ago. Definitely worth the wait. Also to counter a point in the vid about playing in the dark, my dnd group exclusively plays with only led string lights for lighting, and this dice looks marvelous in that setting.

I can't wait for my Pixels to arrive. But of course I ordered the hematite version, which they've had extra problems getting the colors & opacity just right.
As to playing games in the dark. While I've never played an RPG in "pitch black", I did once play a horror game where we were all trapped on a sub deep underwater. The only light sources in the room was a bunch of green glow sticks. It was both awesome to set the mood and not fun to read the character sheet holding a glow stick just above the page. That was some 30 years ago. I don't know how my Old Man Eyes would do in that dim lighting. But I recommend playing in good mood lightning any time you can and these dice will help that out!
I could also see dimming the non-20 & 1 results, but I'm not sure if the app allows that. Without any dice I can't do much with the app.
Im a Kickstarter supporter and ordered mine in january. But one of the 2 dice I ordered is in one of the cursed colorways and super delayed. But I waited like... 4 years? Maybe 6? I don't remember. I can wait a few more months tho :)))

They are looking into making a profile that will keep the HIGHEST face from lighting up, for that specific reason. Just too many irons in the fire with the Onyx/Hematite issues. Once those get solved, they can start looking into things like that! Glad you like them!
Also, Foundry has had an official module for a bit now, made by the foundry team themselves! Super cool of them

I'm glad to see some actual dice of these out in the wild. There have been several moments when this REALLY felt like a scam and seeing as I don't expect to get dice until 2025 at the earliest - because come on, there is no way they will actually keep the current autumn shipping date given that they have started hiding updates in the comments on the kickstarter, especially after all the problems for us Europeans, it's reassuring to see that its just slow and unreliable production, not a scam. Fingers crossed a 5 year wait will be worth it! Pity for the trouble though, this was a good idea that I will never purchase from or recommend again. If you're not already a backer? Avoid.
Waiting on my order to get to me, really happy to see that there are plenty of good signs that the dice are being produced without major issues.

Hi! i would like to ask something! im from spain (so I am sorry for my english) Im starting in this wonderfull dicemaking world and Im going to buy a preassure pot :D But i dont know exaclty how many time i have to let the compressor working, i mean, i have to leave the machine on for 24 hours until the dices are cured? or i use the preassure compressor some minutes (i dont know how many) and then turn off the machine and let the dices at the pot 24 hours? Thank you! i love your videos and i know you have a preassure pot video and i saw it, but anyway i have this question ^^

My husband backed for just a single dice and still hasn't received his.

Wild that there are delays at all since my friend said he ordered these maybe 6 months ago, long after the KS ended. Perhaps specific types of dice (the midnight galaxy etc.) are ready to go but the others are delayed? Who knows.
I was an original backer but am still waiting for fullfilment. I'm glad people are getting their hands on them now but lord is it taking them ages.

That's what they've said the issue is but they're also not giving people an option to switch to a different color or just even cancel their orders for a refund.
I'm glad people are getting them but the fact that people who ordered 6 months ago have theirs vs people who backed 3+ years ago is insane to me.
They keep repeating the same bull about delays but since January they said single dice shipment should have gone out around June or July and there's still no new updates or estimates on when the affected dice will actually go out.

I've had people ask that before, but I'd have to decline. There are too many chances for a dice set to fail and I just wouldn't feel comfortable accidentally messing up the ashes of someone's relative. Thanks for thinking of me for that though
These look cool, but probably wouldn't get them, my photosensitivity would destroy me if the lights go full on strobe, which sadly happens to be the norm for these kinds of gadgets, I can't even get RGB lights in my set up.
It would be really cool if you could pick color and intensity, I'd likely go for softer color combinations, but if it's hard to read at this point I think I'll just wait until they make a few more revisions.
i would be interested to see if the weight distribution from the electronics inside affect the rolls. i’m sure it was just luck, but you did mention that you were getting a lot of crits, is it possible that the dice are unbalanced?

What's up, I just watched an old video on alcohol inks for the petri effect and I see that the white color pinata blanco blanco is always used. Unfortunately I can't get that product since I live in Latin America. (We live in hard mode 😅😂). Is there a way to achieve the same effect without that product? Could white alcohol ink of any brand work?

Do you know if using in foundry it will allow you to roll physically and also roll with your character sheet? Or is it one or the other? Like when the foundry feature for using the dice is activated does it allow you to access the built-in virtual platform game dice as well to roll if you want to switch back and forth between your physical dice and the virtual dice.
Fairly certain it's both based on their demo video. Check on the Pixels YT channel to double check me on that

I ordered my kickstarter rewards back in January. I still haven't gotten my rewards yet. 2 different d20's.
My assumption is that they have manufactured specific types of dice but not all? Not sure why, but yeah I'm hearing that a lot of people haven't gotten them, which is strange since these were NOT kickstarter orders.
there are some colorways that manufacturing has trouble with. hematite grey and onyx afaik. one of my dice is hematite so im in the same boat as you. ordered in january and still waiting.

There is an update in the kickstarter comments (and on discord) from end of July (also they posted another one that there will be a full update next week on those 2). Not trying to defend the decision to not make it a full update though

lmao "fully out" is kind of a stretch. been waiting 4 months now for any word on whats going on with the dice i kickstarted 3+ years ago. this one product has singlehandedly kept me away from any kickstarter or gofundme ever. i want these dice but if you had told me i was going to have to go through all of this when i ordered them i would have been happy to keep the money. this whole release feels like a horrific game launch
