should todays f1 stars should they do more guest races?
no copyright intended I don't own anything I am just trying to open a discussion on top level races doing guest appearances in lower category races.
I found some old footage I recorded in 2001 at the final round of the world karting championship in Kerpen Germany Micheal schumachers home town my upmost respect for Michael Schumacher to take on the best karters at the time in a race where he has so much to lose but Michael just loved to race in the 1st race he moved up the grid after problems in qualifying then goes off showing how tricky the conditions are but in the 2nd race he manages to finish 3rd overall on the road later 2nd after a penalty for another driver a fabulous result showing how great a driver he is.
I think todays f1 stars would be reluctant to do anything like this with various sponsor issues and to be honest I don't think many of todays f1 drivers would want to do it as they might be worried about there reputation if they did poorly but Michael just loved to race anything and was never worried about a challenge what do you think let me know in the comments for me I would love to see more of this stuff I speak from experience having raced against Jenson button and many other top drivers see my video here.
• DAN WHELDON MEMORIAL K... racing against top drivers is exciting for younger inexperienced drivers something we should encourage.i was lucky enough to race against Vitantonio Luizzi in a red bull karting challenge ( I overtook him in 1 race ) when he was in f1 with red bull Vitantonio Luizzi was the driver who won this 2001 world karting championship as you can see future f1 stars were in this race Luizzi / Nico Rosberg / Lewis Hamilton for them at the time I am sure they enjoyed racing against Michael for me I would like to see more of this let me know in the comments what you think do you want to see your favourite f1 stars do other lower category races ?.

Only today I discoverd that Hamilton,Rosberg have fought Michael Schumacher in 2001. This race was a milestone.

Ron Dennis sponsored Lewis at that time I believe, and Ham treated him as a Uncle, up until this day. They are pretty close in their personal life I believe.
@@jd9799 Yes, he was. He still is. Depends really which racing licence he decides to use. Later he used the German licence to get better sponsorship opportunities. Keke, the ever businessman, was wise. In 2010 there were two Germans driving for Mercedes in F1, not a Fin and a German.
Rosberg ahead of Hamilton in both races though...
yes in the days before Hamilton was in the best car / kart / Rosberg and Hamilton were in the same kart team in this race

Fernando Alonso was also taking on Micheal in F1 in this year
that was in 2005 and 2006, this kart championship was held in 2001.
Hamilton is Ron Dennis's nephew...never knew that....No wonder Alonso got screwed over by Dennis when he went to McLaren in 2007!

Giedo van der garde in 5th, it's a shame he never got in a really competive team in f1
yes I remember him being really good driver in different series. f1 can be a lottery with timing how competitive each team is each year

yes most if not all of todays f1 drivers would be too scared that they might be embarrassed by a junior driver in equipment that is more equal micheal just loved to race and had the skill to be competitive against the top drivers at the time in world karting championship he loved his karting like senna said in his film his best memories was racing in karting its pure racing

yes so easy to lose the grip in the wet and not be able to recover what I respect is him even racing against these karters who were doing nothing but karting in this top class at the time yes he knows that track but not being constantly in a kart racing was a disadvantage he did a brilliant job

Irony or Fate, all of them are WDCs and all drove the silver arrow.
Today maybe a handfull of them called ("F1 driver") know how to drive a kart specialy in the wet.

thanks i just wish the modern f1 drivers went back to things like this but they are worried about their image Michael always just loved racing racing anything he didn't care about his performance and ego unlike some of todays drivers yes Michael was legend driver and normally could win but todays drivers don't even try yes some of the modern drivers go to that race of champions event at end of the year which is fun to watch but they should do more stuff like this

Use to love with the pro drivers from f1, IndyCar car etc use to race karts eurosport use to show it I believe

Why did Rosberg change his country?
I think he has always thought of himself more as a German although his father is a Finn. Nico doesn't even speak Finnish, they spoke German at home. Commercial reasons might have also contributed.
He did change his nationality at some point in his teen years to start racing at Formula BMW, which you could race only if you had german nationality.
Not true. Nico won the 2002 BMW championship under the Finnish flag and the series had several non-German drivers. Nico has always had both Finnish and German nationalities but switched to race under German license/flag before getting to F1.

think he holds duel nationality think born in Finland or Germany then Monaco he can pick and choose when he likes to suit
He is born in German for a German mother. But yes, he has dual citizenship.
He speaks German at home
