You stated correctly 96 stitches to the end of round 8, but then when you got to the end of the round you said 94 stitches two times and I think it was supposed to be 96. So this is just for the newbies who weren't sure. But every round should be divisible by 12 up to this point. 😊
I caught it also. The total stitch count should be 96 stitches. We've all made the same mistake at times with our stitch count. It just proves that Crystal is human like the rest of us. I love 💕 you, Crystal. You are, in my opinion, the best instructor in the crochet world.
Hi I made your reversible beanie last night, started the ribbed beanie today & now I’m checking this one out. I’m making as many as I can to give away to homeless people & some for family. I don’t have much money, but Dollar Tree had Premier Just yarn, I got 16 skeins of worsted ,they are 109 yards, medium weight #4 total was $20 w/o tax. I think I can make at least 8 beanies with that amount. I really want to buy a mystery box from you, My kids are going to gift me the money for my birthday on 9/22/24, (your bday twin). I’m so happy, I’m hoping to know when I can get a mystery box now that I finally have the funds to get one. Thank you for teaching me & trust that you are my therapy & inspiration. Thanks again Crystal.
Some Dollar Tree stores have Premier’s Just One Pound yarns in red, denim blue, black, white and olive green; 982 yards, 4 weight, 100% acrylic for $5. It’s just not at all the stores.
@@DiannaFlores-x1h I had to go to several stores as well before finding some. But I just found out that Premier’s website has the white, black and forest green for $5. Only downside have to pay for shipping.
The way you made the ribbing so pronounced and long at the top is so original & striking & it looks incredible in just a solid color yarn. Your amazing brain has done it again!
I started this a month ago and finally got the chance to finish it today. This was an incredibly fun project and the beanie looks great! I'll post a picture on FB if I can figure out how to do it. Your videos are fun and easy to follow. Thanks!
The saying goes that you learn something new every day. I have never heard of the third loop on a half double. How about that! It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. The beanie is turning out great. I had some green yarn and made it in that but now I am going to make another one in an ivory color. I think it looks very expensive. Thanks so much Crystal for sharing your talent with so many.
Making a little bag like this for my great granddaughter for Christmas who loves purses. She is only 2 but is a fashionista. Using the hexagon square though instead of the square one. Keep your fingers crossed it turns out ok . May make her one like this also ❤❤
O wow this looks similar to a beanie my sister showed me yesterday and ask me if I could make her one. So now I have a pattern to use love this. It’s the style she wanted. Thank you Crystal you must have known I needed this!
Yes 🙌🏻 I LOVE your beanies!!!! 🫶🏻that’s beautiful and the yarn is exquisite. I treated myself today to some of Ancient Art Yarn. Can’t wait to feel it. The stitch definition is incredible ❤
I halfway made this in a slightly bulkier 4. It was too big. I am redoing it in some nicer yarn from Furls and it is working up really well. This is one of my favorites in your more recent beanies!
Beautiful beanie!! I love your hats, beanies, shawls, ponchos and video tutorials. I haven't made one of the cardigans or shirts yet but I did get some beautiful scarfie yarn to make your off the shoulder top in umber
I don't tend to follow tutorials like you. I enjoy being able to spend time making up my own patterns and experimenting to see how things work out,but I have enjoyed your video so much that I will definitely be having a another enjoyable day following one of your videos again thank you for such a fantastic video. 🎉😊 From England 🏴
I too used a #4 yarn, a H hook. Counting every row. Making sure I had the right stitch count. This thing is HUGE! Even if I go down another hook size I don't think it would be much smaller. It must be the yarn you are using. Maybe it's more of a #3?
👋 Crystal. Love this hat. I used Stylecraft Impressions, UK weight Aran, and 6mm hook. Mine has turned out just a bit big 😂 but it looks gorgeous. 1st garment I have made of yours, but have started the poncho with sleeves, I think it's called Carolina? I live in the UK, but so used to the American terms now, so that's no problem now. Thanks so much for all your tutorials ❤🎉
I used a four weight yarn and same size hook but my hat came out Huge! Lol! I mean really huge!! It’s 8” tall and 12” across. I don’t know what I did wrong. I didn’t even do last two rows! Going to try different yarn see if comes out smaller! God Bless. Take care. Love you. ❤️😇🙏 Ok did another one with a lighter weight four came out perfect lol! Trial and error! ❤️🙏😇
I made this hat today also I tried it on after row 8 and it measured 8” so I ripped out row 8 after the hdc section I did the dc row but was only able to do two rows I hat was still big. I finished by doing 4 sc decreases. I really like the pattern so planning on making another one. I may have to drop to 4.5. I will have try it on more frequently. I hope this all make sense.
I was waiting for this tutorial as soon as i saw you wearing the hat! Doing a prectice run before making one for my son for his birthday. This one is a bit large. I wonder if i need to go back and tighten it up.
I did a bit of tweaking on a couple of the single crochet rounds ( single crochet decrease) and brought it down to 74 stitches. Then I just adapted from there. I like the way it ended up ❤
Can you talk at some point about how you decide how many stitches to put in the first round? Is it just which stitch you are using or are there other variables like the yarn weight or hook size, etc.? Thanks!
You stated correctly 96 stitches to the end of round 8, but then when you got to the end of the round you said 94 stitches two times and I think it was supposed to be 96. So this is just for the newbies who weren't sure. But every round should be divisible by 12 up to this point. 😊
I apologize... you are correct! Thank you for catching that 😊
