- Welcome to Soverato!! Finally I make a video of my own backyard. I made a walk with us video last year but everything was locked down and closed so it didn’t really capture the absolute amazingness of this city. People always ask me to recommend a place to live in Calabria, and my top pick is always Soverato. It has everything you need and sits on the most epic beaches. You don’t need to live right in the center, the neighboring towns are great too. My dearest friend Ash came with me and we had a little aperitivo, a little vino and the famous Italian granita!!

My grandmother's town! Best "big little city" in southern Italy. Been there several times first time back in 1971 when I was a teenager. The Miramare was hopping with live music and dancing under the starts. Oh my gosh, what memories. Love the corso for shopping, and the lungomare for people watching. I love how old and young mix. Every time our plane lifts off to return to the states, our family is usually filling up with tears. Someone once said, "I think Italy is God's prototype for Heaven".....soooooo right.
Wow that’s amazing!! I wish I could have experienced soverato in the 70s I’m sure it was hoping!! I agree I think it’s the best city in Calabria because it feels small and big at the same time. So happy this video brought you back to the good ol days. It’s still here whenever you want to visit! Thank you for watching

Here you have the banks and all financial and legal offices,and yes the siesta is amazing,
the towns shut down,most people go to sleep and when they wake up.....vroom straight to the bars

Ummmmmmm maroon glaces in catanzaro lido is also very good but yea I wont argue too much on this one! They are all good!

Seems like a really good city. Vibrant, and like you say, hospitals, good schools, and all important things on your doorstep, not to mention a wide variety of great food. How nice to have a fellow American visiting, and from Florida, my state that I love and miss 🌴🥥🙂
Yea it was great having her here and seeing Calabria through her eyes. We really showed off this place and I think she’ll be Calabrian in no time!

just spent a month in Abruzzo ..it was the cheapest vacation of my life ...10 course meals with wine and aperitivo for under 25 euro's ..unbelievable ..couldn't make it to Calabria sadly,but next time i will be there
Yes Abruzzo is very similar to Calabria although I think it may be even cheaper down here and of course our beaches beat theirs by far!!! So cheap here!!

Lol I shop my own closet. I’m a a former cloth whore who used to have 300 pairs of shoes. I’ve let most of it go but still have a massive closet. I’m doing my bear to not buy anything ever again but if I do it’s always local and well made. Thanks for the support and love!!
