Fiji Girmit Bhajan - Aaron Singh

145th Girmit Independence day. On this day the Fijian community remembers the sacrifices and struggles of their ancestors who endured the difficult journey from India to Fiji and the challenges they faced in a new land. The day is observed with various cultural performances, traditional food, and speeches from community leaders.
This song “Mohe Fiji Des” was on my dad’s 5th album released in the 90’s. I recreated it and had it published on my recent album with the help of the amazing Bandish Band of Fiji & Infinity Studios. With the song is a collection of clips and pictures from the 1800-1900s.
