      graph view works as usual, you can implement it into a new vault and create a system later, and I'm not sure which index note you're referring to, but there should be no problem as well. maybe you can create a copy of your vault as a back up incase there are any issues and you need to revert back?

    Was this plugin updated recently? My interface looks very different from yours. When I open the Spaces tab, there are no spaces or contexts tabs, there is no icon for creating a new space and the button for creating a new note is very small and off to the side. I can choose between "Home", "Vault" and "Tags", which I assume are the pre-made/default spaces. When I click on the Plus Icon right next to them, I can apparently add a new space but it's a lot more finicky than in your case and only shows me a list of my existing folders and files. There is no extra icon that let's me make a new space. The only way I managed to add a new space was by literally going to the obsidian folder in my file explorer. I also can't seem to display multiple spaces at the same time (instead they are more like tabs?) and there is no extra icon to click on when sorting the folders, they just move when I click anywhere on them and drag.
    I tried this plugin on an existing vault and I can only see my folders when I click on the "Vault" space. But then it's literally just like vanilla Obsidian with the exception that I can manually sort my folders. But most confusingly, it opens a new folder that is also called "Vault", which contains all my other folders again, including another "Vault" folder - so I can keep opening this one indefinitely. I'm not sure if this is a feature or a bug, either way, it just makes it over all less convenient to use and extremely confusing.
    Your video makes it look so incredibly easy to use, but it just looks so different for me?

    • @itsjohnmavrick
      @itsjohnmavrick  Год назад

      that is true, but I think we can redefine the way folders are used. in my case, I have each folder as a type of note in the vault. @@MCandMosRandomChannel you may want to try the "Paste Image Rename" community plugin, which displays a popup when you paste an image into an Obsidian note and you can then change the filename right there. By default, the plugin only listens for pasted images but you can set it to act on all attachments (e.g. images you drag into Obsidian from File Explorer). Also, consider the core Obsidian Settings for specifying where attachments should be saved as the default is to dump everything into the root of your vault.

    this is making Obsidian look like it is literally Notion. it's not embracing Obsidian's markdown syntax note taking system that this app originally has. If this plugin's only objective is to make Notion have an easier alternative note taking app, then it is just better to learn Notion as a whole than transferring to this app to use this plugin. At least by that, Notion has all the very advanced database system accessible the moment you open the software rather than just installing different community plugins in Obsidian.

      how does it not embrace obsidians markdown syntax note-taking system? youre still able to use it? it just provides extra functionality, including a command bar to help with creating markdown elements

      @@itsjohnmavrick I just find it better if you use an app in raw form without extensions/plugins like this if not necessarily needed. i love Obsidian though, it's fun learning it's markdown syntax. I guess it's just really based on a person's preferences

    Soooooo that makes like what 4, 5 ways now that obsidian can do what notion does? Yeah, with all the other things that are obsidian exclusive it's a no brainer

      Hmm, for personal use and if you're willing to spend time to learn how to customize Obsidian, then yes I'd say it's worth it !

      have you enabled performance mode in settings? the only slow part for me is spaces at times

    The plugin and its ways of doing things seems so incredibly over-engineered for its aim. It seems to be so round-about and take such a long way around what otherwise should be way more strait forward and simple. The time wasted on trying to get things the way you want could be spent actually getting work done. I'm going to try out AnyType instead.

      I personally think it's pretty straightforward, especially since they have to work on top of obsidian seeing as it's not a native feature
      its a bit of setup for the rest of your time using the vault
      anytype does sound cool tho :o

    Does this thing conflict with other plugins? Or is it now broken in general? Seems very buggy, slow and unresponsive.
