So beautiful... it makes me have goosebumbs.. so amazingly beautiful this is. (To bad that it is not on the cd Fairytales. Not on the one that i have.) So thanks for sharing this.. so beautiful.
This song was written by great Russian composer Sergey Rachmaninoff and dedicated to the Russian singer Antonina Nezhdanova. Thank you young and talanted Alexander Rybak for bringing music of Rachmaninoff to the new listeners of the new age. Thank you and good luck in everything you do!
i agree with you to me 13 horses is a very strong song full of emotion and the struggle to survive. very touching. I'd say what i love most about him is the way he is able to make what he wants to express trough his violin flow into the listener.... almost like if it was magi. ^^"
You really don't get it, don't you? They all die...Sad but true. The second last stanza has the metaphorical meaning. The last horse isn't really coming back home, he's going to a safe place where he'll rest, which means - he's going to heaven.
+Amani Niclevisk Sviercoski I thought the definition of "vocalise" was singing a melody with vowel sounds or individual syllables rather than text; a vocal passage consisting a melody without words. I don't hear vocals or singing in this song. So why do you say that I "urgently" need to study music?
This piece of music was originally written by Rachmaninoff for voice. No lyrics to the melody, only "Ah" throughout the piece. That's why the title is Vocalise.
Its a great performance, but not a new song. Vocalise was composed by Rachmaninov , a russian composer born 1873. I think that piece is also available on UK and Norwegian Cd version.
Gorgeous!! This song takes my breath away from me...
Amazingly played by Alexander rybak.
Just loving it!
Yes, Amazing, the picture and the full violin feeling of the piece, Alexander.
I love your musical path for us. Thank you, for it heals.

Is aswell in the british release of the CD
no,the last 13 horse survives
yea they did....
No, they don't die all. The thirteenth horse (the best) survives, and he is longing for his home
Strange that for a song called "Vocalize," there are no vocals.
Please, my dear... you need to study music, urgently!

is this piece on any of his CD s? i cant find it :(
@Maximoo45 he did die, he was thinking of it all when he died.
@TaivasItkeeLW Indeed? I didn't knew there was a horse's heaven :)
@Maximoo45 No he does die, "soon they will be gone forever"
I still think that all of them died, but to be absolutely sure we should ask Rybak :)
sait moi qui voudrais etre ta copine alexander rybak je taime mon amour
I wanted to ask if all the horses die?
He Writes all the songs by himself

no - it's Rachmaninov
but alex performance...
Nicely done, but I think Vocalise sounds better with cello than violin. Lynn Harrell's performance is my favourite v=5ZhtK5RrBOo for vid
@Maximoo45 What the hell? x))) Okay, sure, it's plane...I get that...
Vocalise is not a "brand new song" come on ¬¬
His version is ok. Kind of overdone, in my opinion, but everyone plays it in their own way I guess.
thereez93 I think you misspelled 'amazing'
