- One mile outside Primm the Dong family immediately noticed an issue with their RV when they saw their left rear tire rolling beside them-a sign that their Yellowstone trip would face a detour.
Love how James brings a little extra energy and different perspective to his reports. Hope he stays at Ch 8 for a while. He’s one of the good ones!!
Agreed!
He was my neighbor. He is a good guy! 👍🏿
I've already commented on his reporting the first time I saw him. He's good. I always enjoy his reports.
That's a good reporter. Suited up and articulate.
This James dude cracks me up every time😅best reporter in my book 💯
Also consider renting a satellite phone as there are many areas of rural Nevada that don't have cell service. You can do it all by mail where the phone is sent to you, and then you drop it off at a FedEx location when done.
Many thanks for this suggestion!! I plan moving in another year and will be driving north through remote areas (looks like) of Nevada.
Carry PLENTY of water in the trunk when driving across the desert!!!!! Bring more than you think that you will ever need, including the cold months.
Water isn't very tasty though. Considering brining either Mountain Dew or Red Bull.
The RV has 40 gallons of fresh water in a storage tank, but at 100+ degrees, the warm water is definitely not tasty. I could have made tea or coffee, though 😅
Huge thanks to James for providing a few bottles of cold water.
Hopefully the rv had enough fuel so he could at least idle & enjoy the A.C.
1:06 that's my new ring tone.
Dong!
My Mustang did catch fire outside of Carson City, on the to Dayton, Nev. But, it wasn't busy and man did if feel abandoned out there!! lol....Luckily i have family near that area....
Geez.. Being stuck like that must be so stressful, especially in a desert🚗💔
Darren Dong seems like a very nice and friendly guy. Breaking down on the side of the highway in triple digits or negative temperatures is never fun.
That reporter has been watching all the ‘How to be a classic reporter’ videos. Dramatic pauses and segues? CHECK!
“Casual” slinging of the sports jacket over the shoulder while walking towards the camera? CHECK! CHECK!
I feel so related to!
Sorry dong 😔
Why does the anchor talk like that?
Always bring frozen water. Why didn’t he have a spare?
There is a spare underneath, but the studs sheared off making it impossible to remount the tire. Fortunately it is a dually and the inner tire by some miracle didn't also come off when pulling over to the shoulder.
Darren Dong is a great stage name for adult film actor, better than Diggler.
Those RVs are nothing but problems and are expensive. Trash is trash even with an expensive price tag.
just call a tire service and give them your tire sizeand in this case the size of the wheel studs that sheered off. they do it on big rigs all the time and it's no more expensive that a tow truck.
The 2 roadside truck services that I contacted said their equipment won't work on my RV tires. I gave them the tire specs (LT225/75R 16E) and they said 17" rims is the smallest they can work on.
Ch 8 Lets James wear a polo, he doesn't need to wear that collar shirt with that tie on in that heat.
Men's tank top and cargo shorts
Common sense helps!!!
Before a cell phone we fixed are own equipment and always had better maintenance
And we would eat the weakest member of the family when stuck on the highway for more than a few hours.
@@randygraham926 yummy
The rv should of had a spare tire mounted under it
There is a spare tire, however all of the studs actually sheared off so there is nothing to mount it back on. Amazingly the inner tire didn't also come off or the axle would have hit the ground and way more damage would have occurred.
The real problem is no one respects workers, and low pay.
Respectfully, Vegas is a dump.
Shut your face. Disrespectfully.
So triple AAA failed. AGAIN lol!
Da.
It’s a good time to go to Death Valley and get your picture on the inflated thermometer. Or ride your motorcycle!
JAMES BETTER STAY IN ON WINDY DAYS. JUST SAYIN.
