    great to see self defence making a comeback to what made JJ so effective in the first place!

    After years on the mat you learn it not to judge by stripes or belt but rather a persons ability and attitude.many things are taken in to account for an "individuals" grading. Age,weight ,time on matt ect.
    My advice is learn the basic fundamentals well and drill basic techniques from different angles alot!! Steady progression will follow suit.

    I am a 1 stripe white belt at my gym and have learned almost all of these except for like 2 things at the end. That can't really be the whole test can it?

      I think it is..but there is most likely also some time on the mat required..like 6- 18 months.. depending on how often you train..

      They left out cross collar chokes and mount controls, to say the least. I think I was expected to demonstrate at least 5 different takedowns, body lock takedown, kosoto, osoto, ride the pipe style single and a basic knee squeeze double leg.

    really a bjj test? time on the mats and discipline is all you need a guy could be the worst practitioner in the world but if he has respect and is on the mats it doesn't matter how long it takes he will get his belt

      I think a blue belt should know more than what this test asks of 2 of every position is what a 3 stripe white or a dilagent 2 stripe knows. A blue belt should know all moves a dojo/university has to offer.

    If your a judo black belt and crossed trained to bbj how long would it before you became a black belt in Brazilian?

    • @locohomicida3348
      @locohomicida3348 4 года назад +4

      Usually Judo black belts are considered as blue belts in BJJ, , than it depends on how intensive you train...maybe up to ten years I`d say.

    • @destructionc7596
      @destructionc7596 3 года назад

      The average is 10 years. Even if you are a black belt in judo or any oth4er martial art or even if you are good in wrestling, the average is 10 year. I know a Judo black belt who's been doing it for 1-2 years and he's almost a blue belt. Judo focuses on standing they are dominate with that but they don't focus on Ne Waza that much. BJJ is all about Ne Waza and not so much about standing. See what I mean?

    • @nighthawk5301
      @nighthawk5301 3 года назад +1

      I did Judo for 10 years and competed the entire time. It took me 3 years to get my blue. 10 years is average but more and 12 -13 years.

      Something a bit off, like sure they knew the technique almost flawlessly in some cases but it all looked a bit too soft/fundamental. maybe the point of this test is just to demonstrate they know the moves ? :/

    I find this test too easy, with this anyone can get a blue belt and that's not right. I may be wrong that's just my opinion. I go to a Gracie Jiu jitsu school too. But this test seems way too simple for someone to get a blue belt.

    • @destructionc7596

      @@Daniel-ld7xs Ofc not. I know someone that is 35 and another that's 40 that started learning BJJ. But if you really are worried about getting injured and want a good BJJ experience I recommend going to a Gracie Jiu Jitsu school near you. If you have any questions about it you can just ask me on here and I can give you the info that I know. They teach BJJ from self defense aspect. Other BJJ school teach from sport view and others just competing and winning competition and don't know what to do if you get into a fight because one punch and then they are confused.

    Desculpe. Mas Avaliação nas artes marciais.... ela deve ser rotineiramente na observação e desenvolvimento do aluno como um todo e não na movimentação simplificada do golpe X ou Y. Isso não garante a eficácia da perfeição, pois ARTES MARCIAIS é um estudo sem FIM. OSS
