Just did this style for the 2nd time and I love it because it's less tension on your scalp and I'm tenderheaded. It also saves times and gets all your hair together at the roots making the braids look fresh.
I have the hardest time gripping. When I finally get the braid attached it's not as close as the root as it should.. I than can braid fast but the start is the issue. I did maybe 25 box braids tonight, didnt finish my hair. Think I will take them out and try rubberband method.

Especially living in the uk, those African beauty supply hair stores were the only places I bought my products mainly because they had such a wide variety . Hopefully the stores will open soon after this whole virus thing is over and I can finally braid my hair.

I cut m hair last year but with the whole lock down couldn't get a barber so I decided to grow it back. I wanted to braid it but it was too short so I turned to RUclips and found this method with one variation. You crochet a piece through the rubber band which prevents the braid from slipping out. (My hair is that short) It took me three days to do my hair. Cuz let me tell you, after I put the rubber bands I had to leave my head to cool of for a bit. That sht hurt! I finished it yesterday and still can't lie on my pillow properly. My scalp is still on fire :( and I can't style it at all. But the plus side is it's very neat.
They are cute but I will never use rubber band method again . I felt like my head was going to burst ! They were really cute but painful , I couldn't wait to take them out 🤯
It depends on how many times your wrap the rubber band around. You should never do it more then 5 times because when you are attaching the braid on, your adding some more pressure 🤷🏽♀️

With this quarantine.... this is me this week. I’ve braided my own hair twice before. The middle part is the toughest part on the hand

Does the Glaze prevents itchy scalp. I got my hair done and my base (roots) just itches a lot.
Prewashing with vinegar rinse gets the over spray off which usually causes the Itch
