This is such an elegant pattern. I've used it twice and both turned out beautifully. Can't wait to make the matching hats too. Thank you so much for sharing your tutorials. They are some of the BEST!
Yay! I was looking for a new project and this is it! I'm going to start right now. 😁 It's very pretty, looks easy to make and it's perfect for my momma who is AWAYS cold...even in the summer. Thank you for sharing this great project! Now I just need to battle my chihuahua who loves to try and lay on the project I am currently working on, while I'm working on it. 🤪🐕
I love this pattern. I'd like to make one for my niece. How can this pattern be reduced so the cowl is not so tall without losing the beautiful design? She's small and the height of most cowls makes them too bulky for her to wear comfortably
Maybe a little late for some, but I noticed other comments about the cast off and how it's tight, making it difficult to fit the cowl over your head. I'm still learning but what I figured out that worked to make the cast off fit better is you don't make it as tight. In a way, just loosely knit the cast off row which will help the yarn stretch out. If you also finished your first one and are like, "Well how the hell do I fix this once it's off the loom?", it's painstaking but you'll have to undo your cast off row and reattach your cowl to the loom. Then loosely cast off and knit in more yarn to help finish it. Essentially don't pull your yarn tightly when you're casting off, just a normal knit and go. I hope this helps other knitters because it took me a hot minute to figure this out myself.
Love the video! I just finished mine and unfortunately the side with the cast off is much too small? What did I do wrong? Are my stitches to tight or something
I found the same. The cast off side is definitely a bit tighter and I don’t know what to do to fix that. It’s beautiful otherwise. I would like to make another as a gift but need to fix that part first.
I have the same problem. On the cast off side my head doesn’t fit. I undid the cast off and put everything back on the loom and looking for a solution. Maybe a super stretchy bind off I’ve been reading of?
I personally find this basic bind off too tight on anything I make, so I now use Loomahat's Super Stretchy Bind Off; both ends come out about the same!
What is more important when choosing yarn for this pattern: weight or yardage? I have yarn I'd love to use its #5 bulky 141g and 120m per ball/skein. Would that be enough? Also are your amounts for each ball since you use 2 strands? Thanks
Hi Catherine! I am sure the yarn you have will be enough! :) I used a yarn called Schachenmayr Magic Knit: schachenmayr.com/en/yarns/magic-knit It says it is bulky, but it looked thinner to me, so that's why I used 2 strands at the same time, to make it thicker. The amount of yarn I used is in total. I took the 2 strand ends of 1 single ball and I worked with them at the same time. When I finished the hat, I had only used a half of a 200g ball.
Hi! I used 2 strands of yarn at the same time of a yarn called Schachenmayr Magic Knit (schachenmayr.com/en/yarns/magic-knit). I bought it online and when I received it it was thinner than I expected, so I decided to use 2 at the same time to make it "bulky"
I noticed in other comments you said to say yarn weight seemed more like a four than a 5 so you doubled up. If one has a true 5 bulky yarn you should they just use one strand? Or would you recommend just two strands with a number 5 bulky. If I prefer to use one strand can I use a number 6 super bulky
I find that the cast off side is really tight my head doesn’t fit. Have I done something wrong? Is there a way to make the cast off stretchy as the cast on side?

This is a great Video silly question did you use two yarns?

Hi there again! :) Yes, you can use a #6 or a thick #5 :) (size 5 and 6 are perfect for these type of looms)
Im going to do the hat first then the cowl then maybe a pair of glovesor phone holder thank Tuetate
Can I make this into a flat scarf ?
How would you do this stitch in a flat panel?
If I'm using an even number of pegs (36 pegs loom) should I keep doing the same way or should I change something?
Hi Carolina! You can do it in the same way (just ignore what I do on the last peg, my #41 peg, because you have an even number of pegs)
I find that the cast off side is really tight my head doesn’t fit. Have I done something wrong? Is there a way to make the cast off stretchy as the cast on side?

Is this an adult size? Is the hat not to big?
Que maco !
Moltes gràcies guapa!
Did you reupload?
Hi there! I uploaded the hat tutorial and the cowl tutorial :)
Where did you get the yarn
I bought it from an online shop called LasTijerasMagicas (located in Spain)
