Anders Osborne performs "Black Tar" from the album Black Eye Galaxy live at The Bluebird Theater in Denver. Recorded 5-18-12
Probably one of the greatest "addiction" songs ever. Up there with "Hurt" and "Sunday Morning Comin Down." This one though, paints the adversary as both horrifying and seductive, like a great silvery dragon.

Yep. We all think we got the good stuff in our music boxes, so might not venture to the outside that often. Anders don't fit in any stinkin box.
got to see him a few times this year he played at camp barefoot, lunar bay fest and when SCI played at redrocks hes one of the best modern blues musician

Both DT & Anders are great....they both slide......differently. & they both do it well. DT has a more jazzy flavor where Anders is grungier, more unhinged boogie rock. I own CD's from both.

Ok, I play guitar - been playing for nearly 30 years, and I play some slide too - but I have NEVER seen a player using 2 slides at the same time. I'm curious as to why? Anyone know?

In my opinion, it would take a stroke of genius to use two slides in a way that isn't just a gimmick.

Why the hell do we always have to put people against each other? Both Anders and Derek are great slide players and they are different kinds of players. why does it really matter if derek can play what anders does or if anders can play what derek can? They are both amazing guitarist making a great music Oh, and the fact that you even bring up derek standing like a statue just makes me want to pull m hair out. What the hell does that have to do with the music? you seem to miss part of the point
