    Reinforcement both positive and negative increases the behaviour. Positive increase the behaviour to be repeated , and negative increase the specific behaviour to avoid the unpleasant. Like mouse increases its behaviour to or learn the behaviour to avoid the unpleasant stimulus the current.

    Positive punishment remove the behaviour by giving positive type punishment like giving extra homework is positive, extra home chores is positive. On the other hand negative punishment is also removal of the behaviour or avoiding a behaviour but also taking the pleasure thing from the person, eg traffic police take challan to the person who breaks the rules.

    The same state is being used for negative reinforcement and negative punishment "the pleasurable thing is being taken away"

    • @MindReview
      @MindReview  Год назад +1

      In negative reinforcement unpleasant thing is taken away to increase a behaviour. Whereas, in negative punishment, a pleasant thing is taken away to decrease behaviour.

    • @MindReview

      Thank you! Yes sure, so the examples:
      Positive Reinforcement: getting a chocolate after scoring good marks in exams (so we are adding something to encourage the behaviour of scoring good marks)
      Negative Reinforcement: the child gets an off from her household duties for a day, because she performed well in her class exams (so we are removing something negative and stressful to encourage the behaviour of scoring good marks)
      Hope it helps 👍

    Mam, I have recently found your lectures it's really helpful... Mam what is the difference between positive punishment and negetive reinforcement.. both seems similar.

    • @MindReview
      @MindReview  3 года назад +3

      Thank you for the kind words.
      So basically, positive punishment is adding something unpleasant to change a behaviour (e.g. scolding a child for not doing homework). And, negative reinforcement is an attempt to change behaviour by taking away something unpleasant (e.g. removing the restriction of not being able to watch t.v. from a child when she completes her homework).
      I hope it help you understand better? 🌟
