We decorate the last week of October...has nothing to do with celebrating Thanksgiving in our family. We celebrate our Blessings daily, and the Holiday on the Calendar at my Daughters...Her favorite. I have Many Children and Family members at my house for Christmas. The little ones, and the big ones enjoy all the lights. My house is decked out and I'm loving Every minute of it. It takes this old lady a week to get it all out and up. I'm not gonna miss a minute. I have one Christmas Tree in my extra dining area all year. It goes with the 1950's soda fountain theme, and everyone heads in there to eat all through the year. Christmas is in my heart All Year, and Not just the date on the calendar. Enjoy! I Always enjoy your video's.
@@genevievelynn737 I know it will be beautiful when you get it decorated. You do a beautiful job, and have wonderful taste IMO. Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
Suggestion: Decor which is sentimental/special & I know, I will use every year, I put the date on the back w/tape & magic marker. One day Claire will inherit these items & she'll know which Xmas they were from, especially the cookies & milk set, which made me tear up. Btw, you are looking fabulous for a mom of 2 mos. You.Go. Girl!
I don’t understand why people care when you decorate for Christmas. I’m glad I have better things to be concerned about than if someone puts out Christmas decor before or after Christmas. I love your Christmas decorations. Can’t wait to see everything decorated. Happy Thanksgiving. 🦃
I wish I was close, I would have loved to purchase your white, light green, and green trees…. I think they might have been Target dollar spot. Love them. Lol. I am so wishing I had your will to let things go. I know with baby Claire, she has been your inspiration to down size and declutter. God bless you, keep it up. You are inspiring me. I too was a Rae Dunn collector, not anymore. I do love Magnolia Hearth and Hand though, white ironstone, milk glass, jadeite. I love everything you are doing in your home. Love your style, always have. I too love Christmas, it’s just so magical….and the smell of snow, love it. The milk and cookies are so cute. Claire is such a blessed little girl with a great loving Mama and Daddy. 😊❤
A photo of Claire in that little wood sled would be so cute! My son was 3 months old his first Christmas. I took a picture of him in his stocking (from the waist down) and it’s one of our most favorite photos ❤
Girl I cleaned out all my Christmas things from the attic in October. I would have started sooner, but it was still too hot to be up there where I live until closer to Halloween. Put my main tree up in the living room (undecorated until after thanksgiving), did my gingerbread house display on the bookcases already. Added a couple things to my kitchen, but just playing around with ideas for now really. I got rid of twenty five bins of Christmas items!!! It’s sickening how much “excess” we have when others are suffering. Less is better for me this year for sure. My house is still going to be plenty full of decor, I’m just trying to pull the excess back. Btw; it’s your house. If you want to decorate for Christmas in July, or leave your tree up year round- you do you. Who cares what anyone else has to say? You’re the one who has to live there, not them.
I had to use a journal off amz called "Throw It Away" by Guru Notebooks to get motivated. It's hard for me to throw things away, the journal helped a lot.
I figured out a couple of years ago, the things I am taking down to make room for Christmas can go IN the totes until after Christmas, why didn't I think of that earlier??? Love that red metal picnic basket!! I was just thinking about how your lives have changed in the last 12 months...This is going to be the best Christmas ever!!!
I get what you mean about being overwhelmed by your Decour; I had six tubs of my own Christmas decor and my mom passed away two years ago and she had six tubs of her own Christmas Decour so now I have 12 tubs of items that I need to go through and declutter and find new homes for and it’s very very overwhelming.
You did a fantastic job of decluttering. I was going to start on mine today, instead I spent it at A & E. I slipped down the stairs, fortunately on my bum. I luckily got away with just 3 brakes and several fractures , loads of grazing and bruises 😖 😆. Never a dull moment in my house 😂. Your video cheered me up no end, and I can't wait to see how you decorate this year. Have a wonderful weekend 💞
Bless you. I attempted to do this…but didn’t start until AFTER thanksgiving. I managed to get half of the mess sorted. Some went to donation. Some was given away. Some was sorted and listed on marketplace. Surprisingly enough, all but a few items sold…. I just donated those items yesterday.
*Good job, Genevieve❣️ Regarding the Santa Mugs...like so many Moms, one day you'll no doubt want to pass down Christmas decor and ornaments to your children from their childhood. If you ultimately have 2 children, you will be able to give each child their own "Set" of Santa 🎅 Mugs because of the number you have now. You may think. "Oh, I'll just buy more later." Since they are getting harder and harder to find - and the fact some will inevitably get broken over time - I would hang onto them all. In our family, we used them to serve egg nog and hot cocoa to family and guests whenever we hosted a meal or party over the holidays and they were a nice family tradition everyone looked forward to. Just my two cents worth from an old Mama who knows from experience sometimes you regret getting rid of multiples and later you don't have enough to pass down to children. 😔🎄🥰*
Hello love your Christmas decor, I want your little mugs I bought three regular size this year, but love the mini mugs, can’t wait to see all your Christmas decor out. Take care.
I've always loved ur videos but i'm loving them even more now with u & nick & claire & all ur furkids ur a beautiful family the one recent video where u & nick were having ur dinner in frontroom u said was ur new date nite. It made my heart full of happiness seeing nick holding claire on his chest while u brought dinner in y'all are so adorable & i say decorate when u want who cares what the grinches say & i've been going thru my decorations & donating what i don't want like u when i do decorate its easier less things y'all have a gr8 wk
Good for you, I have to do the same thing. I have 7 bins of inside decor and 3 for outside. I have way too much. Time to say goodbye to what I haven't used recently. Great job getting it done in one night! 😮
Wow 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 you did great! I remember last year when you were on the hunt for those mini Santa mugs from target lol so cute. I have a corner of my basement dedicated to Christmas, from home decor to tree decor for 2 trees. I try to purge every year. Thanksgiving in Canada was way back in October so our Christmas decor is definitely up now 🥰🎄 Great Job 👏🏼
I would love to have 6 of those little Santa mugs. I wish you did shipping. This year I’m finally setting my table in Christmas dishes. Yesterday I found 6 dinner plates with trees, and 6 cups & saucers from Spode
I can relate so much to you with this video 😅 I have so many Christmas bins and I get so overwhelmed. I am currently pregnant and the more I think about baby coming the more I want to declutter! Lol you made me laugh with your little santa expresso mugs. I just bought some! Lol You are right it gets so overwhelming to figure out where to put things away. Also, yes donate and FB marketplace. So sweet of your hubby to help you out. Love your story about the cookies and milk plate. Such a blessing to have baby Claire ❤
Thank you so much, yes it can def feel overwhelming! I decluttered soooo much while pregnant. It felt so good and honestly now that I have Claire, so happy I got rid of a lot. I’m anxious enough and the stuff around me causes me more anxiety 😂 Wishing you a healthy rest of your pregnancy ❤️
Girl I wish i lived closer..i would have tried to nut the entire tote! lol😂 So many are already completely decorated, so it doesn't matter when you decorate its ok! Like you I usually decorate several days before Thanksgiving just so its festive for that day.. but there's no rules😄 Excited to see your home decorated, you have some pretty pieces!
You need to take a picture of Clair in that little sled. I would suggest that you put everything away but just a few pieces and then revisit them next year when you are not overwhelmed with being a new mom.
Good job. I have so much I so need to downsize all of my decor from Valentines Day to Easter to Christmas. Fall was done earlier. It gives you a sense of being accomplish, for sure. You have some real cute stuff..Loved the video with Nick helping..My husband just watches. Lol
Hey Genevieve you did a great job going through your C.things and sorting through to keep and sell!Bravo!!!It's a great feeling to declutter with or without a baby!!!! You guys have a very "Hapot Thanksgiving"!!😁🦃❤🦃
Genevieve, I have been looking for this houses forever on Mercari. I wish I lived closer to you. I would definitely buy them from you. You’re doing an amazing job! I’ve been doing the same thing. I can admit I have a Christmas decor problem.🧑🏻🎄 My husband loves Christmas too, but he just dreads getting everything down from the attic.😮
I put those little Santa mugs from Target on my tree. They’re adorable and seem to get more attention on the tree than sitting on a shelf. I give you credit for attempting to purge. Every time I do that I just about kick myself later. It’s not hurting anything in the box and you’ll have things you love to pick from later down the road 😊. I know….I’m no help 😂.
You have a very distinct style for Christmas decorations. Its easier to decide what to keep when you define your style. Which is bubbly bold and colorful. I was wondering why you decided to keep the pale pine trees. Is it for plain winter decor for when the christmas stuff is put away?
A good declutter job all done. You have a nice variety of items. You should have no trouble selling them. It will be a fun Holiday for you and Nick with little Claire Elizabeth. She is so adorable. She will like looking at the lights. Next year will be a different story. Have a Happy Thanksgiving . I can't wait to see you decorate. Take care. Kind regards Deana ❤
Genevieve, Would love to hear how you sell on marketplace. I have tried it and found that when I bundle like items like maybe Christmas decor, it doesn't sell. Even marked cheap. I think ppl want to pick and choose but I can't deal with the big number of no shows and especially for one little item for just a few dollars. I need help to know how to do this in a way that works!
Put your christmas sweaters in one of those vacuum seal bags and store it under the bed or in a closet. Storing them with your decor might allow bugs or moths to get to them.
A lot of my Christmas stuff now isn’t sentimental, more aesthetic decor. Probably once I have a bunch of babies first Christmas stuff, I will definitely struggle too 😂🙌🏻
When I’m on the fence about some things I just put them back away. Keep those item in their own bin if you don’t use them this year, next year pull them out and see. If you don’t want them or use them again maybe then get rid of them. You don’t have to have the same things every year so maybe next year you’ll use them and out other things away! If not.. bye!
I was very distracted during the whole video because every time Claire cried I was hoping you’d show her:( it’s ok though, dad must have been tending to her.
