    Love the white lined wheels, makes the black look even better. If only we could have 4501 in green again, or maybe 630 in green as well.

      Luckily the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad in NC will be painting 630's sister engine 722 in green once they finish the restoration, so it'll be nice to have one running engine of the Southern in green again.

    Nicely shot. Rock Spring is about 70 minutes away, so I ride over there or Chickamauga to catch it and chase down to Trion or Summerville about 3 times a year. We ride the train once a year usually in Oct.
    I need to ride up to Rossville and start there at MacFarland Gap. My favorite part of the paying passenger trip is rolling through Roseville and Trion.

    I made a very brief appearance in Summerville when 4501 was reversing to let 630 get on the turn table

    How come the hi-rail is following so closely behind?

      I'm pretty sure it's to make sure that nothing goes wrong while the train is running, extra safety measure.
