I'm glad these comments agree with me on this scene being not so great. I only looked this up cuz I found it so incredibly frustrating to watch. None of the military took cover ever. Nobody could hit Rafa, even when he was three feet away in the open. Military assault rifles were totally incapable of penetrating a roting fence board Kiki used for cover. I've gotten through the entire show up to this episode and I haven't seen a single scene near this bad.
Some people might be wondering why are they wearing old uniforms well the reason is that Mexico was in a economic crisis that's why they could not buy cool ass equipment
The only missing point in this gun fight scene are the recoil and the lack of penetration of objects bullets penetrate those covers like red hot knife through butter. Also one more thing the people are quite unaffected by the gunshot sound. For more realistic depiction gun shots are not always automatic because the sound makes the user very very uncomfortable and as they are not wearing any ear protection so they will shoot in single and and sometimes in burst.
That whole raid scene was so "weak", felt like they didn't failed to make it somewhat decent, but like they intended it to be this surreal gripping action show off. I mean 0:53 comeon ... they're detaining 3 guys open field no cover while bullets hit right next to them? Heh...
