I just ordered my first carbon wheels by Superteam for my Giant Defy Aluxx. I ride about 3K miles per season. I'm looking forward to switching my low-profile stock rims to ST 50MM Carbons with Continental tires. Great review.
Awesome! I would say the only downside to these wheels is the width. Limited to 23mm- 24mm tires, but on most older bikes that's all you can run anyway. You'll love them! Thanks for the comment.
@@chqcycling2528 I purchased the wheels and can't stay off my bike. 1200 miles on my SuperTeam wheels and praying for a hot winter to extend my season.
How is the braking? Did you use their pads or do you use your own? Have you tried them in the wet? I am on the verge of buying a set of these and not sure whether to spend the extra $200 for the ones with the bonded aluminium braking surface on them.
If you live In a hilly area, I would go with the upgraded ones. I bought seperate pads that were recommended as the best carbon pads and braking is not horrible, but it's not great either. Dry days are no problem, but I have road in the rain and you just have to brake sooner.
I’m looking to upgrade my aluminum Mavic Cosmic’s to a set of these for my 2004 Giant OCR 2. The Cosmic’s I have are 40mm aero with bladed spokes. I’m running 25mm gp4000II’s. Much more lighter than the stock box aluminum wheels that came with the bike. I’m assuming these wheels would be an “upgrade” to the older Cosmic’s?
Need some advice, Im going to try these wheels for my Triathlon Bike , here in Texas wind is not supper terrible, i ride in hill country (mixed flat & hilly) my weight is 80kgs , I was thinking 60 deep in the back /Front with 700x25 tires…. Any Suggestions?
I would run either 60mm front and rear or do what I'm doing and go 88mm rear and 50 or even 60 in front. Honestly you can't go wrong wither way. and yes, 25mm tires feel way better than 23. Let me know what you go with.
Great recommendations 👌 I been a superteam user for about 4 years on my tt bike. But I want to get the 38mm shallow wheels for climbing set on my roubaix. Anywhoo thanks for recommendations
Hi bro, i also own this wheels set, at the moment i use my hand try to press to rim of the wheels, i recognize it dont really stiff, even i can say it quite softer than i thought, you can try it.
Not sure on getting superteam wheels. On a limited budget for a 2010 2x10 sram force/gx rd CX/general outdoor use bike with trp CX 8.4 V brakes and trouble finding new rim brake wheels. Very old alloy clincher set nearing end of safe use and race only lightweight alloy tubular set is 23mm wide rims. Either new wheels or new bike which about $3,000 to $4,000 now days for compareable build and quality frame. Been looking all summer; seeing superteams or questionable pre owned wheels or local shops/other wheel builders trying unload their rim brake wheels for way more than superteams. Due to local hilly terrain and nearby mountains with changing wind directions on the false flat/rollars 38mm is looking the way to go if I go that route. Not sure on wheel build quality or long term use over rougher roads/mixed surafces?
Ya,I will have to just keep putting the miles to these and see what happens. I will for sure do a follow up once I have another 1000 miles. Thanks for watching!
Same as the majority of the other Chinese brands, superteam is very irresponsible when the wheel was damaged when they landed! Will not buy their product anymore. Winspace is a much better choice.

Aluminium carbone is good quality bro

@@chqcycling2528 Thank you for replying, I do live in a hilly area so I think ill wait a bit and go for the upgraded ones. Cheers!

I think they would be an upgrade. They are bladed spokes and deeper profile plus they are probably lighter and stiffer too.

Great ides. Ya! These superteam wheels are bulit really well and easy to work on. Bearing replacement is super easy. No pun intended! Lol
Damn what year is your tarmac pro mines 2013
It's actually a 2009 Allez Elite!
Like that wheelset
For the price they are built really well.
How are the rim brakes in the rain? I've heard bad stories of earlier carbon wheels and wet weather.
Honestly not bad. Not as good as disk breaks but Ive been in pouring rain twice now with no issues.
Alloy rims are a lot better than carbon. If you run carbon rim brake you need special pads.

Ya but I'm a light weight. Not worried. Lol
This good quality or not brother?
Yes. I'm only 140lbs and they hold up very well. Built good. Had my local bike shop look at them. They were impressed with the quality of the bearings
I run 28’s on mine…with rim brakes. I have a Matt black set of the same wheels…60/88
Oh really? I wonder if 28's would fit on my bike setup then? Thanks for the info!
Lateral flexing?
Actually no. Stiff for me. Im only 135lbs though.
I like the super team carbon rims. I do not like the super team hubs and bearings. Could be made much better.
True, but they are easy to work on. I've replaced the bearings and it's an easy process. The fact that you can even replace the bearings is good news.

I don't ride but once per week so far I've owned them for 2 years with no issues.
