Dam I’m sold on the Force Protection Gear. The only worry that I have about going with GFC is winter camping. I probably would bring the hot tent for a back up.
@@christopherlaboy1857 Thank you! I have definitely made the detail an important part of the build. And yes, FPG is a must. Winter camping....cant speak on that to much, sorry.
We moved out solar panels to the lower half of the roof and it reduced the weight on the struts. Even with 2 175 watt Renogy panels it’s just enough strength. Great videos, great looking truck!!
That's a good idea! I might do that if it became a regular thing that happens. So far only the one time so not worth the effort to move it all at this point but ill keep the idea in mind, thanks.
Very clean and organized rig man. I’ve been considering pulling the trigger on a GFC for my 5.5 ft bed F150. The only reason why I haven’t is because of the sleeping space. I have a 2 year old and I’m not sure how all three of us would fit.

If you haven’t check out a couple of my recent video and i do a whole walk around. I recommend consider the FWC, especially with a kid. Much better sleep platform than a GFC
Nice rig...i was searching for the Flip up camper topper that you have, and I really discovered a few nice add on here! The mount for the Maxtrax, the solar, and the rear shaded panels are real nice adds. Id love to have a power wagon with a "decked" bed system, plus this topper and shade panel. I think it hits all my "wants" into one package. From what im reading the topper is only about 275 pounds which is a plus as well. The Power Wagon Payload capacity is a bit limited, so keeping the topper light is important.
Thank you. Yeah the GFC is very light weight. And I love the power wagon, with just the one draw back of the limited payload. For such a big capable truck it doesn’t have any more payload than the tundra really. Good luck with the build out, I’m sure it will look great.

Love your videos. My GFC should be shipped in June, can’t wait. I also have the Expedition One rear bumper with the tire swing going on my F250. Love your setup! With the added weight from the camper, bumper, gear, etc.. did you have to beef up your rear suspension and add a leaf or anything like that? I’m currently running a 6” lift with 37 BFGs and don’t want any squat in the rear. Yours looks really level so just curious. Nice work as always! I’m in NC but the dream is to get out to San Diego and hit some of the beach camping. Thanks again!
(Here was my FB response for those that care to read and not using FB.) Landon Eck thanks a lot! Appreciate you watching them. Yes I hate the squat look too so I have some air bags that are still on from back in my camper trailer towing days. But they do the trick and I can adjust the air depending on how much stuff I have with me on a particular trip. I have had all new suspension on order for months and will be having a new leaf spring pack made as soon as the stuff ever comes in. The airbags will be removed at that point. Beach camping is awesome, hit me up if you ever make it out this way.
i like your videos but this felt more like a build walkthrough than a review of the camper. Any water leaks? issues with doors? Issues with locks? Any movement from the clamps? Hinge reliability ? Any issues with the rear tent latches and associated locks? Any issues with the nylon keder cord? these are just a few things ive seen pop up on forums and videos that might be good to touch on for a review of the tent and camper. Thanks for the content again I do enjoy the videos.
Mostly no to all those issues you listed. The one issue of the Beef Rack bar ends rusting but all new model GFC's come with the updated aluminum bar ends. Then the only other issue is one of the tent latches is sticky and they have told me they will replace it...I just haven't bothered doing it yet. Still opens, closes and latches so hasn't really affected me. Thanks for checking out the video.

Thanks for an awesome video. Question about the Exped...since it's one piece as opposed to the GFC version, how did it effect getting in/out of the camper if someone is sleeping and you only have one ladder?
It for sure changes that dynamic. Even without the ExPed, it’s likely the other person will be disturbed some. You have to move off of your side to be able to remove a section of the floor/mattress to be able to get down. With the ExPed, I don’t see going through the floor as a option at all.
