I was channel surfing after a late shift trying to calm down to get sleep, heard Frida doing warm ups before a concert and was finding the harmonics of the room and the crowd screaming...the most amazing musical thing I have ever witnessed. Frida can make a cement mixer sound wonderful.
I am always deeply moved when I listen to Frida sing. And this song is beyond words. Her face and her voice take me far and high. You could die for such a girl.
OMG ! first time I ever heard this and I Love It ! why??? Frida could easily put out an album with all the duets and collaborations she has done since going solo after Abba. I would snatch it up in a second !
@@joeclarke6973 A flop sales-wise (due to virtually no promotion, as I pointed out), but that does not mean it was a bad record. I don't even 'recall', as you do, as I never heard of it at the times of its release. I only found out about some years later. It's a pity it got no recognition. As she said in one of her more recent interviews after the launch of ABBA Voyage about what the critics were saying, she replied, (obviously from decades of experience), "You will always get critics!" And I guess that is how she views people that make comments about her song "flops". Some of the folk out there with such high level expectations could not even sing a "flop" never mind captivate the world for over 4 decades with a long list of top hits of singles & albums. 💕 Frida isn't a quitter and I admire her tenacity to get up and go despite the levels of success. Her song The Sun Will Shine Again accompanied by John Lord on piano shows her resiliance even after the tragic deaths of both her husband and daughter in succession. I guess that could be regarded as a "flop" too for those interested in the facts and figures, but it is a great song. 🕊
Very complimentary voices! It's like they were made to sing together. Magic from two highly-underrated artists. Frida's solo work is quite obscure and B.A Robertson had such a fleeting career, at least as a performer.
It's from the english version of the originally french children's musical ABBACADABRA, where Frida took part. This musical is based on ABBA songs with new lyrics.
Pleased to say that I have this on vinyl 7". Not easy to compose lyrics to a pre-existing and famous tune (from Arrival), but this was a job well done, and nicely performed here. Simply charming.
This gentlemen absolutley loves Frida...he gave her flowers and slipped her a card...probly with his phone number lol😊good on him...and i think they suit one another...they make such a beautiful cupple💜💙
what an album it would be to have all 6 songs they made in 1982 following the Visitors album which was their last, along with this song and 2 or 3 others that they discarded in previous years.
I had to do some research that this is the ABBA instrumental "Arrival" with Lyrics. Is this correct? Does anyone know who wrote the Lyrics? I love this duet. Frida was so versatile and emotional in her singing ability and always was an excellent entertainer.
yes of course it is ARRIVAL, the instrumental track of the Album Arrival from 1976... it only got lyrics in connection with ABBAcadabra musical of well known ABBA tracks put together with different lyrics around 1982 in several languages. Frida recorded it in English and French with Daniel Balavoine turning out be "Belle". It was NOT written for Chess.
This was the Abba Europe musical before mamma Mia I'm surprised this has not gone for a revival on the west end from which the song was taken and chess which the guys written together with tim rice.
Frida is class, beauty, talent
Beautiful song. Frida's voice is amazing.

This deserved to have had more promotion at the time. It would have made a wonderful Christmas hit 🌿
It was a huge flop I seem to recall
