A friend of mine visits his father with Alzheimer's every week in his nursing home. Once, someone asked him, 'Why do you visit your father if he doesn't know who you are?' And he replied, 'He doesn't know who I am, but I know who he is.'
I wish you well. Though I have a brother, he abandoned my mum and live separately with his wife and daughter. When my mum is sick and in hospital and I called him, the only thing he said is it is late and he had to work. I am single but I have no regrets because I try my best to look after my elderly of 76 yo mum with chronic issues. May we caregivers brave forward together.
Hello Glenn, although I do not know you, I still think that you are a filial son. Your mom is very lucky to have you as her son. You take good care of her but do not forget to take care of yourself. God bless you and your mom.
The mom is cute and adorable in her mannerisms though, doesn’t seem aggressive, that helps a lot in the caregiving process. Some other elderlies are way more stubborn , entitled and uncooperative even without the Alzheimer’s.
Such a good son u r, Yun Your parents are blessed. So proud of you esp feeling how much you love her! May your mom improves under your special care. Jia-you !!
This had me in tears, really touching. Well done bro, you are an inspiration and its a good reminder for all of us that it is important to "payback" to our parents who raised us up.
You are a very good son . I suppose your mother must be a very good mother too. She still seems so humorous and considerate , despite her dementia. I think you have received a lot of love from your mother , that's why you have a lot of love to give to her now . Looking at how caring and loving you are to your mother , i wonder if that is a plus or a minus in your personal life..... getting married , having children etc
Alzheimer have no cure, the meds can only slow down symptoms. Not every son will take care of their mom like that. She is blessed to have a son like him😊may her final journey be peaceful as her disease progresses
The thing is, patient with Alzheimer, it will never get easier. I have been taking care of my father for the 11 years. The early stage was the toughest, and the middle stage was not easy either. From forgetting things, keep on repeating the same questions and now, he cant do anything on his own. Things will get tougher but please be good to your parent till their last breath😍
You are an amazing son .. rare find in today's generation! Your mum is very blessed. You will live with no regrets later when she leaves this world.

Dear Mum, I failed on you when I left home 😢😪😭
Easier said than done... But stay strong.
very filial son
he is my dad’s friend
Being a primary caregiver, it is hard. You have to give up a lot of your personal time and ambition. Given a choice, I wouldn’t want to.
