Don't EVER underestimate Bruce Willis! He was/is John McLain FFS, he has been known to be build his own cars cos no car he could buy would ever be bad ass enough for him, nutra bullet build him a one off model made of diamond glass and carbon blades so he can blend a bottle of black label bourbon and a huge box of 4 inch nails (that is his equivalent of a breakfast spiralina and kale smoothie)
Happy you guys crossed the finish line. I picked the channel and project about a year into the build, and I haven't missed one since. I've said it before, it was inspirational and a real motivating force in getting back on my '33 Vicky. I was probably a week or so from sending it on. Thanks guys, great job!
Love to hear this has inspired you! Don't leave us as we have a lot more coming, both with this car and possible something new. In fact, send me an email at contact@maniacsgarage.com with the size of t-shirt you wear. I'd like to get you one as a thank you for being one of our biggest (longest) fans. You have been awesome in commenting on our videos on a regular basis. Thank you! and Happy New Year!
Possibly the coolest thing I have ever seen. I was thinking about grafting a late 60’s Valiant body (square shaped) on to a 2009 FG XR6 Falcon Turbo. From the land down under.
The "shortening" is called sectioning, that also refers to widing if you would of added a few inches in the middle. Which could have looked alot better than having the tires poking out the sides
Yeah I hear you but we originally set out to have the wheels sticking out. Especially since the BMW donor car under it was the same width as the 49 Ford. Pretty crazy that it fit as good as it did. With that said, we may rework the fenders at some point. Thanks for watching!
@@ManiacsGarage sectioning it would add your own body work while showing off a period correct kind of modification rather than it look like you just tacked something on. Even if ya went with wide fenders you could have cut the body n pulled them out n add some triangles to fill the gaps, it could have fit better with the style of that body work.
So cool! We loved the video Scotty D put out on our car! Welcome to out channel. Stay tuned for some shenanigans with our 49 and some good coverage of other ratty builds.
Bodyswaps are such an old idea. That said, this has really got all my attention. The only thing I don't like is that shade wrapped centre console. Every single other thing is next level. What an amazing idea you have turned into reality. It's team protest like this that make dreams start for the next generation of kids.
Those who created this beautiful work of art wouldn't want me on their Y team, much less the A team. But that aside, what a beaut creation your team pulled off even in the eyes of this putt-putt car driver.
Yup! You're onto us. It is not done. But it is done enough to call it,... for now. Keep on then lookout for tuning, air ride and possible some different fender set up. And of course for a possible next project. Thanks for following!!
When he said i wanted to build something that breaks and paused And im thinking weeeeeelll it is a BMW under all that soooooo🤷♂️ Jokes aside Man that is awesome
Love it, awsome job. is it titled as a 49 ford? is it even able to be registered for street? just wondering what DMV issues you run into with these swaps. THX
Not really! Since we only work on on projects like this one day a week, Saturday (M-F day regular job and Sunday church stuff), that's only like 100 days (or 3 and a half months). Thanks for watching and your comment!!!
Funny you ask. I was just working on it last week dialing in some reming items. We originally wired the headlight, tail and brake butnow we have full use od turn signals, hazards, we even have back up lights!!
You see all you sport figures, rappers, rock stars, movie stars etc…get something like this instead of a Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bentley blah blah blah cookie cutter cars. This is not only awesome but unique.
It would have been a different build, cool too for sure! But this build was always destined to have radically wide wheels (20x12 & 20x14 with 7 & 9 inch backspacing). The wheels were custom made from scratch for this project to be displayed at the SEMA show in Las Vegas last year and they are now available off the shelf. Hostile Wheels "the Maniac"
The exterior takes quite a bit away from it. The quality and the workmanship really show in the interior. Very simple, somewhat raw and elegant at the same time.
I keep envisioning the car with 300SL/C2 Corvette Stingray inspired wheel arches for some reason. Obviously not my vision but the '49 Ford would look really good in those rather than flared out fenders. The build is outrageous nonetheless
That was made in-house. I don't think it's uploaded to Spotify yet but it should be in the newr future. Here are some others made or remixed by us as well: open.spotify.com/artist/4SgDkYyGkP6pADdEzA43mC?si=KhE1-4nxRY6Sqoy6Mnhvpw Thanks for following our build!!
Yeah, we'd like to get it out to have some fun. In fact we may be taking it back to the SEMA show this year and run it in the Optima Street Car Challange.
Didn't know Bruce Willis did this stuff in his spare time 👍🏻
He is a jack of all trades...
I thought it was Vin Diesel
It’s a Beamer so when it dies it’ll “DIE HARD”
🤣

With his sunglasses on you’d be hard pressed to tell the difference.
John... McClain? LOL, you're a doppelganger for Bruce Willis. Yippee-ki-yay Maniacs! Fun build.
🤣👊
Great build. I personally would love to have seen it cleaned up and painted.

Awesome Build!!
Thank you!! We really appreciate it! Happy New Year!
Congrats on this two year transformation and for sharing the videos of this build.
Thanks Craig! Do stay tuned as we have some more up our sleeve when it comes to this project,... and possibly a new one!!
One of the best builds I’ve ever seen
Ahh, that does make us feel good! Thank you!! Stay tuned for more...
Shout out to car tok for letting me find you wonderful person and this beast of a machine

Another mad max on the road...
Nice job girl & boys... keep up the good work..
That sun visor was a work of art in its own right, absolutely beautiful.
I can't help to think that you look like Bruce Willis when he was a bit younger.Great job on the car and it looks very heavy.
Hahaha! Thanks on Bruce comment. You're not gonna belive it but the car weights almost exactly what the original BMW 335 weight.
@@ManiacsGarage That's amazing considering that those old cars weigh a ton because of its steel construction.
Looks great I like the fact that it’s not painted🥳
Thank you Greg!
'Ullo John, got a new motor? Or shall I say, "Ullo John, go' a new mo-uh?".....sorry, look up Alexie Sayle, from the UK.
Nice work.
Fantastic job. Restomods are my favorite types of Cars.
Thanks for your comment!! We love them too because the posibilities are endless.
@@ManiacsGarage l would pick them over exotic super Cars anyday.
I sure like the way it looks came out great.
Thank you!!

I didn't know Bruce Willis was a car guy
Hahaha
New to the channel and looking forward to watching all of your past videos. Glad to come across you on Scotty D TV.

Hi John, I, too, picked up the build about a year ago, and have really enjoyed watching. Very entertaining! Happy New Year to all of you!
Hello Tom, thank you for watching our build and good luck with yours! DM us some pics @maniacsgaragebuilds if you want.

This car is wild!

muy bien hecho Bruce
Bruce will, in ten fast ten furious, (prelude story "dom father")🤣🤣
That's pretty funny!! 👊
I’ve said it many times my all time favourite car build, congrats on finishing it. But what’s next to come?????
Thanks!! and that's a good question. We're kicking some things around...... Stay tuned!!!
Next is a '53 Hudson Hornet on a recent model Bentley Flying spur chassis.....180 mph in a Hudson!
"Con el sabor no se juega. I speak en serio" Nice job 👍
👍
Looks so much better than the BMW
Love it that is super cool 😎 👍
Hello Mr. Willis 😅
Hahaha, I know! Thanks for watching!
Hope this is noticed by BMW designers.
Hahaha, right! 👊
How yeah Bruce wilis
LOL. Thanks
I love this. I had a similar idea to put a 240z body on an S600 chassis. Sadly, I did not do that. ;)
Autorized double of Bruce Willis Amazing Job
LOL
Very cool build guys.
Awesomeness brother. Love what you guys are doing. Just subscribed. Thanx for sharing. GBU
Right one!! Thanks for the SUB! We are taking it to the dyno next week. Stay tuned...

damn bruce willis is finally doing something great!

No problems at all, it is titled as a 49 Ford.
👍🏻
Thanks!
Beautiful car, but 2 years to build? that's absolutely crazy. Way to long!!!

How did the registration and title work out in Arizona? I'm just thought about doing a body swap just don't know what happens with adot
How dis you get Bruce Willis to narrate?
Hahaha. I'm a look-a-like
Can you buy this car? If so when will it be for sale? and what’s the estimated price?
Not at this time... Thanks for your interest!
Uffff me gustó la transformación del carro para mí excelente quisiera verlo total mente de negro con brillo y como. Pero está perfecto 100 %
OMG the welds on the cage are looking bad, please consider to fix them
How cool would this build have been if they didn't put those crazy offset wheels on it.

Too bad you left it like it is. Some matt black wrap would be cool.
Bruce Willis on a car channel !
Bruce Willis 👍
It looks like a XL Volkswagen karmann Ghia
Beautiful build! I would love one. How can i contact you about building one of these beauties?
Well, we are just a hobby shop. But you could contact Jay at Jay Shackleford Engineering.
We just did a video interview with him.
But please keep following us... Maybe some day...

Looks ruff (a compliment). What's the HP output?
Is the car really finished.? Some of the weldings looks sloppy.
sound of the car ?
It's in some of the videos. 6 cylinder inline 3.0 L BMW with single top mount Garrett Motion turbo and a 10 inch exhaust pipe.
