    These sounded so cool, I just bought them and then was experimenting for hours. In other words, I lost my whole world in one night.

    I love those two. Esp. VHS brings back a lot of memories.

    Funny how the audio plugin industry develops these trends... a few years ago everybody released a tape emulation, now it is the surge of cassette emulation plugins.
    My prophecy for the next trend: phonograph cylinder emulations! It’s the real deal! Listen to how your great-great-grandparents enjoyed their waltzes, marches and arias! Absolute faithful emulation with limited frequency range (500-5000hz), more noise and crackles than musical content and rapidly declining audio quality the longer you use the plugin!

      I literally just saw an ad for a release on wax cylinder. Definitely thought a bridge toooo far.

    SketchCassette from Abberant DSP is cool too. Looks like a toy/gimmicky thing but I found it useful on full mixed and individual tracks

    Hey the VHS sounds very delicate. Just the Heat-knob. I see fluorescent Colors in Imagination with that one. if its really usable for serious musicoloration.. still not shure but delicate. the cassete-tape has really good klick it does on the kick, good!

    Cassette is very good. A great mixing tool. Played some hours with it and like it. The tape repeat sounds too fake to me, and I'd wish a rewind emulation and a tape stop. But most important I wish a wet/dry knob to emulate tape loop degradation over time by automating that parameter. But beside that it's cool with rich saturation.
    In the 90th I used to record audio on a high end Panasonic VHS system. Superb sound.

      Wavesfactory is a cool developer. Maybe they enlight us with a future update :)
      I got 2 tape decks but I'm really too lazy to build real lofi and destructive tape loops :)

      I've got a VCR in the studio for running synths into, as well as a two track mastering reel to reel, but the vhs (and its a hifi vhs, which means there is compression inline, which I enjoy, but am looking for a nonhifi so I can drive to tape and not the compressor) it does have a sound.

    Eh, Tape Cassette doesn't sound like a tape cassette I relate to and VHS is on some other sh**. I don't why they bother calling it VHS. Honestly, if I'm going to go for a cassette sound I want it to sound like a cheap cassette in a walkman with the batteries half drained. That's about all I could do growing up and therefor that is what takes me back to the cassette sound. Seems kinda pointless to have a cassette VST that sounds like a high end tuned system with some fake flutter and what not.

    • @nichttuntun3364
      @nichttuntun3364 4 года назад

      I think your statement is a bit focused on certain points. There is far more to it. Cassette is a fantastic mixing tool. But yes, your opinion is valid. They could have layed more focus on certain points too.

    • @EnervatedSociety
      @EnervatedSociety 4 года назад

      @@nichttuntun3364 it's a very specific opinion, yes. Personally I have too many "mixing tools" already. Among my DAW's one of them is modular (Bitwig) so this really offers nothing I couldn't make (maybe better imo) or approximate myself using the digital tools I already have. But that's me, I understand some people may find value in Cassette and or VHS. (or Klevgrand's version, ect) I'd sooner give the 32 dollars to a hungry person and fire up the old crappy Tascam Portastudio 488 or Sony walkman (forget the model) to get a tape sound. Now those sound like a tape cassette to me. ;)
      To each their own though. Have a good one.
