One day as a community maybe we will learn what a spoiler is. What film appreciation is. And the ways one can and should write about cinema :-) I live in hope ❤
For me... spoiler is anything that will take away my surprise in any which way when watching. Without even watching the movie, knowing that Alia Bhatt will shout "Inqalab Zindabad" in the movie is sure to take away at least a bit of impact from the scene. I love your reviews, you are great but yes toooo many details.
Yes, one must learn how to take criticism well! Looks like Sucharita is just not ready to accept even after almost every comment is telling her that she is revealing too many details and spoiling the fun 😅
I usually love Sucharita’s reviews, however had to hop off this one midway because she was revealing a lot of details that I only wanted to catch at the movies!
@sucharita Jail break movies are always predictable. What is important here is HOW. Point of 'How' is in Jigra is too easy, convenient, Godly, It makes audience bore. Director should play one step ahead of audience's anticipation. Apart from Alia's brilliant skin deep performance, nothing works for me. Story is more important than Style. Emotions are more important than actions. If you are a big fan of any Director, as a critic, it would be difficult for you to judge, any work of that director. Or you should not review his or her film.Otherwise it would be difficult for your job. Because your review will not be very authentic. Subconscious always matters in our decisions. Yeah true...I have always had this problem with her reviews..when you see reviews of people like chris stuckmann, he want you to experience the movie without knowing anything just like he watches the movie
JIGRA - My Top 10 Reasons I Didn’t Like It 1. Too Slow: The movie is slow, and the main story-that Alia will save her brother no matter what-is clear within the first 30 minutes. 2. No Emotional Connection: There’s no real emotional connection between the characters. The father’s death felt random, and we don’t know if she had a troubled childhood. 3. Weak Sibling Bond: The relationship between Alia and her brother isn’t well-developed. They just play basketball together. In comparison, Ranbir’s love for his sisters is much clearer in Animal. 4. Confusing Start: Alia works for the family as a maid, but it’s unclear why. The opening party scene makes no sense, and suddenly she’s flying in a private jet to another country. If the family doesn’t care about her, why does she get 2 crores and a private jet? 5. Weak Supporting Cast: The supporting cast, including the jailer and Manoj Bawa, was not impressive. Manoj’s character, who is supposed to be a retired gangster, felt more like a joke. A stronger actor like Vijay Raaz was needed. 6. Fictitious Country: The foreign country shown didn’t feel real. It’s confusing if they meant it to be Singapore, but there were random dragon pictures, and in the end, Malaysian police show up. That was annoying. 7. Poor Jail Scenes: The friendship between the inmates wasn’t well-developed. Suddenly, there’s a police officer in love with an inmate, was it required? 8. Unnecessary Remix: The remix of the famous Dev Anand/Zeenat song was added but it doesn’t enhance the experience. 9. Alia’s Performance: I find Alia’s performance average. With a weak screenplay, she couldn’t carry the movie on her own. 10. Unrealistic Climax: The climax felt unrealistic. Alia didn’t do any action scenes like Katrina or Deepika. She still seems too young for such roles.
This is a better and more apt review than Sucharita’s. It’s amazing how she is willing to overlook so much in this film while she would’ve not cut this kind of slack to another filmmaker.

But what's becoming a problem lately, many are calling out here. You are revealing a lot!! Sorry, please don't mind.. Always love and respect to your journey and achievements :)
Jigra had all cliches of an 80s masala movie but without the masala. Went for Vasan Bala, but I'm highly disappointed. Slow, not engaging and cannot relate. Kuch bhi ho raha hai movie. BIG OPPORTUNITY LOST for the makers
Agreed, I personally felt it lacked cohesiveness and was too focused on Alia for my taste. Vasan Bala’s characters, which he has created or contributed to in the past, are usually so well-developed, with even the supporting actors having substantial roles. But that wasn’t the case here.
@TheHunter1411 and the main reason is when directors get A Lester's, many times they tend to falter. Example when SRK worked with Anand Rai. By his own admission, he was enamored by SRK stardom and faltered in Zero
You have revealed the whole movie without leaving any details. This is not the way to review. Please take the feedback of viewers - this is too much of details
The film is really disappointing. Have noticed you were very condescending to Shraddha in your Stree review but Alia's stony faced acting is " sublime" ? Interesting how you seem to have all the kindness and patience for certain Dharma nepos but are hard on non Dharma pets and outsider women. It's giving " conveniant feminism"
Just because you hated something does not give you the license to dictate the opinion of others! God people just cannot accept the hard truth that Alia can actually act well! Moreover even if the reviews are mixed none of the reviewers have criticized Alia's acting. The mixed reviews are for the plot holes in the story telling! Just because your favorite actress did not get good reviews for her performance from someone does not mean that the reviewer is biased!
‘Stone Faced’??!! Ever heard ‘Subtle Acting’??!! Do you have the courage to pass the same ‘Stone Faced’ jibe at ‘Ajay Devgan’??!! No!! Because according to you ‘Ajay Devgan’, ‘Sanjay Dutt’, etc…. are ‘Legends’, they are ‘Subtle Actors’, ‘They Express Through Eyes’, ‘Such Intense And Powerful Look’ and what not!! But if the same thing is done by ‘Alia Bhatt’, she becomes ‘Stone Faced’??!! Who is being convenient here??!! By the way, she has also done movies like ‘Highway’, ‘Gully Boy’, ‘Udta Punjab’, ‘Dear Zindagi’, ‘2 States’, ‘Kapoor And Sons’, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya’, ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya’ with full and complete loud expressions but according to you in all those movies, she ‘Overacted’!! Right??!! So, if she does loud, modern, fun loving, carefree roles, then that is ‘Overacting’ and if she does soft, demeanour, subtle and serious roles, then that is ‘Stone Faced’!! Seriously, who is being convenient here??!!
@@seemonjena659 Exactly, ‘Alia Bhatt’ never got bad criticism from any film reviewers or film critiques or film experts in her entire career even when the films were flop like ‘Shaandar’ or ‘Sadak 2’ or ‘Kalank’!! People have always appreciated her work!! They say, the film went flop because of so and so reasons like the story or direction or screenplay, etc, etc,…. but no one till date has ever said anything wrong or bad about her performance!! Not being able to see a flaw in someone’s performance inspite of flaws in the film is what makes a person good actor!! And ‘Alia Bhatt’ achieved that since her very first movie!! People say she gets good scripts which are bound to be hit, hence her performances are good but the fact is, people always appreciated her performances even in bad scripts!! Whereas, few actors get appreciated only when their films get hit or they do good scripts!! Like ‘Shraddha Kapoor’ got appreciated only in movies like ‘Stree’ franchise, ‘Aashiqui 2’, ‘Ek Villian’, etc…., where genuinely the scripts and stories were good!! But if it was a bad script or a flop film, she always got criticised like ‘She could have done better’, ‘she has a long way to go’, etc…., People can literally check the reviews of all their films (hit and flop) if they don’t believe me!! Truly, ‘Alia Bhatt’ always got appreciated even if her film went flop whereas, ‘Shraddha Kapoor’ got appreciated only when her films were hit!! That itself shows that ‘Shraddha Kapoor’ needs good scripts in order to shine but ‘Alia Bhatt’ shines her way through even if the script is bad!! People just don’t understand!!
Finally a decent review. I was so sceptical going into the movies given all the bad reviews but I was blown away. Idk how it’s getting all these hate reviews. It’s Dharma so kinda surprising
To those complaining about spoilers, why would you read or listen to an in depth review of a film before you've seen it? If all you want to know is whether it's any good, there are simpler shorter reviews out there. Reviews like these are best for after you've seen the film so you can compare your own thoughts with those of professional critics, as well as see if there might have been any details you missed.
Erm like people watch a review before going to see a movie if its worth a watch or not. Those are spoilers I didn't need to know now ruins the curiosity I had about their background knowing the father jumped. The trailer didn't give the beats away. I'm disappointed a bit with this review. Usually a fan had to stop watching the review for fear more would be revealed.
There's also a Red Apple Cigarettes integration (a classic Tarantino trope) towards the end of the prison escape sequence, when the lady guard gives a pack to the inmate. Not sure why Vasan didn't use his own new trope instead of paying homage to Tarantino.
Plus this reminded me of how unique he makes the film plus trivia cameos of #AbhmanyuDesani #RadhikaMadan #SikanderKher #Akansharanjan Easter’s from #Zanjeer #Agneepath 00:00
You and I must have watched different movies. To me, it looked as if the director was in love with that last rooftop action sequence, and made the rest of the movie to set it up. And why, oh why, did we have that insufferably loud background track, almost all through the film? Alia Bhatt deserves better.
The film has nothing new to offer. I know it's crafted with style but the concept is so done and dusted that even a good performance can't save it from drowning. A very weak opening scene compared to Vasan Bala's other limited filmography. I loved 'MKDNH' and 'Monica' both. but this is the weakest film, even paddlers was better. The main reason I hated the film was the length. As an audience everyone in the theatre knew what was going to happen, yet the long stretched scenes were there without much context. Emotion was the core of the film which just floats on the surface. Hardly there were any action scenes which we haven't seen in the trailer. This is my honest opinion and not a review of the film.
@@SucharitaTyagiBest like seriously? He spoke in the most caricaturish manner like that funny youtuber Uncle Roger! It's so obvious how biased you are just because it's Vasan Bala. Had it been some other mainstream maker you would have called such cliches out and would have called the jail break absolutely illogical

Are you serious ? You the one who dumbs down much better scripted movies , actually pulls all plugs for this one ? Just a sincere Alia who produces and acts , cannot consider huffing puffing and a gangubai demeanour as outstanding . It is not her fault really for the directors and writers never bother to settle into the story background at all . There is no time spent to understand how Alia transformed from a little girl to an angry protective elder sister except for some random shot of her father willing himself away. You just don’t feel for the characters especially the brother as he looks blank and disinterested ( probably the brief) Things only perk up when Alia struts around or Vivek the jailer appears or our dear Manoj gets into his own The script is in total shambles wi th no coherence in the twists and turns Unnecessary pot shots are taken at couple of nations to make up this fictional country.. absolutely irresponsible and idiotic if you ask me
Ok I generally do not comment but just to balance out this weirdly erruptive comment section - love your work Sucharita ❤ and looking forward to watching this. You gave away about as much as the trailer did, and this is not a whodunit mystery sort of movie, we already know the general thread of events in these type of movies, dunno what people are complaining about.

Pls do take your viewer's views into consideration sometime. We love your work. Someone we look forward to listening to, amidst a crowd of many critics online. But what's becoming a problem lately, many are calling out here. You are revealing a lot!! Sorry, please don't mind.. Always love and respect to your journey and achievements :)
@@SucharitaTyagiagain.. Just sheer close mindedness to listen to any constructive criticism.
We need someone to critique these reviews because it's getting ready bad.
@@anupraj4313 totally agree
post this review after 1st week madam .... You revealed whole fckn movie
Haan haan sab paid reviews hi hote hai ajkal. No one can genuinely like a movie. Hai na?
Please watch jigra its going flop but the movie is verrryyy goodddd
Yes. I am a bad feminist because I didn’t like one female actor’s acting in one film.

Exactly, ‘Alia Bhatt’ never got bad criticism from any film reviewers or film critiques or film experts in her entire career even when the films were flop like ‘Shaandar’ or ‘Sadak 2’ or ‘Kalank’!!
Why soooo many spoilers dear Sucharita? The film has just released. :)

You are telling summary of movie not reviewing at all
Come back to see the review after watching the film. I defintely want to talk more about it! Such a fun watch, both the movie and the review
Bro where was abhinanyu shown?
Anupama's cheli - is also following Anupama footsteps!! DHARMA KA CHEQUE AA GAYA
For me the film was all style, no soul. 😓
You and I must have watched different movies. To me, it looked as if the director was in love with that last rooftop action sequence, and made the rest of the movie to set it up. And why, oh why, did we have that insufferably loud background track, almost all through the film? Alia Bhatt deserves better.
loved the movie. full stop.
Paid review?? I slept twice in this movie
And for Heavens sake please stop spoiling the film 😢... let others experience it for themselves
Dont forget to add "SPOILER ALERT" in your title.
Wait. How many marks again, out of 10?
You must be new. Welcome! :-)
Vivek Gomber is in this bish. Ugh, ab toh dekhni padegi
Best he is. JUST BEST
I think these reviewers are paid a lot for this movie, because this Jigra movie is a shitshow
U have sold out to this camp, very evidently. The bhaari climax you talk about is bs 😘 Manicured nailed Aalia, slow motion songs and bahubali type action choreography. All sold to Madam Tyagi
How much dharma paid u
Watch french movie, ' Anything for her'
Very nice movie. Better to watch in theatre as the camera work is really good. All the actors have done a great job.
This video is enough. No need to go and watch it in theatres. No one is watching this anyway 😂
You just revealed the whole story in the review . lol Thank God I did not watch your review before going to watch the movie. lol
Big big fan of your work...always wait for your reviews
Kinda excited to watch this now, the trailer made it seem like the film was a bit of a try hard.
Clearly a paid review where Sucharita is praising the terrible movie.
U call this a terrible movie..R u for real..?
I pity people like U.
Yes I m being blunt but u need to wake up in life.
Thats why i always watch the review after watching the movie😂

The best reviewer out there . Pumped to watch Jigra
Can I watch this movie with my 6 years old daughter?
I will advice against it. Theres enough violence and pain on display. It's not technically A rated but definitely not made for children.
Jigra movie what was the story did it have any sense
What logic of brother and sister was there did it have any logic… it was all about alia the other character was jst doing time pass the brother had nothing to do… very very bad movie… alia don’t be so famous that u forget yr roots
You just don’t feel for the characters especially the brother as he looks blank and disinterested ( probably the brief)
Things only perk up when Alia struts around or Vivek the jailer appears or our dear Manoj gets into his own
The script is in total shambles wi th no coherence in the twists and turns
Unnecessary pot shots are taken at couple of nations to make up this fictional country.. absolutely irresponsible and idiotic if you ask me
Ok I generally do not comment but just to balance out this weirdly erruptive comment section - love your work Sucharita ❤ and looking forward to watching this. You gave away about as much as the trailer did, and this is not a whodunit mystery sort of movie, we already know the general thread of events in these type of movies, dunno what people are complaining about.
Thank you Madhurima! Cheered me right up! ❣️
This much story line is not needed to appreciate the film
5:27 A blink and a miss appearance from Abhimanyu Dassani as well
This movie was straight up trash. Pretentious.
How the hell could Alia Bhatt transform from "Yellow Belt Fail" to John Wick?
Please stop revealing entire storylines in your reviews!

Liked the film.
Loved Alia. She's giving Madhuri vibes more and more as time passes!
She excelled in every scene.
Not sure how many people will feel the same but I did think of Gumrah, in which Alia's mom, Soni, sneaks into the male prison for her brother.
Anyone else also think of that??
I quite liked the movie.. i did pause the review and chose not indulge in any reviews since i knew i was gonna watch it anyway.. and the PVR i was in.. was housefull!!! Kudos to Alia for picking such projects ❤
